Are High Output solar lights worth the extra money? I am looking at this set: Westinghouse Solar Utopia High-Output Spot Light Set, 2-Piece at Walmart (I know, evil me). But they are $50 for two vs $20 for normal ones. I am really hoping these are totally worth the money because I will be using them to illuminate a flag pole (I am a stickler about flag lighting out of respect for those that deserve it). Is the difference noticeable? Do they stay lit for a long time? Would it do a great job of illuminating a 10 ft tall pole with a flag on top? ( I am really hoping that these work well. I really don't want to run wire to put in hard wired lights because the flagpole is a LONG way from the nearest electrical lines. It would be a MAJOR pain to get electrical power there. )Thanks in advance! Yes, most definately. I had this same problem about "High Output" solar lights. But, I decided to take a chance and go for it. They seem to be a whole lot better than the standard solar lights I use to have. I definately feel like I got my money's worth on this one.

how can I make filters for my house-spot lights? I have spot lights that go on at night right? Well its getting to be Christmas time and I wanted to see if we could put red and green filters on them. You can find it online and maybe locally if you have a film or theatre lighting supply place around. Probably best to get pieces large enough to fold around the front of the lights so the gel goes far enough back to be taped on to a cooler area, or held on with a pieces of wire. If you want strong colours, buy fairly strong coloured gel. Lighter colours are meant only for subtle colour changes.

What is a good flower bush that only grows about 2 feet tall? I am wanting to outline my driveway with a Colorado Blue spruce then a flower bush then a solar spot light then another flower bush then another colorado blue spruce and keep repaeting that on both sides. So I wanted to know a pretty flowering bush that at most grows to 2 foot tall, I prefer 1' -1 1/2 foot , that goes great with a colorado blue spruce. If the area is in the shade of the trees, then Skimmia, or Azalea would be a good choice.
For sun areas Spirea, Viburnum, Weigela, Genista, Heather, Daphne, Leucothoe, Pieris, Potentilla, Rock Rose, and Shrub Rose.
Most shrubs don't bloom for very long. It is best to pick an evergreen shrub, if it is to be on "display" on your driveway.
Give it plenty of room away from your Blue Spruce, because the tree roots will take over and kill the shrubs when they are larger. The shrubs can be maintained to the desired height by pruning.
