I have a motorcycle with a tubular/barrel type key. I'd like to have a duplicate key made..? Can a locksmith cut a tubular key blank for me or will I have to get a new key from the (Harley) dealer? Thanks. Any good locksmith can if they have the proper size blank. With the number off the key, any Harley dealer will order you one from the factory.

I understand the process of cutting a conventional key blank. But how is a tubular key cut? What is the process and equipment used for cutting a tubular (barrel) key blank? Thanks. Cylindrical keys can be cut- it just takes a different machine.
Most locksmiths have these and can make dupes for you for just a few bucks each. $3-$4 usually.
However- you need to go to a locksmith. The local hardware store probably doesn't have one of these machines. Call the locksmith beforehand to make sure.

Where could I find tubular key to unlock hard drive? I just bought a duel drive power tower and the hard drives have a lock so they can be taken out. Stuck Key in Tubular Lock!!!? I inserted a key into a tubular lock and managed to turn it halfway before it got jammed. After spraying a lot of WD-40 and after a lot of wriggling, it still didn't budge. I've looked at lock-picking websites but they all pick tubular locks that DON'T have keys stuck in it. Anyone with the expertise may comment. The trick is not forcing the key. You have to make sure you are turning it the correct way to remove it. then just bump the area around the key. It should rattle free. unless you have forced it so much that it has locked itself in there.
But I find patience sometimes works. The more you try and force it to get it out..the more it will get stuck.
Make sure the key is straight before trying to pull it out of the cavity.

Does anyone know which tubular key combination number fits the car priority slot in thyssenkrupp elevators? I have a number of these keys for alarm systems and computer locks but I seem to have lost my one for the lift. Would someone be able to help me so I can get a new one cut? Is it possible to replicate, or copy a tubular key? A tubular lock is the kind on pay phones and vending machines. Thanks!!! The manufacturer makes sure that those machines are hard for non-authorized people to get their hands on them. That is one of the security measures they feature in their literature.
However skilled thieves appreciate the fact that each tumbler is visible from the front of the lock and pride themselves on being able to pick them open more easily than a standard lock in which the tumblers are one behind the other inside the keyway.

where can i get a Tubular key?? i need one for my bike lock? i got a bike like with the Tubular key, the key that looks like a Q, i lost it when somewhere and now my lock is stuck on my bike... does osh or home depot have the Tubular keys?? You can use a plastic bic pen to open it.

Can I use an old Tubular key to make a tubular lock pick? I broke the key to my safe it is a tubular lock. I was wondering if I could use one of my old tubular keys for another lock and turn it into a key or lockpick that would get me into my gun safe without having to call a locksmith or buy a lock pick. Tubular locks are used on a number of safes, both as a primary means of locking (such as many Sentry brand safes) or as a backup method (for example many imported electronic safes). Either way your not going to have much luck converting a broken key into a lock pick. While some people have had luck heavily modifying a tubular key into a pick with various 'feelers' attached to it, I doubt that is possible with a broken key. Buying a tubular pick is also not the answer, as they are pricey ($75 and up, as you have likely already noticed).
The best thing to do? Take all of the broken pieces to a locksmith who has a store front. He should be able to make you a new key from the broken pieces for a very reasonable price- as little as $4 and tax. If it is a standard diameter, 7 pin tubular key it really shouldn't be too big of a deal for any competent locksmith.
