how safe is the xenon lamp? how safe is the xenon lamp? Assuming you are referring to a short arc xenon as used in cinema projection and similar applications, there are three major hazards:
1: Lamp explosion - these lamps run at very high internal pressures and can explode violently if mistreated or if run past rated life. Gauntlets, Leather apron and a full face shield are normal when performing lamp changes.
2: Ultra violet exposure - Some of these units do not have built in UV filtering and can emit dangerous levels of shortwave UV. Just ensure all the filters are in place.
3: Eye damage due to the intensity, just don't look at the arc directly.

HID Xenon lamp for Tata Indigo? I do a lot of high way driving on my Tata Indigo marina. I find the head lamp is inadequate. Can I fit a) Xenon HID 6000 K (make, say Raylux -distributed from Mumbai, 2 bulbs configuration ie separate xenon bulbs for hi and lo beams, costing about Rs 7K) b) Is it illegal? Can we ask for permission for alteration? Will it be grante (TN registered vehicle) c) Is Osram night breaker or Hyperwhite will give the same light and comfort? d) Are they illegal? e) Any possibility of eye fatigue due to these lights? Assuming all things equal besides the color of the lamp, the xenon lamp would require more energy to operate because blue light has a lower wavelength than yellow and so, contains more energy in each photon.

Where Can I Get A Replacement HID Xenon Arc Lamp Bulb? So I bought this HID kit for my car on eBay for $39. The ballasts are great, but the bulbs were very low quality and died very quickly. Where can I get a set of replacement bulbs without spending an arm and a leg? I googled it and got anywhere from $120-250 for just two bulbs ... that's way too much. Do i need to reduce the power to my 20w xenon lamps? I have 20W xenon puck lights powered by a 12volt 60W transformer. The system is set up to power 3 lamps, but in my application i am only using 2. some of the lamps and housing have overheated and failed. The heat has cracked the crome on the plastic covers. Do i need to reduce the power and if so how would I do that. You can only reduce the power in this instance by installing lower wattage lamps, though I'm not sure there are any on the market. Many of the electronic transfomers sold with the three-light kits won't operate if the total connected load is less than 20W, so if you were to find such lamps, the transformer would shut down if only one lamp were operational. (I am assuming an electronic transformer because they are very common today - a small, light-weight plastic box that connects from the 120V AC to the lights)
They also operate at frequencies much higher than 60Hz, which makes electrical measurements with standard meters impossible - so diagnosing a potential problem isn't an option. One possibility is to install a dimmer designed for electronic (not magnetic) low-voltage lights on the 120V feed, and operate at reduced light output.
Given the variety of badly designed and cheaply manufactured products on the market, I wouldn't be surprised if the plastic is not rated for the temperature of the lamps. For all the trouble of a solution, you may be better off replacing with a system from a major manufacturer.

How do you replace an 03 350z head lamp? I really dont want to go to the dealer for this, so can anyone help me on how to replace an 03 350x head lamps (low beam). HID lamp assembly has a shutter that makes one HID bulb, low and High beam. So that is out besides transformers wiring is different.NOW DOWN TO WORK for regular beam replacement you will need to remove the front part of the fender inner liner. This is easier done with the wheel removed. loosened the inner fender pulled back you will notice a round gray plug cap on the back side of the head light mark the closed position with a marking pen twist anticlockwise till that cap stops place a second line open position and pull the cap off of its o ring unplug the wire going to the bulb unclasp the spring clip remove the bulb / Replace the bulb with the same wattage and replace the cap to the second line marked on the gray plastic cap and pushing in turn in clockwise replace the inner fender liner and replace the wheel tire Assembly torque the lugs to 90 FT# (bulbs like Silvania Silver Star work great) Local Auto Supply. But then you'll want to replace both Brighter white color light. While under the car always use floor jack and place jack stands to hold the weight of the car. Jacks are only for lifting stands are for safety.

Is it possible to fix xenon lamps for a skoda octavia? hi, i just wanna know whether xenon lamps can be fixed for the default lamp base which comes along with skoda octavia.when i asked the dealer he said its not possible but i've seen octavia's with xenon lamps..! thnk you. yes it is possible. i have done that for my skoda octavia ,than Xenon halogen will be the best. its clear and gives white light just like HID
