Will the lights on this rayovac rechargeable battery charger go out when the batteries are charged? I bought the rayovac easy charger a couple of days ago. Iam trying to charge batteries I bought and the redlights haven't gone out yet which means their charged. It's been 24 hours. For the first charge it will take a long time but just wait and see it shoul go out read the manual- lemme guess u threw out the manual thinking i dont need in structions cuz im no baby well obviously u do lol

Which is the best rechargeable front light in the UK for bikes? Can you please recommend a rechargeable front light which is good for lighting up the road ahead? Not sure if I should go for Cat eye or Smart. I use a Cateye HL-EL610 Single shot Plus, see the attached link.
I've used it at above 30 MPH down hill on an unlit road, so it is quite good.
Using it on low beam or flashing when you have street lights will make the battery last a lot longer.
I've tried rechargeable lights with separate batteries before, and it is a lot of extra hassle whenever you need to remove or fit the lights. I find this one with the built in battery to be much better, the battery life is just as good, and it's just as bright.
EDIT:- Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also use a Cateye EL320 as a back up in case the battery goes in my main light. They are very good for the price, the beam is a bit narrow, but at under £28 it's better than a lot of similar priced lights.
EDIT2:- I've just noticed that the EL610 has been reduced by £10, so it's an even better bargain now. I've had mine for over 3 years, and it's still in good working order.

Can rechargeable Duracell,Energizer batteries be put into solar powered lights outside? I know they work but will the solar energy be enough to recharge it Compared to the batteries that were in them? Was wondering because so far there still working its been 2 days and there almost 2x as bright. If the original cells were Nimh, there is no problem.
If the originals were NiCads, the solar cell may not be able to provide adequate charging current once the initial charge the batteries had when installed has been depleted.
Since each setup will differ, let them be, and see if they work through summer. If not, take them out, and put NiCads back in and use the NiMh for other portable devices.

Can rechargeable AA batteries be used in bike lights? The brand is "Planet". Yes, that is all I use.

Rechargeable batteries can get a memory if recharge them too soon before they run down. I have a light that uses 4 AA batteries and when they start to get dim I turn the light on and run them down even more before I recharge them. Topping the batteries off after every use will shorten their life.

Are regular & solar rechargeable batteries the same? Can both be used in solar garden lights? Can either one be used for use with solar garden lights? Any rechargeable battery will work if its the right size. A regular battery will not work it must be rechargeable. You can buy the batteries at any hardware store or on line at ebay.

I'm charging my energizer rechargeable batteries and the lights of two batteries are blinking.? What does that mean? the light turns off when the battery is fully charged. is something wrong with the charger, or those batteries? the battery is not making a good connection to the charger, and wont charge. if you have some sandpaper or steel wool (or something like that), use it on the ends of the battery to clean them off, then try again. if that doesnt work, try it on the charger connections. they get some corrosion on them if it doesnt get used much.

can i use any brand of aa rechargeable lithium batteries in my solar lights? does it have to be solar specific? yes. there is nothing special about the batteries used in the solar powered landscape lights.
Just do not use a NON-rechargable one, because when light hits the solar charger, it will cause the battery to overheat. Other than that, Lithium Ion, NiMH. NiCd will work fine, just the on time will change. Li Ion has the best output.

Can I use regular AA batteries on a solar walkway light instead of rechargeable ones? what the title says...solar walkway lights are the solar powered lamp/lights people put on their sidewalk and they turn on at night to guide you, it's LED powered. It comes with a rechargeable battery and it says to use rechargeable batteries ONLY. There was a problem, it won't turn on so I changed batteries to a regular AA one (duracell) and it worked perfectly! I put the same rechargeable one back in and it did not work. Can I use a regular AA one? will that mess up the solar? thanks in advance I do it all the time. they won't recharge and the light will be a little brighter but that's it. I have four large outdoor globes with lights inside and for some reason the solar panel won't work so I just use good ol' regular batteries. They last about two and a half weeks.

Where can I get small, rechargeable solar lamps (lights) I could put throughout my home? I'd like to get some small lights (LED???) that can work off their own solar panels and made so that they could be just set out everyday to be charged, then brought in at night. I see no reason that at least minimal solar generated lighting cannot be practical today. I have a yard ornament: a "lighthouse" whose roof and area around the cupola ("room" where the light is) is a solar panel. The light burns all night long. I'd like something like that, say, on a stand about like a downturned flashlight. Its sides could be the panels that charge it, and a small rechargeable battery could be somewhere therein. (The light would be in the top end, and at night, I'd just bring them all in and scatter them about the house to burn all night.) Does something like this now exist? (Is there a company you know of that would be willing to manufacture and sell them?) I'm not wanting these as alternative or substittute light sources. I'm just wanting the equavalent of the little "night lights" like kids like in their rooms at night. Mainly just so I can walk through the house without breaking a toe. If I want full light, I'll just turn on the room light. SO far I just haven't seen any solar powered lights or lamps that provide adequate light for indoor use except for some flood lights that actually give off too much light.
An alternative though is to get a battery operated light (like camping lanterns) and use rechargeable batteries with a solar recharger. This way you can leave the lights in place and just change the batteries.
