Is the canon eos tli better than the canon eos xs? The tli has more mp and seems to be more worth it?

Which camera is better , Nikon D3100 SLR or Canon EOS Rebel TLi D-SLR? I"m looking for a good camera to buy, any idea which one is better?
The best way to know is to try them out.
Stop by a local camera shop, and see if they have both available for testing.
See how they balance in your hands, and how they are to shoot with.
And when it comes to megapixels, don't get lost in the "larger the better" argument, as that's not true.
Sure, for larger prints, such as 16x20 and up, a large Megapixel is good, but for 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, and 11x14, honestly, 10.1 is more then sufficient to pull that off.
Next, price out the lenses, compare them.
If they're similar in price for the lenses you're looking at using for your style of photos, then it'll come down to just straight personal preference.
Either camera is just as good as the other. I mean, honestly, they're both in the same price bracket, and trying to have the constant argument of "What's better, Nikon or Canon?" is just a waste of time.
They're both great. I mean, sure, if you go back to the 70's, when Canon had the king of Amateur SLRs (the Canon AE-1) then sure, Canon was better, they were ahead of the game, and made a lot of distance over Nikon.
The thing is, Canon and Nikon are basically on level playing fields now, and that leaves Pentax and Sony at the bottom fighting for scraps. Seriously though, have you looked at the Pentax Cameras?
They are excellent cameras, and if you do not have any lenses now, then take a look at those. They are less expensive then the Canon and Nikon brands, they offer more features for the same money, they have great lenses, although not as wide in selection as Canon, but their older lenses do fit on the new bodies, some in just step down mode, but when it comes down to cost wise, and bang for the buck, then Pentax may be the way to go.
I use only Canon, as I have all Canon lenses.
My parents are using a Nikon D90, and they love it. I have a Canon Rebel XS and Canon 40D, and really enjoy those.
I have compared the pictures, I have compared the settings, I have compared the features, and you know what I found? They are almost identical. Sure, there are some neat features to the D3100 that the TLi may not have, and there are features the TLi have that the D3100 doesn't have.
So whatever works for you is the one you should go with.
Try not to argue with whether Nikon or Canon is better, as right now, I'll tell you straight. Neither is better then the other. They are both at the top for 35mm DSLR, and no one else can really touch them, unless you're looking for a lesser expensive camera.
And that's where Sony and Pentax step in.

How much would all these tests cost? So I've been doing some research on like IBD and Colitis in cats and the tests that they run look to be the same ones. Any idea how much this would cost me at the vet?

# Serum biochemistry tests to evaluate the general health of your cat and to identify problems in other organ systems
# Urinalysis to evaluate kidney function
# Abdominal X-rays to look for tumors or enlargement of abdominal organs
# Serum trypsin-like immunoreactivity (TLI) in cats to evaluate for pancreatic disorders
# Colonoscopic examination to identify the presence of colitis or colon cancer and biopsy to determine the type of inflammation.
she just has chronic bloody diarrhea, so some of those tests might not be necessary...I'm not sure.
I think you are looking at a very large amt of money if you do this all at one time. Here is how it breaks down at the clinic I work at here in Texas.

Serum Chemistry $68
Urine Analysis $32
(these are costs if testing done in hospital, you could get alot more bang for the buck if you do a group panel test sent out to big lab like Idexx or Antech)
Radiograps inital survey $135, after that per film charges of $60*****see note about ultrasound exam below
Serum TLI is sent out......I think that is around $75, may depend who runs the tests.
The endoscopic exam we don't do, that is sent out to a specialist so not really sure on price.....maybe $200 to $300
it is that much because there is anesthesia and monitoring involved.
*******I always hear the doctors tell clients they can get a better idea of what is happening in the abdomen using an ultrasound exam instead of radiographs....cost may be about the same. Ask the dr about that.
Biopsies and histopath $70-$100 for the biopsy, $100- $150 for histopath
No Idea what meds might be, mostlikely a steriod if IBD
You should talk with you vet and ask what they consider a priority in testing.
