Crocodile gecko help! WIld caught reptile help! Starved reptile help!? I know its long but i wanted to give some back story to it so you know why he's this way.I know I shouldnt have even bought him but my heart broke finding out he'd been in that hell for over a year. Vector(what i named him) is very skinny. His stomach is sunken. I beleive he's been starved this far...Its so sunken that the skin is all wrinkly there it literally curves inward...If you want pics i can get them.. Ive read/been told they are very hardery reptiles and very rarely have parasites so im not to worried about that(plus if he did have them he'd be dead by name since he's been in captivity for a year+ already. Right now he hasnt eaten anythingD: So ive started him on the Flukers insectavoirous critical aid forumla, he ate about .1cc of that im gonna try to do it a few times a day/night so he can atleast get .3cc a day its not much but i fear that if he takes to much in at a time he'll just vomit it up. My problem with this is he will rub some off and he will shake some off. I've figured out a rythem to get him to lick it off his nose. He's not tame and does bite so im stuck doing it this way(plus im told there skins delicate). I have him set up in a 10 gallon with a heat lamp with a hot spot of 90F(which he LOVES; he didnt have that at the pet store) i have as bedding eco earth(gonna put moss in there tho soon) LIGHTLY misted. I mist it very lightly in the morning just before the Light goes on. He has rocks(again he loves theses; something he didnt have) ones a baskin/hide that i have securly in there. I also have 2 plants hanging and 4 or so sticks going here or there(again he loves these; something he didnt have) in the few days ive had him he's actually perked up alot. t the pet store id been checking him every week going in 2 times a week for 3 weeks and he didnt move from the one spot...i thought he was dead. there he was on a heavily misted 12x12x12, wood chips/mulch for bedding and a water dish glass cage. After i found out he was infact alive i bought him right away. Dont scold me for doing so, I've has such good success with my MBD leo who had a broken jaw and both front legs that i thought i could alteast try. 20 bucks is 20 bucks i figure his life is well worth that to give it a try. My questions are 1) will the Flukers critical aid help any? It did wonders on the MBD gecko. 2) Is there anything else i could try? Im conisdering making the "gecko slurry" of mealworms and pedialite and all that. I just worry that'd be to strong on his tummy. 3) Have you ever had success with wild caught thin/starving reptiles? What are the odds he makes it vs doesnt. Do keep in mind i baby my reptiles so im more then willing to do all i can before i let him go. Any advice or tips would be great ps i know i've only had him a few days but i fear he doesnt have many days left. Again if you want to see pictures i can easily post them..Just be perpared for sad pictures...it amazes me the cruilty of pet stores...ANY advice or tips or anything you can help me out with would be great. PSS i will NOT bring him to a vet. the Vet in my area isnt to great. He told me my MBD gecko was as good as dead that there was no way she'd make it:/ well 2 months later she's a compeletly different gecko thats to the TLC i provided her. He charged me 211 bucks just to be told i should put her to sleep:/ Didn't give me medicine, didnt do any test. the other reptile vet is 4 1/2 away one way and even tho he specializes in Iguanas i know he does see other reptiles...thing is i dont think Vector would servive the right. again thanks for your help/advice/thoughts. this is a repost so no need to answer again if you did just trying to see what others think/say. Also kep in mind his jaw isnt very strong and hes on the smaller size for a adult. Im getting wax worms for him tomorrow and some 1/4 crickets(thats how small) yeah it does me too. If i could i'd buy all the reptiles there coz its getting way to cold here to ship anymore in and it gets so hot quickly this month and august are the only good months to ship animals safely. I am trying every hour but he's catching onto me. Now he'll turn upside down when i get close. Wont run away anymore just that LOL. His colors are ALOT lighter just with the basking light. When i got him he was so brown he blended in with moist eco earth now he's alot normal lookin, still darker then a normal healthy one looks but i think he'll make it...Just gonna take alot of time and effort;D keeping him warm enough and humid at the right level will help alot. Try feeding him hourly while your around since its such a small amount. and maybe a few pin head crickets into his tank. ( gut load them on fish food to up their nutritional value)

Would a laser spot travelling faster than light across the Moon's surface leave a trace of its path as it goes? If a spot from a laser beam focused from Earth on the Moon is caused to travel faster than light across the Moon's surface, would any photons strike the Moon's surface between its start point and finish point? I can appreciate there would be a fall-off in the intensity of the spot as it travels, but if a photon actually strikes the Moon's surface as the spot moves, its resultant vector speed can't be faster than the speed of light, can it? Mez, Yes I agree no information can exceed the speed of light. Looking at your questions, it appears that most would regard the light spot as possessing no material existence. Light however is energy and possesses momentum. Although a photon has no rest mass and must travel instantly at the speed of light; energy is another form of mass, E=mc^2, and all that. So light exerts pressure and is certainly a physical entity and perhaps essentially material especially when it interacts with matter, as a laser spot would on the surface of the Moon. Randy P, Yes, I see clearly what you are saying, but you've ignored the sideways velocity of the photon, which common sense tells us, horizontally across the Moon it is moving perhaps several times the speed of light before it strikes the Moon's surface. I know photons can't travel faster than light, so do any photons strike the Moon's surface, or does the spot simply blink out and blink on again, with no trace of it in between. I think the spot will become dimmer as it moves for the reasons you suggest, i.e. the widening of the spread of photons due to angular velocity of the source of the beam. If so it makes one wonder at the intensity of the rotating source of a beam emitted by a pulsar thousands of light years distant. So once underway from a rotational source, each photon travels in a straight line from source to object (ignoring gravitational influences), the beam of photons fanning out to lower and lower intensity as the distance increases, and the moving spot becoming dimmer with rotational velocity. See with these guys there jaws arent that strong at all so im sceptical he'll even eat mealworms. I think he could manage waxxies but as of right now he's not taking food@.@ hes THAT far starved. Ive never seen a thin animal ever refuse food. thing with him is he may have parasites, tho its slim theres still the possiblity and im really nervious because i do have 22 other reptiles. Hes in his own tank but its buy one of my leos tanks so if its air born there could be a problem. I think its awesome you bought him. People act like buying a sick or injured animal is going to keep the pet shops in business, but I'm sorry to say, pet shops aren't going anywhere so you might as well help a mistreated animal out if you can. I've actually had fairly good results with the gecko slurry. I'm sure you can find the recipe on line, but if not I can post it for you. Another thing you should do is raise the heat in his cage. Anytime a reptile is hurt/sick. raising the heat higher than normal helps them heal. Besides that, all you can do is keep up what your doing. Also, Wax worms and super worms have a lot more fat in them so they are also very good for getting weight on a thin reptile. Good luck, and I hope the little fella makes it. Even if he doesn't he'll have a much more comfortable last few days than he would in that hellhole of a petstore.

how do i charge my vector sport spot 3 million candle power spot light plugging into wall not working? i dont have instruction manual the light is 12 volt I have a 3 million spot light that has a house plug & a car plug and it only will charge in the car. The light is even on and it still won't charge. So if you have a car charger on that just charge it in the car.

Would this breaking the speed of light experiment work? it is obvious that one cannot reach the speed of light in a vehicle starting from rest but check this idea out: you build two hypothetical gigundously powerful rockets floating in space and then you blast them in opposite directions from each other. neither one actually reaches the speed of light with regard to the spot they took off from (remember velocity is a vector quantity) but because they are moving away from each other once they reach 1/2 the velocity of light they would vanish from each others existence right? please note i have only taken mechanics not relativity or quatum physics but it is on my agenda so ridicule my far out ideas as much as you like You are asking if they each hit half the speed of light, moving in opposite directions, right?
No, they would not vanish from each other's existences. First, the wacky thing about the speed of light is that it is NOT relative...You could be moving toward it, or away from it, and you will still clock the same speed, therefore, they aren't together going the speed of light...they are completely independent of each other.
I am not a physics expert, so I can't reall present the theorems to you in a way that any coherent person could understand, but I hope that I have made some sense.
