what could it be making my truck do this? ok so today my radiator popped cause my thermostat broke so no water was getting through , igot the radiator rebuilt got a new thermostat ,gasket, and that red silicone glue ..when put it all back together i ,guess i tightened one of the bolts too tight and it broke off , i drove like 5 miles to go home it started off good but as i started getting closer home the truck started like shaking and didint wanna go when i gave it gas sounded weird and i just put more water and let the truck cool completely started it up again and it sounds fine istill have to put the thermometer back but i mean it sounded fine ,what do u think maybe it was just getting hot??? also the muffler sounded weird kinda like a farting sound,but not after it cooled down it sounded normal...please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its a 1992 ford bronco 5.8l 4x4 fuel injected engine overheated that is why.
farting like as you said is "backfire" cause by extensive heat inside the engine that the fuel ignites before spark is delivered to it.
replace the broken bolts and any other broken parts ,
correct any coolant leak..

19 weeks pregnant and feel like I've been ran over by a truck...? I woke up yesterday and was all stuffy and a runny nose, and today I feel like a truck ran over me. I can't sleep, my whole body hurts, and still have a stuffy nose and I get hot and cold chills. I keep taking my temperature, but I think my thermometer isn't working right, but sometimes it says 99.6 I'm trying to find my sheet my doctor gave me for a cold and what I can take but no luck finding it. I do remember Tylenol Regular and Robitussin DM. I have seen many different kinds of Robitussin DM, which ones can I take? And anything else you know that I could take or help me, would be very appreciated. I know you can take sudafed and benedryl. But hey, just call your doctor and ask to talk to a nurse. At least make sure!

A/C in truck blowing way too cold and freezing the evaporator up? I just bought a 1999 Chevy Silverado and the A/C was modified in it. The previous owner said he wasn't happy with the way it cooled from the factory, so he put in a custom sanden compressor, a variable orifice tube made for 105+ climates, and installed 2 pusher fans behind the grille blowing through the condenser. He also installed an adjustable cycling switch, and set it where the compressor just runs constantly. Anyone know how to set this switch to a normal setting? I stuck a thermometer in the vents and it is blowing 20 degrees in the truck, and when it's 75 outside.

I want to use an Infrared Thermometer to measure Tire Temp After use. But I don't know how to use the results.? I have a Digital Touch Free Infrared Thermometer. I bought it to check my Heavy Truck tires after I stop to see which ones are hotter than the others which may indicate over/under inflation. But I don't know how to analyze the results. What do the fluctuations mean? I am aware of how to measure the temperature however lets assume that I know that tire A is 41C after running about 100 miles. Lets assume also I know that tire a is correctly inflated to 100psi. Now lets say that Tire B after running that same distance is 43C what is this variation in average temperature telling me? Well, I'd like more info about these fluctuations, but assuming you are taking the measurements correctly (holding the thermometer correctly and the same way each time) and in the same areas of the tires each time (measurements in the center will differ from the shoulder with different tire pressures I'm sure you know), I can think of several other factors that would make temperatures differ. You probably know some of these already, maybe just overlooked the others...
Length of time driving before taking temperature.
Speed at which you were driving.
Were you going in a straight line vs driving with a lot of cornering.
Did you turn off the road to take measurements the same way each time or did you maybe turn right one time and left another.
Time of day (ambient temperature differences, amount of traffic and speed, road surface temperature.)
How much other traffic on the road (affects road surface temperature.)
Different air temperatures on different days (affects cooling rate.)
Length of time between stopping and taking the tire temperatures.
Did you take tire temperatures in the same order each time you measured so that there was the same delay between each reading.
Were the streets all dry. (moisture will draw off much heat.)
Did you drive on the same roads each time or did you drive on different surfaces like asphalt, concrete, dirt, smooth, rough. (affects temperature and friction.)
I have used that type of thermometer and I noticed that they should be looking at a flat black surface. Any light reflecting from somewhere and getting into the detector can cause false readings.

You don't say where on the tire your temperatures differed. If tire B is hotter in the center, then it is overinflated. If it is hotter on the shoulder, it is underinflated. A general temperature increase in tire B I would interpret as underinflation because the tire is flexing a lot so it is generating more heat. Try driving less miles, so the temperature differences will stay localized instead of having time to even out between center and shoulder. 50 miles is way more than enough to warm up a tire. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about a 2 degree difference. That can be attributed to experimental error, or somebody spitting on the street and you ran over it shortly before measuring.

Truck heat is acting up? I drive a 2007 Ford Explorer XLT 6cyl. As of lately I am noticing an issue with my heat. If the truck is just running and not moving the heat will not get hot. When I start driving sometimes I can go 2-3 miles and it is still blowing cool air then all of sudden it will blast hot air. Maybe once or twice it has gone to the cool air, then back to hot. Also, I noticed something wacky with the thermometer gage (I think that is what it's called -cold needle at bottom...........hot needle at the very top). Once I was driving and the needle was at the top (hottt) and the indicator light came on in the dashboard. I slowed down and pulled over, once I put the truck in park, the needed went back to the normal temp range. This morning it almost did it again, the needle didn't reach the hot (red) line but it was moving upward. Then it just went back to the middle. What could be causing this? Thanks in advance. First check for low coolant, if it is low, that will cause both concerns. If the coolant is low, there isn't enough in the system to circulate and carry heat to heater core, also it will cause over heating of the engine if there is not enough to circulate to the radiator. You can check the coolant when eng is cold, there should be a line on the coolant reservoir showing where the fill lines are. If it is low, refill with proper coolant, have the system pressure tested asap, and check it often until leak is found. We have seen a few 06 Explorer's with leaking radiator's. But if coolant is not low, take to shop ASAP to find problem. Thermostat could be sticking, or something simple like that. One of my customers had to replace her engine because she ran it hot, It cost her about 3 thousand for used eng. Basically, spend a couple hundred now, or really pay for it later. 2004 Ford F150 Thermometer in dash doesn't always tell the right temp? when I start the truck in the morning the temperature normally reads what is correct but when i start the truck in the afternoon after sitting all day the thermometer always reads alot colder than it actually is outside. After awhile it seems like it will catch up with the temp. Is there a sensor I can clean or replace??? its sounds like a coolant temperature sensor might be bad or malfunctioning

truck wont warm up completely? 1988 chevy c1500 5.7 the truck wont warm up all the way had 3 new thermostats in it, it gets to about 140 coolant temp thats looking at live data feed on a scanner and also laser thermometer in the radiator Have you got another path for the coolant to travel and therefore bypass the thermostat? when a car is fitted with an lpg setup this may be possible. Your fan probably has a silicon oil clutch which has a temp sensing thingo in it which may have gone haywire causing your fan to drive constantly at full speed. My thoughts are that coolant is somehow bypassing the thermostat.

Why doesn't my new truck's a/c blow as cold as my old one? I bought a brand new 2010 GMC Sierra to replace my old 1992 Chevy Silverado. Both are just base model single cab trucks I use for my lawn business. Well using a thermometer, the 92 blows 10 degrees colder than the new one does. I took the truck to the dealer and complained, but they said everything is working properly. The 92 blows 35 degrees, and the 2010 blows 45 degrees. Anyone know why the newer models are like this, or if I just bought a crappy truck. This could be a result of the refrigerant.The 1992 model,may have had an R12 system,whereas later models have R134a.R12 was more effective and certainly better,but due to legislation,R134a now has to be used.Less performing,yes,more enironmentally friendly,yes and certainly cheaper.

HOW DO YOU RESET A THERMOMETER ON A VEHICLE? my thermometer in my truck is reading much to high how do i reset it or calibrate it? the thermometer i am talking about is the one that reads the outside temperature not the engine temp gauge. There is no reset or calibration. It is either a faulty sensor or it has fallen out of it's mounting bracket and is touching the radiator or some other hot thing under the hood.
