"This tactic relies on the U.S. first responders' initiative to rescue or save a human life and subsequently creates a physical gap - which generally takes two weeks to repair - to use for border breaching." The cartels also use torches in backpacks to cut through fences and tamale stands and personal watercraft for surveillance, the report said. They ship drugs through sewers and may be planning to send them into the U.S. on the backs of men parachuting out of planes. Cartels already have used hang gliders and other ultralight aircraft to move narcotics into the U.S. These craft can carry about 200 pounds of drugs. The report suggested that the cartels were looking to upgrade the technique by using newer equipment, allowing them to bring in bigger loads. "Civilian or military trained tandem jumpers could deliver a payload of 750 pounds, while the delivery aircraft would be able to avoid United States airspace," the report said. "The jumpers would be able to land successfully at desired locations using off the shelf GPS and equipment, and at locations previously inaccessible to ultra-light aircraft. Questions about Ultralight aircraft, light sport, etc.? Hello. Just recently I have become very active in pursuing my childhood dream. To fly my own personal aircraft. So naturally I have some questions. One, i am 14, I could fly an ultralight right, I live near an airport that has ATC and is quite active, do I need something like a radio license due to this? Two, Ive heard of light sport aircraft often, what are they and could I fly one? I like how it looks, its closed and stuff. Four, i am very financially limited, is there something where I could pay off the plane slowly or a program that can help me buy an ultralight like i've heard of EAA's give wings but my email didnt work, supposedly the email was refused :(. Thats all for now. what you ae thinking of is going for your RA license which is recreational license this will allow you to fly any RA aircraft which are also known as light sport. for an average student it will take you about 9hrs - 14hrs of flying time. it averages to be about $150 per hour so it is pretty expensive this is something that you have to finish.
eventually you will want to get your own head gear and things like that this will budget you up to so far about $2500
there is also another way to learn and solo aat your age
it is gliding so much cheaper it may be the harder way to learn but is way better personally i started off with that then went onto GA which is General Aircraft where you can fly both GA and RA planes.
gliding will cost you about $1500 its different from each country
but you make up your own mind personally i would go with gliding the cheap mans way to fly
