Note: you also have a .45 ACP speedloader and an extra ProMag 15-round magazine. It would be pretty darn expensive, but would that not be the ultimate sidearm? For punching paper, it would be close to being the best avialable, but for the real world of self defense and combat, you are wasting a lot of money for nothing.

Whats better a Surefire X300 or a Streamlight TLR 1? I want in for a XD(M) .45 ACP with a 5" barrel. Is one better than the other in you preference or are they just the same. I have the TLR-1 (non strobe) and use it on duty. I do not like the switch. A number of my friends purchased the X300 and the switch is much better (in my opinion). The X300 switch can also be activated by touch pressure in a forward direction as oppose to rotating the switch. The TLR1 must be rotated and takes a little more effort and dexterity under stress.
See if you can try it for yourself prior to purchasing.
It is important to practice drawing your weapon from the holster and re-holstering many times to build your muscle memory to account for the extra length of the flashlight. (of course this practice needs to be with a unloaded and double checked unloaded firearm).

glock 22rtf2 with streamlight tlr-1 holster? Ive got a glock 22 rtf2 with a streamlight tlr-1 but i also have a extended threaded barrel. I am having trouble finding a holster any ideas? a shoulder holster would be great but not a utg Blade-Tech sells holsters for Glocks w/ lights attached.

These holster bottoms are usually open; so, the threaded barrel shouldn't be a problem.

Questions about weapon lights...? I finished building my first AR-15 last week. I've been looking into getting a flashlight for it. I like the Streamlight TLR-1 and the Surefire X300. They appear to be pretty much the same light as far as specs go, and close to my price range. My questions are: 1.) What is the best website (cheapest price) to get these things from? 2.) Is the Surefire worth the $140 price difference over the Streamlight? Or is it just like buying the name? 3.) How do these two companies warranty plans compare? Thanks folks... To Mr. Glacier-whatever... Or should I say "God of all things AR-15"... I already have an EOTech sight on my rifle. I don't want a scope on it. I asked about flashlights... You know... for use at night. Thanks for your misdirected sarcasm though... Jackass. I'm using the rifle for hunting wild boar... which are primarily nocturnal animals. I don't want to shoot people. I have a .45 for home defense. I never ran across a hog that shot back. I simply need a light so I can see what I'm shooting at. Next time, I'll spell it out to a tee so I'll get an actual answer to my question instead of suggestions about stuff I care nothing about. I have one of the X300's on my Glock 22. It's an awesome light. Very bright, the LED is great. It uses almost no power. I've had it for about 2 years now and am still on the original batteries. And I end up using the light maybe once a week or so and I flip it on and test it every day. I've had one of the Streamlights also, not that model but one of the older ones. I think the Surefire lights are just better quality. And it will work just fine on an AR-15. They're not "made for" handguns. They're just typically used on them, but it will work just fine on an AR or shotgun. They make a replacement battery door for them with a curly cord and pressure switch just for mounting them on long guns. As far as buying one try ebay. And if you weren't planning on using it for hunting it would be even better. Every non-military self defense long gun needs a light on it. You can't shoot what you can't see. And with non-hunting uses if you can't identify the target as an immediate threat, then you have no reason to shoot it.
