Victor Fleming: An American Movie MasterVictor Fleming: An American Movie MasterThe full-length, definitive biography of the legendary director of Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz.Victor Fleming was the most sought-after director in Hollywood's golden age, renowned for his ability to make films across an astounding range of genres–westerns, earthy sexual dramas, family entertainment, screwball comedies, buddy pictures, romances, and adventures. Fleming is remembered for the two most iconic movies of the period, Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz, but the more than forty films he directed also included classics like Red Dust, Test Pilot, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Captains Courageous. Paradoxically, his talent for knowing how to make the necessary film at the right time, rather than remaking the same movie in different guises, has resulted in Victor Fleming's relative obscurity in our time. Michael Sragow restores the director to the pantheon of our greatest filmmakers and fills a gaping hole in Hollywood history with this vibrant portrait of a man at the center of the most exciting era in American filmmaking. The actors Fleming directed wanted to be him (Fleming created enduring screen personas for Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, and Gary Cooper), and his actresses wanted to be with him (Ingrid Bergman, Clara Bow, and Norma Shearer were among his many lovers).Victor Fleming not only places the director back in the spotlight, but also gives us the story of a man whose extraordinary personal style was as thrilling, varied, and passionate as the stories he brought to the screen.$29.29

tcm Spotlight: Esther Williams, Vol. 2 (Thrill of a Romance / Fietcm Spotlight: Esther Williams, Vol. 2 (Thrill of a Romance / FieNo doubt about it: this TCM boxed set is all wet. As a collection of movies featuring Esther Williams, MGM's swimming superstar, how could it not be? Six titles, in splashy Technicolor, comprise this daffy musical smorgasbord, all drawn from Williams' glory years as an unlikely box-office draw. Thrill of a Romance, from 1945, is the earliest film of the bunch, a top-drawer production with a coy plot and location shooting in Yosemite Park. Esther's newly wedded to drippy businessman Carleton Young, but when hubby is called away from their honeymoon resort, war hero Van Johnson is nearby--and he needs swimming lessons. Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra breeze through, and (in on of MGM's amusing attempts to add class to the room) Wagnerian tenor Lauritz Melchoir is on hand to play Cupid and sing an aria or two. Or three. (Melchoir has a pleasant screen personality, actually, even if his presence here is absurd.) Fiesta,a Mexican bullfighting tale, is duller and doesn't give Williams much screen time, but it does introduce the agile young Ricardo Montalban to the screen; he and Esther are twin offspring of a famous matador. Musical highlights include a folk version of "La Bamba" and Aaron Copland's "El Salon de Mexico." In This Time for Keeps, Esther is employed in an Aqua Follies show and backed by Jimmy Durante; Forties crooner Johnnie Johnston is torn between pop singing and the operatic expectations of his father (Melchior again). The collection's low point is Pagan Love Song, a 1950 musical seemingly offered to cash in on the tropical-island appeal of South Pacific. Howard Keel belts out his love for Williams with his usual oak-barrel gusto, and there's one crazy you-gotta-see-this-to-believe-it number with (thanks to trick photography) Esther appearing to swim through a series of different underwater sets as Keel sings the irresistible title tune. Lots of cut songs, included on the DVD, suggest how the movie got down to 77 minutes. Million Dollar Mermaid purports to be the bio of Australian swimmer Annette Kellerman, though the plot conforms to nostalgic period pieces of the era: Esther really loves brash Victor Mature, but contrivances keep them apart. If the story is tedious, the numbers are fun, especially the big ballet with water slides, trapeze divers, and all those sparklers going into the water with our star. Busby Berkeley worked on the big set-pieces; gee, what a surprise. Berkeley also did duty on Easy to Love, which has a few delirious musical interludes as Esther chooses between Van Johnson and Tony Martin. Much of it was filmed at Cyrpress Gardens, the Florida resort that also served as a watery backdrop to This is Cinerama. Some of the stunts involved prove Williams had as much in common with Jackie Chan as she did with Fred Astaire (she actually did break her neck on a diving stunt in Million Dollar Mermaid), and her fabulous physique remains impressive throughout these zany pictures. Watch a few in a row, and your head will be swimming right along with the star. --Robert Horton$48.81

FAQ about Victor Spotlight

What does Berto gain by fighting Victor Ortiz? Seems to me that Berto is taking the easy route again by a fighting smaller guy who seems to choke when the spotlight is on him Andre Berto was going to fight Shane Mosley (at the time the #1 Welterweight in the world) before Floyd Mayweather Jr. did. The crisis (tragedy) in Haiti killed that oppertunity, which would have been the biggest of his career. Since then, he has called out Pacquiao and the Mosley/ Mayweather winner. So Berto is fighting who he can at this point. I think what he has to gain from fighting Ortiz is...
A) He gains activity.
B) He gains a win over a name opponent. He beat guys we know like...Estrada, Collozo, Forbes, Urango, and Quitana. He got no credit for his win over one loss opponent Freddy Hernandez, because no one knows him. Everyone knows Ortiz thanks to Golden Boy's early push
C) He also gains a nice payday via HBO.
D) He gains another victory.

Batista number one contender, surprise, surprise!? Anyone else not in the least bit surprised that Batista is YET AGAIN the number one contender for the WHC? Even more predictable then Trips' match at No Mercy. How many years in a row does this man get a push? He's been in the number 1/championship spotlight for the past 2-3 years straight. I don't particulary like JBL, but I was hoping he'd come out the victor. WQ: Do you want Jericho to beat the crap out of Batista? Who do you want to see face Jericho for the WHC besides Batista? yes i want jericho to beat the crap out of him, i would like orton to face jericho

Can anyone list the poetic devices used in this poem? I just need a second pair of eyes.? This is my tenth analysis in a row. I'm not being lazy I just need a bit of help Latin & Soul by Victor Hernández Cruz for Joe Bataan 1 some waves a wave of now a trombone speaking to you a piano is trying to break a molecule is trying to lift the stage into orbit around the red spotlights a shadow the shadows of dancers dancers they are dancing falling out that space made for dancing they should dance on the tables they should dance inside of their drinks they should dance on the ceiling they should dance/dance thru universes leaning-moving we are traveling where are we going if we only knew with this rhythm with this banging with fire with this all this O my god i wonder where are we going sink into a room full of laughter full of happiness full of life those dancers the dancers are clapping their hands stomping their feet hold back them tears all those sentimental stories cooked uptown if you can hold it for after we are going away-away-away beyond these wooden tables beyond these red lights beyond these rugs & paper walls beyond way past i mean way past them clouds over the buildings over the rivers over towns over cities like on rails but faster like a train but smoother away past stars bursting with drums. 2 a sudden misunderstanding a cloud full of grayness a body thru a store window a hand reaching into the back pocket a scream a piano is talking to you thru all this why don't you answer it. Poetic devices: there is one simile in this poem: rivers over towns over cities
like on rails but faster like; the rest of the poem uses metaphor to create an atmosphere.
a trombone speaking to you
a piano is trying to break a molecule
is trying to lift the stage into orbit
around the red spotlights
Musical instruments are not just playing music they are creating their own ambiance, this is very theatrical with the use of words such as stage and spotlights.
The rest of the poem continues with these metaphors: a hand from a dummy in a shop window 'reaches' through the glass to the onlooker.
Fascinating poem, and as I say full of metaphors but only one simile.

Songs that remind you of the Hunger Games? I have posted this question several times but I am still a few songs short on my playlist for the Hunger Games. I have some songs that I love and would like to be on the soundtrack and they are: Who Am I Living For?- Katy Perry.................The Reaping. (I love this song.) Iridescent - Linkin Park.......................Rue's death Set Fire to the Rain- Adele.............. I'm not sure if I should do this one... Let The Flames Begin- Paramore......................... (I just love this song too.) The Rebellion Hurts- Illuminated...................................the tributes entering the arena, having to face everything, spotlights on them. Fences- Paramore..................................................Tributes in the Capitol Decoy- Paramore............................................Katniss using Peeta Conspiracy- Paramore..............................Katniss and Peeta when they think they have won the Hunger Games but the capitol changes the rules on them. (And how Katniss feels in the second book.) why did federer ruin the moment for nadal by CRYING? federer completely ruined that trophy ceremony for nadal by crying like a little child! it was disgraceful and inappopriate especially after losing! i mean he cried for a long time, even when the photos were taken, i mean cry for like a minute but crying for the whole ceremony just spoilt what should have been nadal's limelight! it just took all the attention off nadal and everyone was talking about his crying instead of nadal's victory, winning on 3 surfaces, 6th slam at age 22, etc! nadal did not know what to do during the photo shoot, he did not know whether to smile or not, it was like a funeral picture! i mean crying during the photo shoot is just not on, he had more than 20 minutes after he received the runner up plate to get it together! it was awkward and tasteless from federer! its all well for him to bash guys like djokovic and murray for retiring and being named a favourite in the press, but he cries during the ceremony and then goes into the press conference and says things like "the best player didnt win the 5th set" or "i basically handed him the match", etc! I hope someone will tell him to stop taking away the spotlight from the victor in these slams, it is quite unseemly for an athlete of his distinction. He was always able to celebrate his victories and nadal deserves the same! he has to get used to the fact that nadal is even better than him and seems to be getting better every month! but to cry whether he meant to or not is just very poor, especially crying for as long as he did, i mean it was like when a 2 year old cries when they dont get an expensive toy they want and cries for hours! showing emotions is fine but there is a place and a time for it and needs to somehow control it! crying when winning is fine, but crying for as long as he did after losing showed him to be a sore loser especially after reading his press conference as well! federer needs to show a little humility during his press conference or he will lose his reputation very quick! im sorry but it just looked and felt very bad sportsmanship by roger and reading his post match press conference just made it look worse! Because he is only just getting used to everything no longer being about him. He's not used to NOT dominating the world of tennis. Make way for Rafa I say.
I don't understand why people STILL think he is such a gentleman when he isn't even man enough to big up his opponent - he'd rather say HIS performance was below par rather than admit that his opponent was supreme.
I think, and have thought for a while, that Federer has had his day. I don't doubt that he will continue to compete (he even thinks he will be fit enough to play in the 2012 Olympics), but I think he has to accept that there is only room for one number one and that just isn't him anymore - not just judging by ranking but judging by showmanship and head strength.

But I'm starting to like his new album a bit more.

Y&R Is the old guard exiting stage left? Victor (Eric Braedon) leaving the show. Off to live with Hope/Vic jr. Things seem pointed to Kay (Jeanne Cooper) leaving too. Stroke /off to write book/bonding with Amber likely to include her in the will (a stake in Jabot makes Jill's life nuts). Also leaving - Jack & Sharon from the mansion. Think the Korean Opera did it?More likely Jeffrey still in his housecoat ! Amber stands up to Cane. Danny gets the set's bad hair bug! Neil gets promoted. Vicky not recovering well. Phyllis& Paul in bridal party. Phyl. does a 'mean' Evil Woman impression! Maggie's gut says Jack not the man. David relieved to hear spotlight's on Jack.Nicky looks cute in coral. Enter Chloë, Lilly's new personal fashionnista. I predicted she would twinkle over Cane, but not this fast-she asked him if he was free upon meeting him! She witnesses the crack in the relationship(and her in?) when Neil's chilly to Cane. Had the writers been inspired, Chloë would have been sweet on Lilly, for a less zzz triangle. Enjoy! old guard = the mature actors on the show who have been there long. ie John, Victor and Katherine. And Miguel-he ought to have enough for his own estate by now! lol! Vic is definitely leaving-it was on the cover of a soap mag at the grocery store. Dru will NEVER come back and Gloria's contract is up in March at which time she will either be dead or going to redecorate Martha Stewart's last home away from home! Picture a leopard skin toilet seat. OMG! Victor is leaving? Thanx for the update!

Nick is the son of powerful business tycoon Victor Newman and socialite Nikki Reed. Nick was born on December 31, 1988, but he was aged to sixteen by 1994. In October 2006, Nick married Phyllis Summers after recently ending his ten-year marriage to Sharon Collins. Nick and Sharon have a son, Noah. Nick and Sharon's marriage had been under tremendous strain since their daughter Cassie's death in May 2005. Later that year, Nick began an adulterous affair with Phyllis Summers. An affair that was supposed to be fun, later turned to mutual feelings between the two. Their affair ended briefly, after getting caught by Phyllis' son and Nick's wife. The two decided to part ways, after realizing the pain it caused their family. However, Phyllis later discovered she was pregnant with Nick's child. Fate had plans for Nick and Phyllis, when they were stranded in Los Alamos. Nick and Phyllis discovered they still had feelings for each other when they shared a dance which led to a passionate.. ...kiss. The next day Phyllis decided to share the news of her pregnancy with Nick. The news of Phyllis' pregnancy made Nick recognize his love for Phyllis. Nick divorced his wife of 10 years to be with Phyllis. Nick later moved in with Phyllis at her apartment, to be with her during her pregnancy. The child had been determined to be a daughter. On October 24, 2006, Nick and Phyllis eloped in Los Alamos. Another integral plot element is Nick's business rivalries with his father, Victor, and his older sister Victoria. Victoria and Nick, along with Neil Winters, are now co-CEOs of Newman Enterprises. Phyllis was expected to give birth to her baby on Thanksgiving. However the baby was late, and she was also in a breech position. One night during an ice storm, Nick left Phyllis at the office to get her hospital bag that was at home. On his way back to his wife, he lost connection on his cell phone. While he was driving, he found out that his stepson, Daniel, was in a car accident. ...…Scared for his stepson's life, Nick was determined not to lose him. Nick saved Daniel, and on his way to the hospital, he found out his wife was in labor. Nick desperately wanted to be present for his baby's birth. However, Phyllis had already given birth to their daughter in the elevator at Newman Enterprises, with the help of her ex-husband, Jack Abbott. Nick met his daughter for the first time at the hospital as they were wheeling in his wife. Nick was thankful to Jack for helping Phyllis during her time of need. Nick and Phyllis decided to name their daughter Summer Ann Newman, because of the coincidental fact that she was born during an ice storm, and the fact that Phyllis' maiden name is Summers. Nick was presumed dead from May to June 2007 following the crash of the Newman jet. However, on June 12, Nick regained consciousness and woke up in a cabin in a remote area, thanks to a woman named Logan, who had found him while hiking up a mountain. Nick was eventually... ...rescued, hospitalized and reunited with his family. However, he had some amnesia, not remembering the last two years, and believing that he was still married to Sharon. Nick decided that he was going to do everything in his power to win her back. He did not remember Phyllis or Summer. Nick decided to move back in with his wife and child, but was not willing to sleep with Phyllis. After seeing Phyllis interact with their daughter, Nick began to realize how and why he fell in love with her in the first place. They became husband and wife in all sense of the word, right before Phyllis went to prison on a 6-year sentence (she was released two months later when her conviction was overturned. Since Phyllis left prison she and Nick have joined with Jack and Sharon Abbott in a magazine venture. The magazine called Restless Style is both online and print has been downgraded by Nick's father, Victor Newman after he fired Nick from Newman Enterprises. The latest venture to do... …business with Forrester Creations but after Jack talked with Eric Forrester who was interested until he talked with Victor then he turned Jack down. When Victor hired his other son Adam Wilson as co-CEO tension has rose between Nick and "Adam"(as Victor Jr. likes to be called) since everyone thinks that Victor is now grooming Adam to be the heir to the Newman Enterprises instead of Nick. ------------------------------------ Brief Character History Nicholas was conceived during a night of passion between Victor and Nikki Newman while they were separated and headed toward divorce. Nikki went out of town to have her baby who was born on New Years Eve, 1988. Nick grew up torn between two father figures he loved, his real father Victor and his step father Jack Abbott with whom he lived in early childhood. As a boy, Nick enjoyed soccer and Little League baseball. When he was 10, Nikki sent him to boarding school in Switzerland. Nick returned as a 16 year old with raging... ...…hormones. He was dating Amy Wilson, a girl Nikki liked, who was willing to do anything including sleep with Nick to get him. Then he was introduced to Amy's best friend Sharon Collins, a sweet girl who worked a part time job to help her single paraplegic mother make ends meet. Nick fell for Sharon at first site but since she was dating Matt Clark, he stayed with Amy. Nick ended up winning Sharon from Matt, who hated Nick. Nick and Matt got into a fight, Matt kicked Nick's butt, and Victor swore he would teach his son to box. To get even, Matt raped Sharon. Sharon told no one but a therapist, who tried to help her deal with it. Nikki objected strongly to Sharon, believing her a gold-digger. Mother and son fought, and Nick moved in with his father. Unlike Nikki, Victor adored Sharon and even paid for an operation for her mother which she could not afford. When Sharon and Nick beat out Amy and Matt as queen and king of the high school senior Polynesian dance, Matt took revenge. ...… He told Nick that his virginal Sharon had given up a baby for adoption when she was 16. Nick didn't believe him and they got into a bad fist fight, and both were injured. Sharon admitted to Nick that it was all true, and Nick understood eventually. Sharon and Nick were about to get married when Sharon admitted that Matt had raped her. Nick raced to Matt's apartment only to find him on the floor in a pool of blood. The police arrested Nick, who thought Sharon did it. When Matt came to, he said Nick was the one who shot him. Nick was found guilty and sentenced to 15 years in prison. Sharon and the Newman family were devastated. Victor tracked down Amy who was suffering from a serious trauma. He was convinced it was caused by something that happened the night Matt was shot. Upon seeing Matt, Amy remembered she had shot him after he raped her. Matt fled, Nick was released from prison, and Sharon and Nick married in a small ceremony as a disapproving Nikki looked on. Not long after they married Sharon "accidentally" got pregnant. Nick wanted to wait and tried to talk her into an abortion - but Sharon couldn't do it.. Months later Sharon fell on the ice and went into early labor. When it appeared that their newborn baby Noah was going to die, Sharon's best friend Grace Turner who was now in Genoa City too and Grace's boyfriend Tony Viscardi tracked down Sharon's first child Cassie to help Sharon ease the pain of her loss. They convinced her adoptive Grandmother Millie to allow them to return Cassie, now 5 years old, to Genoa City to be united with her natural mother. But Noah lived, so Grace decided to keep Cassie until the "time was right" to tell Sharon. Grace fell in love with the engaging child, and kept the child's true identity to herself for over a year. One night Nick was out partying with friends while Sharon stayed home ill. Grace was helping out by spending the night in the nursery, but actually plotting to steal Nick. Nick came... ...home drunk and made love to a willing Grace, thinking she was his wife. The next morning when he realized his error he panicked and swore Grace to secrecy. When Cassie's true identity came out, Nick had a hard time accepting her. Sharon moved out, but their love for one another brought them back together and Nick began to love Cassie as his own. Cassie went to live with Sharon, Nick, and Noah. Grace used their secret to get a job as Nick's assistant at Newman, and renewed her attempts to steal Nick from Sharon. Sharon was going with Nick on a business trip, but when Noah fell sick, Grace went instead. Nick was angry with Sharon and allowed Grace to seduce him. Sharon showed up the next morning to surprise him, but was stunned and to hear outside the door Grace telling Nick that their lovemaking was incredible. Sharon moved out with the kids and would not forgive him for his infidelity. Then Cassie's adoptive mother, Alice Johnson, re-appeared and hired lawyer Michael... ...Baldwin to fight for the return of "her daughter." Sharon decided to take back the repentant Nick. Although Alice was about to win custody, Sharon and Nick were able to convince the jobless and flighty Alice that Cassie would be better off with them. Alice gave up her parental rights and Sharon was awarded custody of Cassie. After a waiting period, Cassie legally became a Newman when Nick adopted her. Nick and Sharon bought Crimson Lights Coffee House, the scene of their courtship, to keep it from going out of business and so they would have something to work on together. They later opened a second one in Milwaukee, and have plans for a third. Victor hated the idea because it would take him away from Newman Enterprises. But Nick manages to handle both, as well as being a loving husband and father. So Victor is coming around to accepting it, admiring him for not neglecting his family in the process. In 2000 the Newman's had a scare when Cassie tested positive for... ...tuberculosis, but it turned out be inactive and was cured by antibiotics. Matt Clark returned to town as Carter Mills, disguised by plastic surgery, and worked at Crimson Lights. He teamed up with Nick's old cellmate Larry "Wartman" Warton, both bent on revenge, plus Matt wanted Sharon for himself. Carter date rape drugged Tricia McNeil into sleeping with him, and used her to help set up Nick and put him in jail for selling drugs. Carter became a trusted employee whom they even considered as manager of their next franchise, and Sharon's confidant while Nick was in jail. One evening Carter was invited to dinner at their home, so he arranged for Nick to be very late. While waiting for Nick to arrive, Carter put a date rape drug in Sharon's margarita. Nick arrived just in time as Carter was about to rape the semi-conscious Sharon. Thinking she had drunk too much, Nick sent Carter home and helped Sharon to bed. Weeks later Tricia caught Carter attempting to rape Sharon at a... ...… cabin in the woods where he lured her, but Victor arrived and sent him running. Tricia picked Carter up and drove off a cliff expecting to kill them both. She survived with cuts and bruises, but the evil Carter/Matt had severe injuries and was expected to die. Carter deliberately pulled out his breathing tube, committing suicide to make Nick look like a murderer. With his dying words, he viciously told Nick that he had raped Sharon on "margarita night." But Nick was exonerated by the testimony of Tricia and Larry Warton. Nick, finally out of jail and without the threat of Matt, lavishly romanced Sharon to help her get used to normal life again. Months later Sharon realized she was pregnant. Both knew that if Matt had told the truth, the baby could be his. Nick demanded a paternity test, but Sharon decided the risk before birth was too great, so was willing to trust that it was Nick's and have her baby no matter what. During a fight about this, Nick knocked over a chair, ... ...slammed out the door in a huff and drove off, creating a loud bang as his tire exploded against the curb at high speed. Fearful for Nick, Sharon ran for the door, tripped over the chair, and landed on her stomach. Her baby girl was delivered prematurely and later died. A paternity test showed the baby was indeed Nick's, so the couple split up when Sharon was unable to forgive him for more or less killing their unborn child due to his attitude. Diego Guittierez seemed to be in the right place at the right time whenever Sharon needed a friend. Time after time, when Sharon was in crisis, Diego was there for her, but his intentions were always those of a friend. Just as there appeared to be hope that Nick and Sharon would get back together, Sharon caught Nick kissing another woman in the office at the coffee house and turned to Diego, but he rebuffed her several times. But one time too many, and Diego succumbed and made love with a needy Sharon who was jumping to conclusions... ...… that Nick was having an affair with Grace who she happened to see passing through town. Instead, Nick whisked her away on a second honeymoon, sure that once they were alone they would reconcile. Reconcile they did, but the guilty Sharon had a hard time enjoying herself. Victoria, suspicious of the relationship between Diego and Sharon, feigned interest in Diego. But she fell for him in spite of her intentions, and they began an affair. One day, just as they were declaring their love, Sharon was admitting her dalliance with Diego to Nick. Nick took it very badly, beat up Diego, then called up Grace and let her sooth his bruised ego in bed. Victoria found out and broke up with Diego. All the Newmans found out and took sides with Nick or Sharon as they told the kids they were separating once again. Diego explained to all that would listen that it was only one time, it meant nothing, and he was not the aggressor. No one believed him but Victoria, who forgave him. Unfortunately... ...this meant she had to go against her family's wishes to be with the man she loved. She moved out of the ranch, and she and Diego were temporarily living together in a hotel. Nick disowned her, Victor tried to pay off Diego while comforting Sharon, and Nikki tried to get everyone to give them some space when she wasn't berating Sharon for her foolishness. But two thugs beat up Diego, took the $100,000 Victor gave him, and Diego was later found and taken to the hospital as a John Doe. Victoria tracked him down. Although things didn't look good, as Diego was in serious condition, he recovered. Victoria was looking forward to buying a condo together, but Diego was more interested in revenge against the guys who beat him up. He arranged, with the help of Larry, to coerce Victor into setting them up. The plot worked for the most part, and the thugs were arrested. Victoria decided she didn't like the vengeful man Diego had become and broke it off. Diego hit the road again for parts... ...… unknown. After much soul-searching Nick decided to give his marriage another chance. Bringing flowers and a present for Sharon, he paused at the window of their home to see Sharon kissing Nick's father Victor. Furious, Nick called off any idea of reconciliation. When confronted, Victor took the blame, although the mixed up Sharon was once again coming onto any man who was nice to her. Sharon decided her life was a mess and left town. Cassie felt betrayed and angry with her parents after Nick brushed her off, being more interested in berating Victor than comforting his daughter. She wandered off and fell through the ice on the Ranch pond. Nick finally realized she was missing a long time later, jumped into the pond and rescued Cassie. She was Care-flighted to the hospital and was in a coma for days. Meanwhile in the waiting room, Victor confessed to Nikki that he was caught by Nick kissing Sharon. Slap! "How COULD you?" Cassie eventually recovered, Nikki is at war with... ...Sharon, but forgave Victor. Nick has made up with Sharon, though still has not forgiven Victor. Sharon came home with a new resolve to not be trod on by any Newman again. But Cassie has not forgiven Sharon for abandoning her. Suddenly Cassie's father Frank Barritt came to town and began trying to see her. Cassie wanted to know who he was, but her parents wouldn't tell. Several months later, the Cosmetic Wars began, and tensions were high as nearly everyone's mate was the enemy. Victor was CEO of Newman and wife Nikki worked for Jabot. Jack was CEO of Jabot and wife Phyllis worked for Newman. Neil worked for Newman and then-fiancé Dru worked for Jabot. Not to mention Victoria and Nick whose parents were on opposite sides. Plus Victoria was resentful that Victor passed her over and mentored Nick to take over Newman one day, even though Nick was unable to forgive him for being too close with his wife Sharon. Newman Enterprises outbid Jabot to buy out Satine Cosmetics for Women... ...… Color due to inside information that Dru let slip to Neil. Jabot decided to resurrect a similar shelved project of Ashley's called Tuvia to compete. Payback was had when Dru found out that Newman was trying to woo Satine creator, Damon Porter, as their chemist for the newly named Safra line. Dru stole him away to work for Jabot during Ashley's maternity leave. Jabot was still hurting financially, but saw Tuvia as their savior, depending on their reputation and fine product to put them back in the black. But Victor could not let Jabot win the war, so blackmailed Michael Baldwin into paying off large retailers to give them the prime shelf space normally held by Jabot. With both product's rollout only a day away, Victor felt the need to find very pregnant Ashley where she was nesting at a resort just days away from delivery, to tell her not to worry - which of course made her worry all the more. The next day Safra was selling like hotcakes and finished a close second to Tuvia. …The Abbotts were shocked, the Newmans jubilant. Nick smelled a rat. Ashley knew Victor pulled a fast one. She decided to drive to Genoa City to convince him to stop whatever he was doing to Jabot. Ashley's SUV was broad-sided just outside Genoa City, and Jack and Brad were on the scene as she was cut out of her SUV and rushed to the hospital battered and bruised. As Brad held the hand of the unconscious Ashley, the fetal heart monitor stopped. Ash was rushed into surgery, but the baby, named Robert after John's father, died. Nearly everyone blamed Victor Newman. John Abbott even went out to the ranch and punched Victor in the face. When Ash was told, she blamed herself - especially after Olivia delivered the news that Ash can have no more children. When Victor came to see Ash, she told him to go away! Brad went gunning for Victor to even the score. Meanwhile Ashley had another mental breakdown, as she happily showed people her newborn son which was nothing but a baby blanket, and... ...refused to allow Brad to have a memorial service. Ashley got the help and medication she needed, and returned home. Nick found out about Victor's dirty tricks, and turned him in to the Feds. Just afterward, Victor's brother Matt came to him with news that there father was still alive. After he'd abandoned his family when they were children, Albert had struck it rich and faked his death. But now Albert was really dying in a hospital in Toronto, and thought Victor should know. Victor was coerced into going, and insisted Nick accompany him. Albert turned out to be a nasty old man who still wanted nothing to do with his son. Victor let him know how he'd devastated him and haunted him his entire life, but that he'd become a success in spite of him, then left in tears. Michael Baldwin and Victoria were falling for each other when Victor's illegal activities came out. She was so devastated and disappointed in her father, she left town. Victor felt Nick had betrayed him and... ...disowned him. Nikki confronted Victor that his tricks had lost her $35 million investment in Jabot, but Victor claimed he did nothing wrong - this is how business is done. Unlike the rest of the Abbotts, Ashley let Victor know she was ashamed of him, but held no grudges. Victor was arrested and jailed the day before Christmas and refused bail. When Ashley found out, she visited him and convinced him to quit moping, accept bail and go home to his family for Christmas. Although Michael offered to take the rap, Victor insisted he make a deal with the DA's office to hopefully save his legal career. Nikki gave an impassioned speech at Victor's commercial bribery trial and Phyllis dealt the final blow to her marriage by also testifying on Victor's behalf. Phyllis asked Nick for her job back, but he turned her down. Victor was found guilty and in a last ditch attempt to keep from going to prison, offered Jack $75 million to settle. Jack laughed in his face as it was nowhere near what... ...… they lost. Victor was sentenced to do some major community service. After sentencing John and Ashley raked Jack over the coals for not consulting them about the settlement offer. They attempted to accept the settlement, but Victor pronounced the offer was now $20 million, and they declined. Victor later gave them an offer they couldn't refuse - the $75 million if they would fire Jack. Victor was told to come up with something spectacular for his Community Service project. He found a derelict former paint factory in a seedy part of town, and financed and supervised it's renovation into the Market Street Recreation Center with the help of neighborhood volunteers and young adult children of the Genoa City wealthy. In late 2003 Sharon was shocked realize software entrepreneur, Cameron Kirsten, had arrived in town to make a deal with Newman, and Nick was handling it. It was revealed that while she was gone all those months, she met up with Kirsten in a bar in Denver, they went... ...up to her hotel room, and Sharon ended up having sex with him and being beaten to a pulp. Sharon had been afraid to risk her marriage by reporting it to the police, so she stayed away long enough for her bruises to heal. Cameron began taunting and threatening Sharon that he would tell Nick about "their affair" until New Years eve, when he told her to meet her at a fleabag hotel for another round or else. Sharon met him there, but refused to go thru with it. When Cameron attempted to rape her, Sharon clobbered him over the head with a champagne bottle. In a panic, she dragged the body down the back stairs and hid it behind a dumpster, and before long it was buried in snow. Cameron was declared missing, and Grace Turner arrived in Genoa City looking for him. It seems they were involved in a long-distance romance, and Grace was fraught with worry over his disappearance. Sharon had confided the events of New Years Eve to Attorney Michael Baldwin who kept advising her to go to... ...the police. Instead, knowing the desk clerk could identify her, and because it was beginning to thaw, she moved the body. Sharon made a wrong turn, ended up at a dead end between buildings in a seedy part of town, and was surrounded by thugs who wanted to rape her. She talked them into opening the trunk for a blanket, but they got scared and fled when they saw the dead body inside. Sharon drove off into the night and ended up at a biker bar out by the lake. On the way out after using the restroom, Sharon ran into Grace who hassled her about her appearance and her panicked state. Sharon finally had enough, and took her to the back of the car to show her why she was panicking, but the trunk was empty. Sharon made it home, but was still jumpy for days. Grace dropped by often, accusing her of killing her boyfriend. Sharon began to be haunted by the rotting body of Cameron. Then old friend Larry Warton paid her a visit bruised and beaten, just released from the hospital, asked Sharon... ...… about the body. Sharon, relieved that she wasn't imagining what happened, and gratefully, confessed the whole story. It seemed he had seen her arrive at the bar that night, popped the trunk and taken the body and hid it for her. Sharon was relieved when Larry promised to keep mum. But the haunting kept on, and the police started asking questions. Sharon thought she was going crazy and insisted Larry show her the dead body. Larry took Sharon, accompanied by mother-in-law Nikki, whom Sharon had confided in, down into the wet, stinking, rat-infested sewer, and found the body. Although she could identify the clothes as Cameron's, the face was too decomposed to recognize. Sharon continued to be haunted by Cameron and taunted by Grace until the body was discovered. Much to everyone's shock, the body turned out to be that of Cassie's father Frank Barritt who had stopped trying to see Cassie around New Years, so Sharon became the #1 suspect. At her last haunting prior to her arrest, ... ...Cameron finally said, "Gotcha." to her, and sent her running screaming from the house. Later on after Cameron showed up at the Athletic Club, very much alive, Larry, Sharon, Michael Baldwin and Nick figured out that Grace was helping Cameron with his plot for revenge on Sharon and convinced her to help them expose him. The body was found eventually after it washed out of the sewer, and turned out to be Sharon's X-boyfriend and daughter Cassie's father Frank. Cameron had set Sharon up for Frank's murder! Luckily for Larry, when all was said and done, he was not implicated. But Cameron escaped in his private jet with Sharon held hostage. Nick stowed away in the plane and jumped Cameron. They managed to get him into a parachute, and all three bailed out of the plane. Cameron landed in a tree which broke his leg, but Nick and Sharon made him walk to civilization where they called the police and turned him over. Their harrowing experience made it easier for Nick to forgive her... ...this time, but it didn't take long for Sharon to get back into her life and become bored again. One night she followed Nikki to where she worked as an MC at Marilyn's Cabaret. Finding a secluded spot, Sharon was fascinated watching their best stripper Brittany (A/K/A Marilyn) perform. Sharon began fanaticizing about doing the same, but once Nikki and Nick found out, they tried to point her ambitions in another direction to save her children embarrassment. Nick helped Sharon get a job at Jabot as Spokesperson through Jack, and since Jabot was still in a bad financial situation, Nick was paying her salary under the table. Neil was disappointed when Victor named his son Nick CEO of Newman, and Neil became Chief Operating Officer and Right Hand to the CEO. Victor left town on another quest, leaving Nick in charge. A few weeks later Victor returned to find that Nick let the power go to his head, cancelled Neil's pet projects and refused Neil's advice, causing Neil to quit. Afraid... ...his sister Victoria would return and demand her former position, Nick hired Drucilla Winters as Head of the Cosmetics Division, and Neil was rehired to mentor her. Not long afterward, Victoria returned from Italy. Nick also hired his wife Sharon away from Jabot to be Spokesperson for the Newman Cosmetic Line. Their daughter Cassie turned 14 and began to hang out at Crimson Lights with her 16 year old friends Lily Winters and Sierra. It wasn't long before she was trying to act their age, and was caught being secretive, skipping school, and accepting a ride home with an older boy unknown to her parents, so Cassie was grounded. She had a crush on 16 year old Daniel Romalotti, but he and Lily were getting close - much to the distain of their parents who forbade them to see each other. Word was going around school about a secret party to be held in a park. All the older crowd was going, and Cassie just had to go too - especially since Daniel said he would be there. She managed... ... to talk Nick into un-grounding her for the evening so she could "go to a movie" her long time friend Ali. Sharon didn't go for it, but Nick persuaded her to give in. Cassie ended up at the party to find Daniel drunk on beer trying to get over being separated from Lily. The party ended late, and everyone left. Cassie, who had not been drinking, assured her friends she had a way home, then found Daniel passed out in the back seat of his convertible. Deciding he was too drunk to get home, Cassie took his keys and started the car even tho she hadn't a lesson or learner's permit. CRASH! Since both were thrown from the car, and neither remembered a thing, no one realized that Cassie had been driving. As soon as a bruised Daniel was able to leave the hospital, he was arrested and spent the night in jail. His mother Phyllis bailed him out, beside herself with the thought that the son she had lost for so many years could be taken from her again and imprisoned. Back in ICU after brain... ...surgery, Cassie was fighting for her life. There was hope, so long as infection didn't set in. Suddenly, Cassie sits bolt upright - she remembers - SHE was driving! Daniel is in so much trouble, but she caused the accident. After attempts to tell her mother Sharon or to use the phone failed, she got out of bed, pulls out her IV, and donning her mother's trench coat, staggered out of the hospital intent on finding and telling Daniel! After several hours of worry by her family and friends, and searching by the police and detective Paul Williams, she somehow found her way to Crimson Lights. Lily and Daniel rushed to her as she was near collapse. As the exhausted Cassie attempted to tell Daniel the truth, but all she could get out was "crash." Someone called 911, Nick arrived shortly before the paramedics, and he accompanied her back to the hospital in the ambulance. Anxiously, her family held vigil while Cassie's fever heightened and Newman financed specialists arrived too late to... ...… help. Victor, Nikki, Victoria, brother Noah, and Grandma Doris who arrived from her home in Eau Claire, sadly said their goodbye's and I love you's, and left her alone with Nick and Sharon. One last whisper in Nick's ear that it wasn't Daniel's fault, as he chokingly sang her a lullaby while Sharon hugged her, we saw flashbacks of the adorable child Cassie - the light of their (and our) lives - Cassie slipped away. The memorial service was touching with Grace, Millie and Alice conspicuously absent. Larry was said to be out of town, and messages were left for him. Memorial speeches were given by Victor, Nikki, and Sharon. Noah placed Cassie's doll Cindy on her casket with a tear in his eye. During Nick's speech, which was more a threat against Daniel, he spotted Phyllis who had snuck in the back, spoke right at her, then marched to her afterward and demanded she leave. Jack ushered her out in embarrassment. Sharon handed her loss, mostly just feeling responsible for... ...letting Cassie go out that night and regretful for all the things Cassie missed out on in her life. Meanwhile Nick was angry, refused to accept any responsibility, and was out for revenge against Daniel. Nick took a leave of absence from Newman, putting Victor back in charge. Daniel was charged with vehicular manslaughter. Out on bail, he went into hiding in the Abbott playhouse with the help of Lily Winters. When he didn't show up for his arraignment, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Lily decided to drive Daniel out of town to help him escape. The day after the funeral, Larry showed up at Sharon's door with comforting words about how lucky they were to have Cassie in their lives, and reminded Sharon that he holds Cassie responsible for changing his life. He took Sharon on an exhilarating motorcycle ride to help cheer her up. Victoria accepted the position of Acting CEO at Newman, and Nick took it amazingly well when he returned from tracking down Daniel Romalotti, the... ...… young man he held responsible for his daughter's death. He insisted on firing Phyllis, but after telling Nick off, she retorted, "You can't fire me. I quit." Altho Sharon was comforted by Brad Carlton in Nick's absence, she was thrilled to welcome Nick home. Then Christine came to them asking for the clothes Cassie was wearing the night of the car accident, but Nick withheld the evidence. Nick was too caught up in rage and vengeance to worry about Newman Enterprises, his family, or the defendant's right to a fair trial, only intent on seeing Daniel PAY! Lily was out on bail, and Daniel went on trial for vehicular manslaughter where Christine and Paul failed to prove that Cassie was driving the car. But in a last minute save, Nick turned over the clothes Cassie was wearing that fateful night. The boot she was wearing matched a piece of a heel found under the accelerator, the judge determined that Cassie was driving and let Daniel go free. Lily's parents made a deal to send her... ...away to boarding school in New Hampshire to get the DA to drop the charges against her. While Nick was still angry over his daughter Cassie's death, Brad made plans with Sharon for her return to Newman working with him on the Beauty of Nature project. Nick and Sharon grew further apart while both were haunted by apparitions of Cassie. When Nick decided to return to Newman, Victor made him and Victoria Co-CEO's. Sharon grew closer to Brad and his daughter Abby, and was named Spokesperson for the line. They had a close call with intimacy when in Denver on a business trip, but Sharon was dedicated to working on her marriage. After his declaration of love for Sharon was rebuffed, Brad instead asked Victoria Newman to marry him and she accepted, although Brad and Ashley were not yet legally divorced. On Brad and Victoria's wedding day Sharon let Brad know she was about to be available for him, but was rebuffed and Brad married Victoria, much to her father Victor's dismay. Weeks... … later, Brad and Sharon had a one-night-stand but have not been found out. Brad has rebuffed Sharon's advances ever since but are still confidants. Meanwhile, Nick and Phyllis Summers became attracted to each other, and began a steamy affair. Sharon found out, she and Nick separated. Sharon went to Brad for comfort, and they ended up having sex on a business trip to NYC. But after Daniel walked in finding his mother and Nick half-naked on the couch, the couple decided to call off their affair. After Nick had a vision where Cassie showed him how he imagined life would be had she not died (including a new baby girl named Faith), Nick showed up at home, and Sharon took him back. Nick and Phyllis continued to be thrown together by business, and they ended up stranded in New Mexico. They stopped at a Pepe's Roadhouse, danced and had a great time. The attraction was so great but they resisted and spent the night separately. Then Phyllis turned up pregnant, and broke it to Nick that... …it might also be Jack's, so Nick took a paternity test. When he received the test results he disappeared to think about his options. He returned a few days later, informed Phyllis that he was the father, but that he intended to stay with his family. Phyllis was disappointed, but insisted she could raise their child alone. Jack was disappointed too since he'd always hoped for a reconciliation with Phyllis. Jack began an affair with Carmen Mesta. Nick told Sharon the pregnancy news. She decided she didn't want Nick to stay out of obligation, ran out of the office screaming divorce and ended up in the parking garage pounding the steering wheel of her SUV. Brad discovered her there, and his consoling turned to heavy making out. Sharon saw Nick watching them, but continued on with Brad. Nick decided to tell Victoria that he caught her husband making out with Sharon, but Brad beat him to the punch and confessed that they'd shared a kiss - but that his heart belonged to Victoria. ... ...Victoria seemed to accept that, but secretly consulted a lawyer about how to get Brad's Newman stock if the marriage should end. Nick and Sharon told Noah about the divorce and Nick left to move into the Newman Executive Suite at the Genoa City Athletic Club, but turned up at Phyllis' door instead, and they made love. The next morning Phyllis and Nick showed up at Newman together and told Victor and Nikki about the divorce and pregnancy. Nikki was appalled, but Victor congratulated them. Victoria confronted Sharon about kissing Brad, then fired her from Newman. Sharon went running to Brad who sent her on a mysterious errand to deliver a red tote bag to a car downtown for him. Brad's daughter Colleen confronted him with what she knew about his mysterious past, and accused him of kidnapping JT. Brad explained his past to Colleen, then hustled her and Abby off to the private jet where they met his mother Rebecca, and were jetted to safety in Hawaii. Meanwhile Sharon arrived at... ...Brad's to find the door ajar, and being mistaken for Brad's wife, was kidnapped and held captive with JT in Cleveland. Brad received a call from the kidnapper telling him they had Sharon. Victoria and Brad went back to Newman, and brought Nick and Paul in on the case. Nikki volunteered to take Noah away on a mini-vacation to see her sister Casey to keep him safe and oblivious to the fact that his mother was missing. Brad had to explain to all his past as George Kaplan and that the kidnappers wanted an artifact called the Grudgeon Reliquary. Then JT was dumped on Brad's doorstep as a warning. After they wasted days trying to track down the Reliquary on the Internet and thru art dealers, Victoria decided to create a fake using two other similar Grudgeon pieces. They took the fake to Cleveland and Nick met the kidnapper and his henchman for the exchange at a church. Meanwhile, misled by the kidnappers, Brad, Paul and JT were converging on the shipping crate where Sharon had been... ...… held which was booby-trapped with explosives. They disarmed it in time, then arrived just in time to rescue Nick & Sharon as explosives attached to Sharon were about to detonate. Brad ended up fighting with the bad guys, and killed them both after the head guy admitted he was the Oscar Volkmann, son of the Commandant who was executed after Brad's mother's testimony. All arrived safely back in GC and vowed to never tell what went on for everyone's safety. Nick and Sharon divorced with joint custody of Noah, and Sharon received their house in the settlement. Nick and Phyllis moved into the Tack House on the Newman Ranch so Nick could be close to his son. Nick and Phyllis became engaged, and Nick threw Phyllis a fun engagement party hoedown style modeled after "their place "Pepe's" in New Mexico which included a visit from Rocky the dancing cowboy from there and a ruby engagement ring. Sharon and Jack Abbott began having an affair. After an attempt to get married prior to the... ...6 month waiting period was turned down by the judge, Nick and Phyllis eloped back to New Mexico at Pepe's, and returned to Genoa City married, and looking forward to the birth of their daughter. Paul Williams managed to track Sheila to Argentina in October 2006 and discovered that she had undergone plastic surgery to look like Phyllis Summers, then had killed the plastic surgeon. Paul, later in October, discovered her buying baby things in Genoa City, and followed her to a warehouse where he trapped her in the cell she had constructed with the intention of imprisoning Lauren and stealing her baby Fen. He made her pose for a death photo at gunpoint and made up DNA samples to convince Lauren and Michael that she was killed when struck by a car in Argentina. Paul also let Phyllis and Nick know. Paul kept her imprisoned there undetected until December when Michael put a tracking bug on Paul's car and caught Paul bringing her food. Michael picked the lock and was shocked to... ...discover "Phyllis" behind the bars. Paul appeared and tried to convince Michael that it was really Sheila, but it took a cell phone call to the real Phyllis to convince him. Knowing the authorities can never keep her contained, Paul and Michael shared a secret and the dilemma of what to do with her. Meanwhile Lauren and the real Phyllis were bonding thru their pregnancies as she helped Lauren get thru her post partum depression and anxiety attacks. As a winter ice storm took out the power, Phyllis and Jack became trapped in the Newman elevator. Phyllis had been on her way to the hospital for a caesarean because her baby was in the breech position, but went into labor in the elevator instead. Fearful that the baby would not deliver normally and die, Phyllis implored Jack to cut the baby out of her using a nail scissors. But Jack ended up turning and delivering the baby, who was later named Summer Ann. Meanwhile, Nick was out in the storm rescuing Phyllis's son Daniel from a... ...car wreck. Lily had to do CPR on Daniel while Nick sped them to the hospital. All were united later, Phyllis and baby were fine, and Daniel recovered with only broken ribs. Jack developed a close bond with Summer, and later set up a nursery for her at Newman. As like-injured parties by Phyllis and Nick's affair and marriage, Jack and Sharon began an affair and since were married. And an April remarriage in Genoa City was planned for Nick and Phyllis to make them legal, was postponed due to the disappearance and presumed death of Dru. Detective Maggie Sullivan and Paul Williams began dating, and in her curiosity about Paul's frequent absence "on a stakeout" she tracked him by his cell phone to the warehouse. Sheila conned her into believing she was Phyllis, Maggie let her loose, then Sheila shot her with her own gun. Paul arrived later and was trapped in the cell too by Sheila when he came to Maggie's aid. Sheila then went to Phyllis's, tied her up and waiting for Lauren and... ...baby Fen to arrive, taunting Phyllis about how great it would be to take over her life with her hot husband and new baby. After Lauren arrived she was tied up, and Sheila took Phyllis and babies Fen and Summer to a retirement home where she had an apartment. Michael eventually rescued Paul and a near-death Maggie from the warehouse cell, and they rescued Lauren. While Michael and Paul followed Sheila's walkie talkie signal which she planted to lure them elsewhere, Nick and Lauren with the aid of Kevin enhanced the background noise from her latest taunting call. Nick realized where they were and while they tried to find Paul, Lauren snuck out with the gun Paul had given her for security. Lauren found the apartment, broke in, and confronted the two Phyllises. Phyllis managed to convince Lauren she was the real one, and Lauren shot Sheila dead! Her dying words still taunting Lauren that she would never be rid of her and she had shot the wrong one, lead us to believe that this may... ...have yet been another pawn of Sheila and she may still be out there and a threat. Phyllis is now livid with Michael and Lauren for endangering her and her baby Summer, and refuses to reconcile. Maggie recovered from her gunshot wound and did not tell the police about Paul or Michael holding Sheila in that cell, so they were not charged. The controversial NVP spa project known as Clear Springs had everyone at Newman taking sides. Jack, Victor, Phyllis and Nick's position is that this large development would revitalize a dying town, and Nikki, Brad, and Victoria were opposed as it would wipe out historic structures in the town. Nikki and Neil ran for the vacant Newman board seat to boost the votes for their side, and thanks to Phyllis's blackmail of Brad over his affair with Sharon, Victor's yes-man Neil won, so they appear to have the upper hand on Clear Springs, but Brad got Phyllis arrested for extortion. As part of a plot to bring down Jack, Victor convinced Jack to... ...run for the Wisconsin State Senate. Nikki was in on it, but in her anger at being passed over as a board member of Newman in favor of Neil, she decided to run against Jack. Victor was livid and reminded Nikki where she came from and where she would be if not for him! Meanwhile Jack continues to be visited by his conscience in the form of his dead father John, and appeared to be having second thoughts about the things he has done to control Victor during his epilepsy when he was vulnerable. Jack's campaign manager David Chow pulled a dirty trick by exposing Nikki's porn film 'Hot Hips' on the Internet to discredit her, so Jack fired him. Then Nikki hired him to pull the same sort of tricks on Jack. In what appeared to be a political move at the time, Jack and Sharon were married at the ranch with Noah as best man. Victor and Sharon were scheduled to fly to Clear Springs, then Jack was going in Victor's place, but had to cancel. So Sharon and Nick ended taking the trip instead. ... On the return trip the Newman jet went down in Lake Michigan with no survivors. Sharon surprised everyone when she walked in on the Newmans and Jack just after they'd gotten the news. She was just as shocked to hear that her taking another flight had saved her life, and that Nick was missing and presumed dead. (It has since been suggested that the jet may have been sabotaged.) Noah and Nikki were devastated, but Nikki carried on with her State Senatorial campaign with the help of her campaign manager, David Chow. Victor abandoned them in their grief after Hope called, by taking off for Sri Lanka to search for their missing son Victor Jr. While Victor was away, David fell for Nikki, they got caught kissing by Phyllis and Sharon, and were exposed on videotape. Gloria got Kevin to monitor the security cameras at Jabot, which proved that Jack owned Jabot. So Jack quickly sold Jabot at a loss to Katherine Chancellor. In the end, Jack won the election and became State Senator, but... ...… later left in disgrace when his former step-other Gloria exposed him for falsifying his father's will that cut her out. Nick turned up lost in the woods, found by Internist Logan Anderson and brought back to GC and his family. But Nick lost his memory of the past two years of his life, including his marriage to Phyllis and their baby Summer. Remembering only his love for Sharon, Nick tried to win her back even though she was married to Jack, but Sharon though tempted, wasn't interested. Nick began seeing Phyllis, curious as to why he ever hooked up with this person he remembers not even liking very much. When Noah started acting out for Sharon, Nick agreed to move back in with Phyllis so Noah could come live with them. Nick did not regain his memory, but it didn't take long for him to fall in love with Phyllis all over again. Then Phyllis was tried, found guilty of extortion, and went to prison. But Michael got her off after serving only a few months. Victor returned as... ...… arrogant and controlling as ever, still intent on somehow bringing Jack down. It wasn't until weeks later, and after he'd agreed to sell NVP to Nikki, that Victor discovered Jack had sold Jabot to Katherine, so he had lost his leverage over Jack. Livid with Jack, Kay, and Ji Min for outwitting him, Victor lit into Nikki for not warning him, telling her he only sold her NVP so she would have to sell her Jabot stock, then he could go after Jack, not to please her! Nikki had enough of his pompous behavior, moved out, and have divorced again. Nikki asked David Chow to work for her running NVP, and they became lovers. Meanwhile Ji Min Kim turned up dead in his room at the GC Athletic Club. Victor and Jack were prime suspects One day everyone in GC seemed to be at Clear Springs when its underground parking structure & casino collapsed, trapping several of them inside. Sharon, Jack, and Nick were there to scout for a photo shoot. Nick was knocked out, and Jack pinned by debris... ...but Nick awoke and got him free. Sharon's leg was sprained, but they managed to find an opening in the rubble. Jack levered it open so that Nick and Sharon could escape, leaving him there still trapped. While waiting for rescue, Jack wrote a note to Sharon confessing how much he loved her. Meanwhile Amber crawled out of her crushed car and made her way to an elevator, finding Kay bruised and dirty inside, having been left there while her grandson Cane and JT crawled up the shaft for help. Also trapped were Adrian Korbel with a very pregnant Victoria, and Lauren and Noah trapped with Paul. Nikki and others stood vigil on the outside, waiting while rescuers cleared rubble and tried to get to the victims. Phyllis, still in prison, heard about it on TV, got no answer on Nick's cell, and got the news when she called Victor. Sharon and Nick walked out of the rubble, asking rescuers to go back for Jack. They said it was too dangerous, that methane was escaping and about to blow up, so... ...our hero Victor, went in and rescued his worst enemy. Cane and JT made it out, but Cane fooled them into believing he'd had rescue training in Australia, and went back to rescue Kay and Amber. Sharon and Nick were relieved when Noah came out on a stretcher. Then the dead body of the construction foreman was removed. The reason Cane and Kay were there was to investigate him for shoddy work and kickbacks. Finally Korbel and Victoria emerged, just as the methane blast occurred. Victoria was hit on the head with a rock, knocked out, and rolled down the pile of debris. Still pregnant, Victoria spent months in a coma while her family and fiancé JT held vigil at her bedside. They finally had to decide if the baby should be delivered prematurely to save Victoria. JT and Victor chose to deliver, but Nikki insisted that Victoria would rather her baby live, so it was taken to court. They ended up waiting a couple more weeks until the baby had a better chance, then baby boy Reed was... ...delivered. A DNA test was run and JT was pronounced the father. Reed thrived in the hospital while still comatose Victoria was taken back to the ranch. Nikki and Victor were separated, so Victor lived in the ranch house while Nikki took residence in Sharon's cottage with David Chow forever there in Victor's face. Not long after JT brought Reed home, Victoria woke up. Victoria and JT were married, and they moved back to the loft apartment with Reed. Victor made his new son-in-law JT head of Newman Security by Victor, and Victoria went back at work. The investigation into the Clear Springs disaster found that it was caused by Victor Newman's mining the methane underneath it. It didn't take long for Victor to alienate everyone around him, including Nikki by calling in her loans for NVP and bankrupting her, and he fired Nick as CoCEO of Newman and replaced him with Neil. After Jack lost his senate seat and Nick was fired from Newman, they got together and decided to start a... ...new Internet & Print Magazine. They asked Phyllis to join them, and Sharon requested to work with them later. They named it "Restless Style". Nick bought a dilapidated warehouse which is turning into a money pit, and is financing it and his share of the venture on money borrowed from his trust fund, which he cannot receive until he's 40. They have hired Daniel as a photographer assistant and general go-for, and Amber begged to be hired as receptionist. Victor labeled it foolhardy, and is sure it's going to fail. Victor's son with Hope, Victor Jr., suddenly showed up in Victor's office, accepted a job, and asked to be called Adam so there will be less confusion and that the wrong message wasn't sent. His first assignment was to work with Victoria on the Beauty of Nature project. He is flaunting his Harvard education and superior work ethic in Victoria, Nick and Neil's faces, going over Victoria's head with decisions, and hitting on Nick's wife Phyllis, leaving everyone... ...guessing at Adam's agenda =========================== And that brings us to where we are now. If you can think of something I left out, please let me know. Profiles in the works: JACK ABBOTT, LAUREN FENMORE, JILL FOSTER, SHEILA CARTER, DANIEL ROMALOTTI, ADRIAN KORBEL ............................. Another great job!!
I always wondered how Summer was named "Summer!" I thought it might be due to being born in the winter but I had no idea about the maiden name.
Thanks for profiling Nick for us. I have always liked his character.
As for Bailey, maybe you need to stop watching soaps before your brain turns to mush. You certainly don't want to become like us; the moronic soap watchers who are not capable of reading and comprehending the Spotlights so graciously provided to us.

The character briefly appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in 1999. Victor Newman was only originally intended to be short-term character as part of a six-month storyline, but developed into a regular character. Character history A wealthy and prominent business tycoon, Victor is arguably the most powerful man in Genoa City. Raised as an orphan and determined to be completely independent, he founded and built a corporate empire out of Newman Enterprises. Victor Newman's net worth is estimated to be between $10 to $50 billion. Victor Newman has four children: · Victoria Newman Hellstrom is his oldest child with on/off again wife Nicole "Nikki" Reed. Victoria has been married four times and has had two children: a stillborn daughter, Eve Howard, and son Reed Hellstrom. · Nicholas "Nick" Newman is his second child and oldest son with Nikki. Nick has been married twice and has three children: adopted daughter Cassidy "Cassie" Newman, now deceased; a son, Noah Newman; and Summer Newman, another daughter. · Victor Adam Wilson is the second son of Victor Newman. He is the only child of Victor and his ex-wife Hope Adams. Hope has kept Victor out of most of Victor Jr.'s life, and he now goes by the name Adam Wilson (taking the name of his stepfather Cliff Wilson). · Abigail "Abby" Carlton is the youngest child and second daughter of Victor Newman. She was conceived through artificial insemination. She is the daughter of Ashley Abbott; soon after her birth she was adopted by Ashley's then husband Brad Carlton. Victor Newman has five grandchildren: · Cassidy "Cassie" Newman is the adopted daughter of Nicholas Newman. She was the biological daughter of Nick's now ex-wife Sharon Abbott. Sharon was sixteen when she had Cassie and gave her up for adoption. Sharon's friend Grace Turner went in search of the girl when Nick and Sharon's son Noah was born because he wasn't suppose to make it. He did. Grace kept Cassie after that. Nick and Sharon got custody of Cassie and Nick soon... ·...adopted her. Cassie was killed shortly after she was in a car accident when she was fourteen years old. · Noah Newman is the only living child of Nick and Sharon. Noah has two half-sisters: his older maternal half-sister, Cassie (now deceased), and his younger paternal half-sister, Summer Newman. Following his parents divorce when he was ten, Noah often spilts his time in between his parents and their new spouses. · Eve Howard is the stillborn daughter of Victoria Newman and her ex-husband Charles "Cole" Howard. She was named after Cole's mother. Eve has a younger half-brother Reed Hellstrom. · Summer Newman is the daughter of Nicholas and his current wife, Phyllis Summers. She is the product of Nick and Phyllis' affair. Nick was married to Sharon at the time of conception and Phyllis was dating Jack Abbott. Summer has two older brothers, maternal half-brother Daniel Romalotti and a paternal half-brother, Noah Newman. ·Reed Hellstrom is the newborn son of Victoria Newman and Jeffrey Todd "J.T." Hellstrom. Reed was born months early while his mother was in a coma. Victor originally came to Genoa City in 1979 to help Katherine Chancellor run Chancellor Industries. He brought his wife Julia with him, and kept her a recluse in their ranch house while he worked. Longing for work, Julia took a modeling job with photographer Michael Scott, who was attracted to her. Victor became instantly jealous, and when Julia turned up pregnant, he was convinced that the baby was Michael's. In retaliation, Victor imprisoned Michael in the bomb shelter at the ranch. It was this story that turned Victor into a villain, a character type he has largely stayed true to over the course of two decades. Julia found Michael and freed him from the bomb shelter. While attempting to flee the Newman Ranch, Victor happened upon the pair and a fist fight between Michael, and Victor ensued. Julia got caught up in the crossfire,... ...,and suffered a terrible fall, and had a miscarriage. Blood tests later proved that Victor was in fact the father. Julia and Michael left town. Despite being such a powerful figure in the business world, Victor is largely devoted to his ex-wife, Nikki, and family. Despite Victor having been married to Ashley Abbott, Leanna Love, Hope Adams and Diane Jenkins, he and Nikki always seem to find their way back to each other. Although he is often at odds with his oldest children, Victoria and Nicholas, who both work at Newman Enterprises, Victor manages to remain close to them. He also has an estranged son with Hope, Victor Jr., who Hope hasn't allowed him to see since he was very young. His youngest daughter, Abby, didn't know she was Victor's daughter until she was six years old, and so Abby thinks of Brad Carlton, Ashley's now ex-husband, as her daddy. It came out that Ashley had stolen Victor's sperm and became pregnant through artificial insemination. Victor has currently been suffering from and diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy due to head trauma. Taken advantage of by his long-time nemesis Jack Abbott when suffering from his epilepsy, Victor is now healthy, but occasionally pretends to still be affected by the epilepsy as part of his revenge plot against Jack. In 2007, after the presumed death of Nick, Victor left Genoa City to search for Victor Jr. infuriating Nikki that he'd stay in contact with Hope but not her. When Victor came back he was furious to learn of his wife's affair with her campaign manager David Chow and punched him. Nikki, fed up with Victor's antics, announced she was leaving him. They began the divorce proceedings. Around that time, the district attorney found enough evidence to arrest Victor Newman for Ji Min Kim's death. After that he got on bail and now thinks Jack planted evidence to frame him. On January 21, 2008, Victor's 3rd, and most arduous, divorce from Nikki settled. Soon, after, he ... ...watched his daughter Victoria marry J.T. Hellstrom in his home, but he left to be by Hope's bedside as she suffered her final moments with pancreatic cancer. He met his grown son, Vic Jr. (who now goes by "Adam"), there and after the funeral, left with hopes that Adam, with Victor's strong personality, would come to work at Newman with him. Victor appears currently to be breeding Adam to take Nick's place at the company. At odds with his family, and somewhat uncomfortable with them as a whole, he has found comfort with his newly awake daughter Victoria and her best friend, Sabrina, with whom he has been spending much time. Nick's new magazine venture, Restless Style, is not thought by Victor to be a promising venture, or so he says. Victor subtly and cunningly, becomes the primary saboteur of the magazine. He has an ongoing bet with Adam to see who arrives at the office earlier the most. ================= (More to come have to edit it) =================== Victor was born Christian Miller, first son to a poor and struggling family in Buffalo, NY. After his father Albert left the family, his mother Cora felt the only way they could survive would be to leave one of her two sons with an orphanage. Christian grew up there from the age of 7, forever expecting his mother to return for him as she promised, until he gave up and ran away in his teens. A self-made and self-educated man, he became known as Victor Newman because he had created a "new man" of himself. Victor originally arrived in Genoa City with his wife Julia to run Chancellor Industries for Katherine Chancellor, later became CEO of Newman Enterprises, and is considered the most powerful businessman in town, or maybe the world. Victor was very protective of his young beautiful wife Julia, and kept her secluded at the ranch with their houseman Charlie. Victor was so consumed by his work, he was barely there himself. Julia met and became friends with Brock Reynolds. ... Victor got jealous and had a one night stand with his secretary Eve Howard in retaliation. Brock left town when Julia refused to leave Victor for him. Julia wanted a baby, so Victor got a vasectomy without telling her. When offered a job modeling for photographer Michael Scott, Julia jumped at the chance. For once, Victor didn't say no. Michael admired the dark-haired beauty, and they became close friends. When Julia began talking about her friend Michael, Victor became jealous and started following and watching them. Then Julia turned up pregnant. Convinced the baby was Michael's, Victor kidnapped Michael and held him prisoner in the bomb shelter under the ranch house. Victor had outfitted it with cameras so he could observe and torture Michael by making him watch Victor and Julia making love in their bedroom above. Victor fed Michael sparingly, and taunted him often. Dinner once even turned out to be a dead rat. Michael was later found by Julia and freed with the help of... ...detective Paul Williams. Victor caught Julia on the stairs afterward, accused her of having an affair and the baby being Michael's, causing Julia to fall and miscarry. Later, blood tests proved the baby was Victor's after all. Michael left town, Victor got off scott-free, and Julia left town not long afterward. This intimidating, often called "ruthless", successful business tycoon always wins - every deal, every argument, every business acquisition. If he cannot beat them by other methods, he buys them off. One of his many acquisitions included the takeover of Jabot Cosmetics by buying stock when they "went public", thereby creating a major adversary in Jack Abbott. Through the years, Victor and Jack have vied for one-ups-man-ship both in business and women, but although Jack may win temporarily, in the end, Victor always prevails. In sharp contrast, Victor's personal life includes many marriages and divorces. But the love of his life will always be Nikki Reed, to whom... ...he was introduced by his pal Douglas Austin, when she was a stripper barely out of her teens at the Bayou. Victor fell for her, took her home and transformed her into a classy young lady with lessons and lavish gifts of clothing and jewelry. Nikki spent her days at the piano, her evenings being entertained and taught by Victor, and her nights yearning for him. Though Victor proclaimed no romantic feelings for her, he finally succumbed to her charm, and they spent one night together. Adamant that this was a mistake, Victor found a beau for her in wealthy young Kevin Bancroft. Victor began seeing Lorie Brooks, who unbeknownst to Victor, was writing an expose on him. Prior to their wedding Lori talked Victor into giving her Prentiss Industries (the company Victor had bought away from her former husband Lance) as a wedding gift. He did, and she tore up the manuscript in return. Then she left him at the altar with a note and her ring. Lori was the first person to ever pull a fast... ...one on Victor Newman and get away with it. Eve Howard and her friend Max plotted to kill Victor by poisoning him so that her son Charles Cole, whom she claimed was Victor's, could inherit his wealth. Julia, back in town again, overheard the plot and informed Victor. Too late, he had already been poisoned, but an antidote was found. To entrap Eve, Julia told her Victor was dead and that his body was going to be exhumed for an autopsy. Victor and the police caught them both digging up his fake grave. Max was impaled by a pitch fork trying to escape, and Eve ended up in a mental hospital. Meanwhile Nikki married Kevin, and shortly afterward discovered she was pregnant with Victor's child. Nikki named her baby girl Victoria Nicole after Kevin's grandmother. Pressured by Kevin's mother Allison, Nikki escaped by resuming stripping at the Bayou, Kevin found out and filed for divorce. Kevin's mother Alison faked a porn film of Nikki to get custody of Victoria and disappeared... ...with the child. Rick Daros discovered and informed Alison and Victor of Victoria's true paternity, and found and returned Victoria to Nikki. Then a mobster named Tony DiSalvo showed up with a copy of the porn tape, "Hot Hips." Nikki seduced and married Tony to get it back, but he was killed by Paul Williams and Andy Richards who were investigating him. Rick was in love with Nikki, but and once they began living together Victor had him investigated and discovered he had murdered his wife Melissa. Rick talked Nikki into accompanying him on a trip to the island of St. Croix, but she was rescued once again by Victor, Paul and Andy. Victor sustained a wound in the groin from a spear gun which left him impotent. Nikki and Victor finally admitted their love and married. Eve escaped and interrupted the wedding, but she was captured and it proceeded. Not long afterward, as a gift for Victor who was still haunted by his past, Nikki had Paul research and arrange a reunion between... ...… Victor and his mother Cora and brother Matt, but records showed that his father Albert had died. Once Victor learned the circumstances of his abandonment, he forgave his mother, who died from a terminal illness shortly afterward, and Victor put Matt in charge of one of his companies in Brazil. When Ashley Abbott discovered that her real father was golf pro Brent Davis, she hitchhiked her way out of town with a truck driver. Calling herself Annie while waitressing at a truck stop, Ashley was recognized and John Abbott was called demanding a ransom for her whereabouts. John contacted Victor who tracked her down and brought her to the Newman ranch to recuperate from the trauma. Ashley moved from the ranch when she found her and Victor being drawn to each other. Nikki discovered it and retaliated by having an affair with Jack Abbott. Then deciding to fight for Victor instead, she tried to pair Ashley with Victor's brother Matt Miller. But it was too late. Nikki and Victor... ...had separated, and Ashley and Victor were in love. Then Victor learned that Nikki had an incurable disease, and returned to Nikki to try to make her remaining days happy. Ashley discovered she was pregnant, then found out about the reconciliation. Although Matt volunteered to marry her, Ash decided the only solution was abortion. Meanwhile Victor found out Nikki was in remission, yet still faking her disease, so filed for divorce, intending to return to Ashley. Finding out about the abortion, he berated Ash and caused another nervous breakdown. Ashley found herself without her memory again in a New York City mental institution. Victor's nemesis, Jack Abbott, arranged for Leanna Randolph to write a sensational tell-all biography of Victor under the pseudonym of Nora Randall called "Ruthless: The Victor Newman Story." Ironically, Victor also hired her to write an authorized biography of his life. Without Jack's knowledge, Leanna added an extra chapter to "Ruthless" that... ...…exposed Ashley and Victor's affair, including Ashley's abortion. Nikki, who was pregnant with Victor's baby, hoped that they would eventually resume their marriage. But when "Ruthless" hit the bookstores, Victor assumed that Nikki was responsible and quickly divorced her. In a surprise move, Victor married Leanna Randolph. Because Leanna felt guilty about the expose novel, and really had come to care for Victor, she wrote another book called "Victor Newman - Man & Myth" under her real name. Meanwhile, Victor devised an ingenious way to punish Jack for his role in the publication of Leanna's tawdry book about Newman's life. Victor orchestrated a takeover of Jabot, displaced Jack and made Brad Carlton his superior. A year later, Jack, knowing that Victor was about to propose to Nikki, decided to get revenge by marrying Nikki himself. Victor offered to return Jabot to the Abbotts if Jack would divorce her. Although Jack had fallen deeply in love with Nikki, he reluctantly... ...agreed out of loyalty to his father, John. But a crafty Victor took advantage of a carefully worded loophole in the contract that voided the deal. Time went by and Nikki became pregnant with Jack's baby, but she fell from a horse, miscarried and injured her back. Nikki ended up addicted to pain killers with alcohol chasers. While Victor was embroiled in saving Nikki from herself, Jack and Brad schemed to take over Newman Enterprises. Victor bugged Jack's office, discovered the plot, and collapsed during a fierce confrontation with Jack. Jack smirked and walked out leaving Victor dying on the floor of his office. But Jack's conscience prevailed, he called 911, and Victor was rescued. After Jack discovered Nikki proclaiming her undying love at Victor's bedside, he moved out of the ranch. Not long afterward, Victor and Ashley divorced when she got fed up with his preoccupation with Nikki. Before Nikki and Victor could reunite, she discovered she was pregnant again with Jack's... ...… baby. Nikki and Jack reconciled, but months later while Victor and Nikki were engaged in a heated confrontation, Nikki accidentally fell down the steps and miscarried. Jack was grief-stricken. Realizing that Nikki was still confused about who she loved, Jack moved out. When Jack discovered that an argument between Nikki and Victor had led to Nikki's fall down the stairs, he held Victor responsible, and left Nikki again for keeping it from him. It was clear Nikki would never love anyone the way she loved Victor. After Victor was blasted by Nikki, Ashley and teenaged Victoria, all resenting the control he tried to exert in their lives, he left town. During Victor's trip, he was robbed of his wallet, jewelry, and car. After his car was found with a body inside burned beyond recognition, word reached Genoa City that Victor was dead. But Victor turned up at the Kansas farm of the blind Hope Adams just in time to rescue her from a rapist. Hope was strong and independent, but she... ...needed help and protection alone on her farm. Back in Genoa City a power struggle for control of Newman Enterprises quickly erupted between Jack, Brad and Ashley, while Nikki and Victoria were grieving over Victor's death. Jack gained control of Newman Enterprises, regained CEO of Jabot and made Brad head of Newman. When Victor heard the news, he returned to Genoa City, where he learned from his pal, Douglas, that everyone thought he was dead. After overhearing a conversation between Nikki and his children, Victor mistakenly believed that no one missed him, asked Douglas not to reveal the truth, and headed back to Kansas. Victor's life on the farm was a seldom-seen look at the tender side of Victor Newman. He became a kind and gentle man who was content to live there as a farm hand, growing closer to Hope. Victor's presence created a dilemma for Hope. She was attracted to him, but she accepted a marriage proposal from her longtime friend, Cliff. While wedding plans were... ...underway, Victor arranged to return home for good. When Hope learned of Victor's plans, she told Cliff that she couldn't marry him. Soon after, Hope accompanied Victor to Genoa City. Everyone was stunned that Victor was still alive. Victor fired Jack for taking control of his company. Upset by Jack's dismissal, John and Ashley resigned from Jabot which was still owned by Victor, and made plans to create a rival cosmetics company. Unfortunately, thanks to Victor's interference, their loan application was denied. The stress caused John to suffer a heart attack. Out of love for his family, Jack promised Victor that he'd stay away from Jabot, provided Victor rehire Ashley and John. Years later Victor and Nikki were shocked to learn that Victoria and Cole Howard had eloped to Vegas. Upon their return, Victor revealed that Eve had always claimed Cole was his son. While going through the deceased Eve's belongings, Victor discovered a letter from another man, which cast doubt on... ...Cole's paternity. Victor immediately arranged to have blood tests run on Cole, the other man, and Eve's corpse which proved Cole was not his, and that Victoria and Cole could remain married. Victor proposed to Hope, and Nikki was so distraught by the news that she crashed their wedding and made a spectacle of herself. Nikki considered reconciling with Jack, but he surprised her by announcing that he was ready to file for divorce. Meanwhile, Hope learned that she was pregnant. Victor and Hope were forced to do some serious soul-searching when her doctor said the baby could inherit her blindness. When medical tests revealed that there was a good chance the baby would be born blind, Victor urged Hope to have an abortion, but she resisted, and the tension in their marriage escalated. Frustrated by Victor's remote behavior, Hope returned to her farm in Kansas after she received word that Cliff had been injured in a farming accident. While Cliff recuperated, Hope extended her stay. ...Victor's friend, Douglas, arrived at the farm and pressured Hope to return to Victor. During their argument, Hope accidentally tripped over a chair and had to be rushed to the hospital. Victor arrived to make sure Hope was okay, then returned home. The next day, Hope gave birth to Victor Adam Newman Jr. To Victor Sr.'s disappointment, Hope decided to stay in Kansas and raise their son on her farm, and they were later divorced. Nikki, tired of waiting for Victor to resume their romance, accepted Brad Carlton's marriage proposal. Victor was shocked when he learned that Brad was the mystery man in Nikki's life. To retaliate, he bypassed Brad for a promotion at Newman Enterprises and awarded the new position to Neil Winters. One day Victor received a FAX meant for Jack from his son Keemo, urging Jack to be leery of his new girlfriend Mari Jo Mason, then confronted Mari Jo about it. On Brad and Nikki's wedding day, Victor was shot by an unseen assailant. When Nikki learned of the... ...shooting, she fled her wedding to be by Victor's side at the hospital. As Victor recovered from his gunshot wound, the police zeroed in on several suspects, including Brad and Jill. Brad urged Nikki to marry him and immediately leave for their honeymoon, but Nikki wanted to keep herself available for Victor. Upset, Brad broke off his relationship with Nikki and left town. When the police discovered that the gun used to shoot Victor belonged to Jill, she was arrested. Further investigation cleared Jill, and she was released. Victor's near-death experience prompted him to reevaluate his life. He left Genoa City for several weeks and visited Hope on her farm in Kansas, where she was now married to Cliff. Victor enjoyed spending time with his son Victor Jr., a straight-A student who loved all sports, but Cliff made it clear that the boy thought Cliff was his father. Victor returned to Genoa City and began spending time with Nikki, who assumed that they were finally about to... ...… reconcile. When Victor received word that Cliff had been struck by a drunk driver, he quickly returned to Kansas to lend Hope support. Hope was grief-stricken when Cliff died. Nikki misunderstood Victor's reasons for leaving her, and she resolved to break off with him. She became involved with her gynecologist, Josh Landers, who said that he was a widower. When Josh proposed marriage, Nikki impulsively accepted and they eloped to Las Vegas. Victor tried to stop the marriage, but arriving too late, he decided not to tell Nikki that he was still in love with her. When Mari Jo realized that Chris now had the FAX that could destroy her relationship with Jack, she kidnapped Chris and held her prisoner in a isolated storage area of Newman Enterprises. While Chris was struggling to escape from the gun-wielding Mari Jo, Victor and Paul came to her rescue. Mari Jo was arrested for kidnapping and the attempted murder of Victor and was committed to a mental institution. Ten years after she left Genoa City, Diane Jenkins returned a well-respected architect, admitting her marriage to Andy Richards had ended in divorce. Jack Abbott, who had also gone through several changes in his own personal life including two marriages, was excited to see Diane again. But Diane's memories made her mistrust Jack. To see Diane on a regular basis, Jack hired her to design a lake home for him. Thanks to Jack's continual persuasion and romantic overtures, Diane admitted to Jack that she still had strong feelings for him. They rekindled their romance and eventually became engaged. Then Victor decided to begin romancing Diane, originally to get back at Jack, but he ended up falling for her. Victor offered Diane a top secret assignment to design the new Newman Towers, and mesmerized her with lavish gifts. Victor stole Diane away on business, proposed on the jet, they married in Nevada, and honeymooned in the Greek Islands. While married to Diane, Nikki was shot. ... ... … Victor arranged a quickie divorce from Diane to remarry Nikki on her deathbed, so she could die happy. But Nikki lived. Due to his divorce from Diane being declared illegal, this second marriage to Nikki was voided. A legal wedding was being planned, but Nikki's insecurities about their relationship kept it from ever happening when she requested another baby by Victor. Victor rebuffed the idea, so she had an affair with Brad Carlton. Victor disappeared for months, then returned with a tale of being kidnapped and held in the Arizona desert, but was rescued and then had an affair with Romana Caserez. When he discovered Nikki had slept with Brad while he was gone, he broke it off with her. Victor moved back to the ranch during a family crisis when their grand daughter Cassie was thought to have an active TB infection, and he and Nikki began an affair again. All that collapsed once Victor discovered Nikki was the one who bailed out his arch enemies at Jabot with $35 million dollars. During his marriage to Diane, Victor had a vasectomy behind her back, but made a deposit at a sperm bank prior. After their divorce Diane found out about the deposit, and decided to steal it to become pregnant with the baby he had deprived her. Diane was artificially inseminated supposedly by Victor's stolen sperm. After the baby's birth, Victor insisted on DNA tests which showed baby Christian Victor Newman was not his child after all. Soon afterward, Diane left town with her baby. It was later disclosed that Nikki, with the help of Jack, had employed a detective to get into Robertson Labs and switch the sperm samples. Her attempt to help Victor resulted in Jack being the father when the man grabbed Jack's deposit as the nearest sample to replace Victor's. Nikki and Victor were able to get back on friendly, even romantic terms again. He even bought an engagement ring, but was hesitant to take the big step again. But after a quest that took him all over the country visiting all... ...his old flames, trying to figure out what he keeps doing wrong, he finally popped the question to Nikki once again. They were re-married in September 2002 with a lavish ceremony and reception at The Colonnade Room, sight of their first wedding. As always, a crisis hit the Newman Ranch with the split of Nick and Sharon after she had a one night stand with stable hand Diego. Nikki was continually berating Sharon for her foolishness and siding with Nick, Victor was comforting Sharon and begging Nick to buck up and put it behind him, and Victoria left home with Diego, furious with her father for trying to buy him off. After much soul-searching Nick decided to give his marriage another chance. Bringing flowers and a present for Sharon, he paused at the window of their home to see Sharon kissing his father Victor. Furious, Nick called off any idea of reconciliation. When confronted, Victor took the blame being on pain pills, although the mixed up Sharon was once again coming... ...on to any man who was nice to her. Slap! "How COULD you?" Cassie eventually recovered. Sharon returned home with a new resolve to not be trod on by any Newman again. Nick eventually made up with Sharon. Several months later, the Cosmetic Wars began, and tensions were high as nearly everyone's mate was the enemy. Victor was CEO of Newman and wife Nikki worked for Jabot. Jack was CEO of Jabot and wife Phyllis worked for Newman. Neil worked for Newman and... ...… then-fiancé Dru worked for Jabot. Not to mention Victoria and Nick whose parents were on opposite sides. Plus Victoria was resentful that Victor passed her over and mentored Nick to take over Newman one day, even though Nick was unable to forgive him for being too close with his wife Sharon. Newman Enterprises outbid Jabot to buy out Satine Cosmetics for Women of Color due to inside information that Dru let slip to Neil. But Victor could not let Jabot win the war, so blackmailed Michael Baldwin into paying off large retailers to give... ...them the prime shelf space normally held by Jabot. With both product's rollout only a day away, Victor felt the need to find very pregnant Ashley where she was nesting at a resort just days away from delivery, to tell her not to worry - which of course made her worry all the more. The next day Safra was selling like hotcakes and finished a close second to Tuvia. The Abbotts were shocked, the Newmans jubilant. John Abbott even went out to the ranch and punched... ...… Victor in the face. When Ash was told, she blamed herself - especially after Olivia delivered the news that Ash can have no more children. When Victor came to see Ash, she told him to go away! Brad went gunning for Victor to even the score. Meanwhile Ashley had another mental breakdown, as she happily showed people her newborn son which was nothing but a baby blanket, and refused to allow Brad to have a memorial service. Albert turned out to be a nasty old man who still wanted nothing to... ...do with his son. Victor let him know how he'd devastated him and haunted him his entire life, but that he'd become a success in spite of him, then left in tears. Michael Baldwin and Victoria were falling for each other when Victor's illegal activities came out. She was so devastated and disappointed in her father, she left town. Victor felt Nick had betrayed him and disowned him. Nikki gave an ... ...impassioned speech at Victor's commercial bribery trial and Phyllis dealt the final blow to her marriage by also testifying on Victor's behalf. Phyllis asked Nick for her job back, but he turned her down. Victor was found guilty and in a last ditch attempt to keep from going to prison, offered Jack $75 million to settle. Jack laughed in his face as it was nowhere near what they lost. Victor was sentenced to do some major community service. After sentencing John and Ashley raked Jack over the coals for not consulting them about the settlement offer. They then attempted to accept the settlement, but Victor pronounced the offer was now $20 million, so they declined. Further prodded by Nikki for a reasonable settlement, Victor came up with his final offer - the original $75 million, with the stipulation that Jack could never work for Jabot again. Reluctantly John and Ashley were about to accept, when Jack offered to resign if it would save Jabot. He did, Jabot got the $75 million... ...and Jack has reverted to his past, being the happy-go-lucky unemployed playboy, and occasionally sleeping with Jill. Victor was told to come up with something spectacular for his Community Service project. He found a derelict former paint factory in a seedy part of town, and financed and supervised it's renovation into the Market Street Recreation Center with the help of neighborhood volunteers and young adult children of the Genoa City wealthy. Ashley, living in a dream world, suddenly announced to Brad that their marriage was over, because she wanted to be with her true love Victor. When Victor heard what she did, he confronted Ashley and made her realize that he was happily married to Nikki with no romantic interest in Ashley. Ashley and Brad separated, Ash moved home to the Abbott's, leaving Abby staying in the house with Brad. Victor was enjoying regular visitation with Abby until she fell from a horse on the ranch, and became rather afraid of him. Victor then shocked... ...everyone with his sudden decision to finally turn Newman Enterprises over to his son Nick and the Rec Center to the neighborhood, and left town for another of his quests, leaving Nick in charge. A few weeks later Victor returned to find that Nick let the power go to his head, cancelled Neil's pet projects and refused Neil's advice, causing Neil to quit. Afraid his sister Victoria would return and demand her former position, Nick hired Drucilla Winters as Head of the Cosmetics Division, and Neil was rehired to mentor her. Not long afterward, Victoria returned from Italy. Nick also hired his wife Sharon away from Jabot to be Spokesperson for the Newman Cosmetic Line. After their 14 year old daughter Cassie was killed in a tragic accident, Nick took a leave of absence, and Victor is in charge at Newman once again. Jack offered Victoria the position of Jill's right hand at Jabot, and Victor the task of taking over the CEO position at Newman. Victoria accepted the position at... ...Newman, and Nick took it amazingly well when he returned from tracking down Daniel Romalotti, the young man he held responsible for his daughter's death. Nick was too caught up in rage and vengeance to worry about Newman, intent on seeing Daniel PAY! He insisted on firing Phyllis, but after telling Nick off, she retorted, "You can't fire me. I quit." One of Victoria's first acts as CEO was to hire Brad Carlton. Despite their animosity, Victor approved. While Nick was still angry over his daughter Cassie's death, Brad made plans with Sharon for her return to Newman working with him on the Touch of Nature project, and later was named Spokesperson for the line. When Nick decided to return to Newman, Victor made him and Victoria Co-CEO's. Nikki and Phyllis came up with an idea to create wellness spas under the Jabot umbrella, and took it to Jack who promptly shot it down as not feasible considering Jabot's instability. Phyllis and Jack had it out, and she quit her new job as... ...Jabot Executive of Internet Affairs. So Nikki and Phyllis presented the idea to Victor instead, and he agreed to fund the project, joined the partnership, gave them an office in Newman Towers, and they called it NVP after Nikki, Victor and Phyllis. So Jack filed a lawsuit against them, which was the final split in his on-again/off-again relationship with Phyllis. Sharon signed on as Spokesperson for NVP. Not long afterward Victor became afflicted with Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and was duped by Jack into selling him NVP, with a stipulation that Victor would have final say on all decisions. Victor's epilepsy was finally diagnosed, Nikki was informed, and he was given medication. But he liked the affects of the mini seizures that made him feel uncharacteristically mellow and caring, so he quit taking his medication. He shut off his cell phone and told the family he was going on a trip that landed him in Kansas at Hope's farm once again. Hope welcomed him, and informed him that his... ...son was at soccer camp. Victor stayed on awhile, helping Hope out around the farm and feeling free, happy, and content like he was when they first met there many years ago. One day Hope came in to find Victor on the floor having a seizure, but being blind did not realize it. Victor came out of it in time to fool her that he had fallen, then left to continue his spiritual journey. Some time later Nikki called Hope, looking for Victor, and Hope informed her that Victor had gone to a monastery in India. Victor returned home and began having seizures that make him violent in short bursts caused by his medication he received in India. Rather than experiment with more medications, Victor underwent gamma knife radio surgery which seems to be controlling his epilepsy. Jack was legally unable to own Jabot, so he made an offer through a company called House of Kim, which Katherine accepted. To make matters worse, Jack financed it using a loan from Victor Newman. Ji Min Kim is now on ... ...the scene in Genoa City as the figurehead owner of Jabot. Victor has figured out that Jack now owns Jabot, and is bent on Jack's destruction once again. Ashley was so upset by the collusion that she has accepted a position with House of Kim in Hong Kong, taking her daughter Abby with her. They have since moved to Los Angeles and Ashley is working with Forrester Creations. Victor became determined to find the Grudgeon Reliquary. He and Brad posed as art connoisseurs searching for the reliquary. After some tense moments they managed to fool them and purchase it. They brought it home to Rebecca who found an inscription which was in code. Thanks to Colleen confiding in her art history professor and lover, Adrian Korbel, he solved the puzzle which revealed a treasure worth billions that was concealed in a the catacombs in the Czech Republic. Meanwhile Jana Hawkes suddenly disappeared and so much of her blood was found in the park, she was feared dead. Surprisingly, Jana had... ...been saving up her blood to set this all up. She kidnapped Colleen so that Jana and her father Milan could get to the Nazi treasure in the Chech Republic before Brad and Victor. Once she had the secret code from Colleen, Jana admitted that her great-grandfather, a jeweler, had been forced to etch the inscription into the reliquary, and then afterward, he was murdered by the Nazis because he knew too much. She also admitted that she had killed Carmen Mesta. Then Jana trapped Colleen and Kevin in a walk-in cooler in an abandoned building and set it afire. Altho Jana had fallen in love with him, framing Kevin was her necessary out, and since Kevin had once tried to the same to Colleen, Kevin would be blamed and it would be assumed that he mistakenly got trapped with her this time. Jana's father turned up at the catacombs after Victor, Victoria and Brad discovered the treasure. Milan locked them up, but was killed by the authorities, as he tried to escape with the treasure. As the... ...smoke got thicker, Kevin gave Colleen his water soaked shirt to help her breath, they bonded, and were later rescued by JT and Adrian, and Jana disappeared. Nikki and Neil ran for the vacant Newman board seat to boost the votes for their side, and thanks to Phyllis's blackmail of Brad over his affair with Sharon, Victor's yes-man Neil won, so they appear to have the upper hand on Clear Springs. But Brad got Phyllis arrested for extortion, she was found guilty, and is awaiting sentencing. As part of a plot to bring down Jack, Victor convinced Jack to run for the Wisconsin State Senate. Nikki was in on it, but in her anger at being passed over as a board member of Newman in favor of... ...Neil, she decided to run against Jack. On the return trip the Newman jet went down in Lake Michigan with no survivors. Sharon surprised everyone when she walked in on... ...the Newmans and Jack just after they'd gotten the news. In the end, Jack won the election and became State Senator, but later left in disgrace when his former step-other Gloria exposed him for falsifying his father's will that cut her out. Nick turned... ...up lost in the woods, found by Internist Logan Anderson and brought back to GC and his family. In May 2007 while Victor was mourning the supposed death of this son Nick, Hope phoned Victor to let him know that their son was missing and had been hanging.. ...out with a bad crowd. Victor traced him to Columbia, but he'd disappeared without payint his rent. Victor then traced him to Sri Lanka, went there, and disappeared for quite some time. When Victor returned, he told those who asked that he had not found his son. Victor returned as arrogant and controlling as ever, still intent on somehow bringing Jack down. Victor and Jack... ...were prime suspects. One day everyone in GC seemed to be at Clear Springs when its underground parking structure & casino collapsed, trapping several of them inside. Sharon, Jack, and Nick were there to scout for a photo shoot. Nick was knocked out, and Jack pinned by debris but Nick awoke and got him free. Nikki and others stood vigil on the outside, waiting while rescuers cleared rubble and tried to get to the victims. ... ... Phyllis, still in prison, heard about it on TV, got no answer on Nick's cell, and got the news when she called Victor. Sharon and Nick walked out of the rubble, asking rescuers to go back for Jack. They said it was too dangerous, that methane was escaping and about to blow up, so our hero Victor, went in and rescued his worst enemy. They finally had to decide if... ...the baby should be delivered prematurely to save Victoria. JT and Victor chose to deliver, but Nikki insisted that Victoria would rather her baby live, so it was taken to court. They ended up waiting a couple more weeks until the baby had a better chance, then baby boy Reed was delivered. Victoria and JT were married, and they moved back to the loft apartment with Reed Victor made his new son-in-law JT head of Newman Security by Victor, and Victoria is going back to work now that she is stronger. The investigation into the Clear Springs disaster found that it was caused by Victor Newman's mining the methane underneath it. ... ...It didn't take long for Victor to alienate everyone around him, including Nikki by calling in her loans for NVP, bankrupting her so she divorced him, and he fired Nick as CoCEO of Newman and replaced him with Neil. After losing his Senatorial seat, Jack and Nick got together and decided to start "Restless Style" an Internet & Print Magazine, asked Phyllis to join them in the partnership, and Sharon requested to work with them later. In early 2008, Hope contacted Victor that she was terminal with carcinoma of the pancreas, and he sent specialists to try to save her. But by February Hope called him to come to her in Kansas. He arrived to find her recently released from the hospital, having asked to be sent home to die. It was her last wish that Victor be united with his son who now goes by the name Vic, feeling he finally needed to be told that Victor was his father. Vic arrived, now 27 years old, and was shocked to see his mother's condition, then further shocked and... ...disbelieving when she gave him the news of his paternity. Victor started to get to know his son through Hope on her deathbed. She described Vic to Victor as independant like his father, yet sensitive and vulnerable. It seems that Vic secured his own scholarships to attend Harvard Business School where he graduated from college, then grad school, but still has student loans to pay off. He is now a stockbroker living in New York City. Vic says his passion is business and he firmly believes in following one's passion. Vic and Victor were devastated when Hope passed away only days later. Her death wish was for Victor and Vic to stay together. Before they parted in Kansas, Victor offered his son a job at Newman, but he turned him down. Victor Jr. suddenly showed up in Victor's office, accepted a job, and asked to be called Adam so there will be less confusion and that the wrong message wasn't sent. His first assignment was to work with Victoria on the Beauty of Nature project. ... ...He is flaunting his Harvard education and superior work ethic in Victoria, Nick and Neil's faces, going over Victoria's head with decisions, and hitting on Nick's wife Phyllis, leaving everyone guessing at Adam's agenda. ================ (We all know the events that have followed with Adam, and the introduction of Sabrina into Victora's life.) deble_2000, No the affair is there. Very comprehensive! Old Victor would be proud! ; )
