You can see it's going to take 3.5v to power these things, most of the smd leds are rated 1.8~3v. Two brand new AA batteries will be a little bit over 3V and with a play and charge kit it should ramp it up a bit. Though i don't see these fitting where 0603 smd leds were. You can try it, but it doesn't look too good. For the best results use a wired controller.

How does an ultra-bright LED work? I understand the basics of how an LED works, but what is it that allows an LED to become extremely bright without "popping" or burning itself out? All it means is the LED is more effeciant than the more common LED's. Usually requires purer material or special rare earth materials to achieve higher efficiency.

the "u" is really "mu" meaning micro.
the "m" means milli
cd = candela
It's a measure of "luminous intensity", or in imprecise vernacular, how bright the display (or segment if specified) appears.
Higher numbers = brighter.

how to make a portable ultra bright led lamp? I´m going to take pictures inside a cave, so there is no light. Tha´s why I need the brightest , smallest lamp i can carry in my back pack, I figure it has to be made out of LED I've done this using a coleman lantern. Make a shield so you can block the light that would go toward the camera. Us a manual setting to open the shutter and walk the lantern down the cave. You can get some very nice pictures doing this.
You can also set up a whole series of flashes that run down the cave. This is the expensive way.

I was wondering if there was a way I can power the LED's via the battery the car is running off easily. I am pretty new to all this, so if there is a pretty easy solution that would be best. P.S. can I use long twisty-ties instead of wire? If you don't want to risk blowing the LED's you need a resistor.
I have no idea what the conductivity of twisty ties are. If they are metal it doesn't hurt to give it a shot as I am assuming you do not have wire. Also I'm assuming you don't have resistors since you are asking to use twisty ties in place of wire.
If you don't care about the LED and just want to see some action then just let the pins of the LED make contact with battery. The short leg of the LED goes to the ( - ) terminal and the long leg of the LED goes to the (+) terminal. You will probably burn the LED out but it will light up before burning out.

How to hook up power, reset, power led, hdd led, on an XFX nforce 680i lt from an Ultra E-Torque ATX Mid-Tower I recently purchased a barebone with an XFX 680i LT SLI mobo and an Ultra E-Torque ATX Mid-Tower Case, but when i press the power button on the case, nothing happens. I konw I hooked up the front headers correctly because I followed the XFX manual to the letter. Maybe you reversed the polarity on the leads; try reversing the pins the power button block is connected to. Oh hah and ya, did you make sure there wasnt a switch on the back of your power supply that wasnt shut off like a master switch?

Ultra bright white LED bad for eyes? someone pointed a cell phone light at my eye for a quick second and it says that it is an ultra bright white led light but it doesn't look extremely bright, I'm just wondering if it would be bad to look at it for more than a quick second No...don't worry about it.
Prolonged exposure to very bright light can cause retinal damage, but you would really have to force yourself to look at a bright light that long.
A second or two is no problem.

Can the human eye see ultra violet light? I want to buy an ultra violet led light, but I forgot if humans can see it or not due to the high frequency. I want to attach it to my Xbox controller, so it'll flash a bright purple light. No the human eye cannot directly see ultra violet light. Google it if you want more information.
