surefire flashlight questions? im looking for a sure fire flashlight with lumens anywhere from 80 to 200 (i know thats a big space) but thre are so many flashlights. not looking to spend more than 200 dollars. if you have had sure fire flashlights before please add input. ones i am kinda looking at are the: 6p LED 6p LED Defender (same just a defence thing on tip) E1L outdoorsman L4 Lumamaxl5 Lumamax and LX2 lumamax. using for camping around house ect I currently have the 6P LED on my firefighting helmet and I am very pleased. Not a lot more I can say about it that Surefire.com doesn't cover, but I'd buy it again in a heartbeat if mine ever broke. The battery life is a LOT longer on the LED version Surefires. I've owned a couple now, and the normal bulbs suck batteries down like crazy. I'd definitely recommend going LED for that reason alone.

Depends on what you want it for. The E1L is going to give you less light, but much longer run time. Also, the light source is an LED, which means that you don't have the color spectrum range that and incandescent bulb has, which means that your range is reduced and objects will appear more "flat".
On the other hand, the E2E is going to give you more light, but only 1/4 the run time. The quality of the light is better, but the incandescent bulb is not as durable as the LED.
Personally, I'd go with the E2E. I've bought two E2Es, and an E2D (same light, except with the crenelated strike bezel, and a click-on switch). It costs more to run than that E1L will--I've already replaced three lamps, and countless batteries--but I think the quality of the light is worth it.
Question about flashlight brightness? What is brighter A SureFire E1L 45 Lumen flashlight or A Scorpion Flashlight at 6,500 Candle Power? 1) http://www.surefire.com/E1L-Outdoorsman 2) http://www.flashlights.com/scorpion/index.htm I don't really understand the two measurements of light intensity nor how to convert between them. Checked a website and it said if trying to decide between 2 lights choose the one with lumen. Lumen is a newer measurment they measure light with.
