A sure-fire way to clean copper bottom on pots and pans? I am looking for a sure-fire way to clean the copper bottoms on my pots and pans. Brasso does work very well. Or you can make your own cleaner.
The thing that removes the oxidation is acid. In the "make your own" the acid is in the vinegar and a catalyst is the salt. I never tried making it because Brasso is relatively cheap and easy to buy at the grocery store. Another product in powder form is "Bartender's Friend" and it works equally as well.

Is there any sure fire way to tell the difference between an American bulldog and a Pitbull? I am considering rescuing this dog from the pound that will be put down on Monday. They have had him for 3x longer than usual already(because he is so sweet....they say and so he seems) He looks like a pitbull to me,but they say he is American Bulldog. He was a stray so they can't know for sure. I have little grandchildren that visit 2-3 times a year and I'm a little fearful of pitbulls. Hopefully seeing pictures of the two breeds will help. There are similarities and I can see how some without extensive knowledge in one breed or the other might confuse them.

Is there a sure-fire way to being hired at Safeway/Woolworths? I've been applying like crazy for all the local Woolworths/Safeway stores in my area and haven't been very successful. Usually I recieve an email just saying no. Although I recently made it to the second interview and still didn't receive the job, I was under the impression that the second interview mean't that you basically had the job. Anyway, does anybody know any sure-fire tips for getting not only hired, but just to the interview? I'm a senior manager in a retail environment - and I'm on the other end of the interview process. There are three things that I am looking for in a potential candidate during an interview :
1. Relevant experience.
2. Attitude
3. Team Fit.
You need to have had work experience that is relevant and appropriate for the job which you apply for. If you have no experience at all - don't apply for a senior job. If you used to have a senior job don't apply for a job of a much lower level. I reject about 20% of potential candidates on this criteria.
You need to have a positive attitude , you need to be able to show this in an interview and unfortunately not everyone comes across well. It takes practice. Get someone to help you and practice being interviewed and be prepared to answer the stock questions like "why do you want this job" or "Tell me what you can bring to the team" . You need to show enthusiasm , and above all exhibit a can-do attitude.If you come across as someone who is just looking for any job - without any real motivation - you can expect not to get it. I reject about 60% of candidates on this criteria.
I also evaluate each candidate in an interview with a view to how well they will fit in with the existing team. If there is something about you that I feel will not work well with my team I will reject you rather than risk disrupting the team that is in place. You need to look at yourself critically and see if you might be someone to which this would apply. I reject about 10% of candidates on this criteria.
Be on-time. Be prepared. Speak nicely. Don't chew gum. Be clean and have clean shoes. Don't pick your nose. Don't mumble. Remember to put your false teeth in. Don't swear. Don't say "like" every second word. Don't be sexist, racist, agist, or any other -ist. Remove your facial piercing jewelery. Don't call me -bru. Don't arrive drunk or stoned. Cover your tattoos if you can. Don't lie , and don't rock on my office chair.

What is a sure fire way to develop a very high vertical jump? I'm talking like David Thompson, Dr. J, Vince Carter, Clyde Drexler, or Grant Hill type of hops! I want to jump out the gym and never come back. Give me some sure fire exercises that will work and none of these workout programs because I've tried a lot of them already. Squats with weights and toe raises. (Both toes on an elevated surface such as a curb and flex/extend your calve muscles by pushing up and down). Is there any sure fire way to tell if someone is being "mean" to you because they are jealous? I hear people say all the time- Oh she' just jealous- that's why she acts like that- but how can you be sure? Some people are just rude to everyone. Also, people who have a big ego anyway are probably more inclined to think someone is jealous even if they aren't because of their high opinion of themselves, SO, again,..is there a sure fire way to tell if jealousy is what's motivating someones behavior? I never used to know what that meant when I was young, that someone is "just jealous." Maybe it's better off not knowing, it means you must be a really good person I would think?!!
But really what it means is that some people might be insecure or feel uncomfortable about themselves, when seeing how well another person shines. And sometimes their instinct is to try and bring that other person down a level, so that they don't feel as insecure or threatened.
They might not know or be able to admit that's what they're doing, and sometimes other emotions are involved so it's not so clear. It's also not so clear sometimes because it is a weakness that wants to be hidden. It will not be revealed as flat out jealousy sometimes.
Jealous or insecure angry people are also called "haters," generally because they do not seem to show support or that they'd want another person to shine. Jealousy can also be in "frenemies." Although some might argue that a healthy level of competition exists amongst friends sometimes, it probably shouldn't go too far though..
So that is what's meant when it's said that some people are "just jealous."
I personally understand it best as them being "haters," because they feel threatened by someone who seems to have more than them in some way or another..

I'm very shy, so it's pretty hard for me to talk to strangers. @_@ To a point you need to over come your shyness to at least say "Hi" to some of your classmates. This will also help you later on in life, such as if you choose to go to college. Because chances are you'll won't know anyone your freshmen year at college. Another way is to join clubs, take sports, be active at within the community. Just make sure that what you take part in is something that you know or think you would enjoy doing. Some places to be active within the community are church,libraries, animal shelters, maybe parks. For example if you like animals then volunteer at the local animal shelter. Above all just be yourself.

Sure fire way of ridding my home of fleas? Can anyone please tell me a sure fire way to rid my home of fleas. They are really bad, purchased and released 6 foggers this past saturday with no luck. Dog has been removed from home, even brushed boric acid on carpets. Had to send children out today due to bites. Someone please help! Can't afford an exterminator, but want to know something that works! Please help! As you've found, flea bombs are pretty ineffective. You want a premises spray, probably something like esfenvalerate or one of the "methrins" (permethrin, deltamethrin, tetramethrin) and an IGR (insect growth regulator) like Nylar (pyriproxifen). Mix with water and apply to carpets, furniture, baseboards. Repeat just the IGR in 6 months. You'll need a pump up garden sprayer to do the job efficiently. The pesticide will provide immediate knockdown of the current adult fleas (which are probably horrible now that the dog's out of the house) and the IGR will prevent hatching fleas from reproducing, thus breaking the life cycle.
Also treat the dog with one of the prescription flea-cides like Program or Revolution. The over the counter ones rarely work well.
You'll also need to vacuum like crazy (and dispose of the bags immediately) and wash bedding, throw rugs, etc.

What is the most sure-fire way to get rid of mites in a reptile's terrarium?
