how do i change the light bulb on my 2004 saturn ion? checked thre manual...doesnt say...help! which light bulb?

My Saturn Ion is under warranty. My check engine light is on. What do I pay for if theres a big problem? The car is running fine, just the stupid light came on! is there anything that could be deemed my fault? its a 2005 ion. just started the third year. right on target with K's 48000, i'm alotted 24000 a year take it to auto zone or other auto parts store and ask if they do a free OBD test (On Board Diagnostics). if so, they will hook the car to a little machine and it will tell you what the "error message" is that made the light come on. Then you can get a better idea of what is wrong and find out the cost of the problem.
If no place does it free in your area, then you can go to the dealer. you might have to pay for it, but if the problem is covered by the warranty, then they may cover the OBD scan too. Ask before you have it done what the cost will be and their policy about charging if it is a warranty covered problem.
It could be a million things some very cheap and some very not cheap...some of which will be covered by the warranty and some of which won't....you have to know what that error is to find out what's wrong.

saturn ion compression leak check engine light? i have a saturn ion 2.2 leak compression check engine light comes up when driving for like 20 miles, any way to fix the compression without opening the engine. Like put some kind of oil to stop the leak of compression

I have a 2003 Saturn Ion, when I tried to start it a security light came on, and it won't click over.? I tried to start the car and it just makes a clicky noise. The drive shaft won't move and a security light is on. It's a beautiful sunny day in NJ and I don't mind walking but any help with this would be greatly appreciated. The ignition seitch needs to be replaced. If you let it sit with the key on for ten minutes it may decide to start. If it does get to your saturn dealer and have them check it out, even though i know already its going to need an ignition switch.

What would cause Saturn Ion 2005 to stall and check engine/reduce engine power light to come on? A few days ago my car stalled. The reduce engine power light and check engine now light turned on. During this time I could not restart my car or move the gear shift to neutral. I took it to the shop and they could not find anything wrong. The same thing happened today twice. I feel like it is when I go past 2nd gear but I am not sure. Please help me out. take it to a different shop the check engine light would have processed a code in the computer which any decent shop should have been able to find and that would have told them what the problem was

How to Clear the Check Engine Light on a 2007 Saturn Ion? The check engine light on a 2007 Saturn Ion indicates that an irregularity or failure has occurred within the electronic control module (ECM) or computer’s sphere of influence. The ECM controls all engine management functions relative to the operation of the engine to exclude the internal components. All computer operations are electromechanical in nature. In order to turn off the check engine light, the indicated fault must be corrected.
1. Step 1
Insert the code scanner plug into the OBD II socket, which is located under the dash, on the driver’s side just left of the steering column. Turn the ignition key to the run position without starting the engine.
2. Step 2
Press the “Read” key on the code scanner. The scanner will withdraw all present codes. The computer has preset parameters and a diagnostic function. The computer recognizes any irregularities in the form of a descriptive code consisting of a letter followed by four numbers. The letter designates the area and the numbers the defective part.
3. Step 3
Record the code or codes and cross-reference these with the code sheet. Correct all failures and test-drive the vehicle.
4. Step 4
Plug the code scanner into the OBD II port again. Turn the ignition key on, to the run position, with the engine off.
5. Step 5
Press the key marked “Erase” to erase the code and reset the computer. This action extinguishes the check engine light until another failure occurs.

2005 Saturn Ion Coolant Light? When I was pushing down on the gas to climb a big hill, the message popped up. i went to the store and got GM Dex-cool Prestone. it says 50/50 prediluted extended life antifreeze/coolant and it has an orange cap. is this what i'm suppose to use? never refilled anything before That is the correct stuff

The Power Steering light is coming on in my Saturn Ion - what do I do? We have a 2004 Saturn Ion. The Power Steering light is coming on, and when it does, the power steering stops working. According to the manual, we have to take it to the dealer - but we really don't have the money. Does anyone know of something we can do ourselves to try to fix this problem? First of all: @ dave and lodger: ION's don't have hydraulic power steering. 2 thumbs DOWN!!!!!
To answer your question, being that your power steering system is fully electronic, the first place to check is the under-hood fuse box. The power steering system has it's own circuit in the box and I have had a few of them that were blown before. It is a maxi-fuse, but I don't remember the amperage or the location of the fuse, but the lid of the fuse box will say which one is the right one. Check to see if the fuse is blown. If it isn't then I would recommend to take it in to a dealer and have them hook it up to a tech-2.

Saturn 2005 ion Check engine light after changing air filter? i recently changed the airfilter in my car. my first time doing so. and now im getting a check engine light but only after some heavy driving... i checked out the filter and from what i can see its exactly the way it was before hand. maybe not? what are your thoughts? lol sorry by heavy driving i meant going 140km/hr on the highway for an hour. If thats not 'heavy' my bad the oil was changed last week I'll bite. What is "heavy driving" in a Saturn Ion. (and I don't mean a REDLINE). A cabin filter won't cause a code, a true air filter in the box might cause a code if you got the maf dirty or installed the filter upside down. Since I own a 2k5 redline I don't think you can do either of these things with the air filter but I might be wrong.

The airbag light came on in my Saturn Ion 2007? The airbag light came on in my Saturn Ion 2007 with the passenger in the seat after restarting the car and had them get out of the seat it came back on but then went off why is this light coming on this car only has 37,000 miles on it. also the passenger side air bag said it was off.??? What could some of the problems be??? Thanks so much for your help. If you are still under warranty, just take it to the dealer and tell them to fix the problem! You shouldn't have to put up with any quality issues with a car that new. The traction control light had issues on my 2007 Saturn, and the dealer fixed it in a day... most of the time, there are TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) that the dealer has that tells him how to fix common problems with their cars, so it should be no big deal for them to fix.
