800 year old presentation boxes,where to get valued? I have 2 boxes ,one presented from king Richard the 2nd in 1392 and the other from King Edward the 4th in 1472.they are black with gilt writing and made from tin and painted black. What are some interesting, out of the box presentation ideas? I am doing a science project on the sun-earth-moon cycle and our instructions are to create a 10 to 15 minute presentation for the class. He said we can do absolutley anything expect power points. Everyone else in my class is doing videos and our science teacher says it needs to be somethng fun and out of comfort zone. And it needs to be entertaining. Any ideas? Hi there!
When you are asked to think "out of the box", he may not be necessarily looking for more flash and professionally smooth videos. The question may be more focused on the content of what information you are presenting.
For example, when I think of the sun-earth-moon cycle, I think of the following :
1) The affect of the various forces on gravity effects on the earth (for example tides). And you can focus a presentation from the shore of an ocean to show the tidal cycle over the course of the year, then pan out to the perspective of the moon focused on the same tidal view (as an insert visual) and cycle through the same year, then pan out to the perspective of the sun to show the same (with the same inserts). A graph could be generated at the same time to show the cumulative effect of gravity on the tides on that shore.
2) The affect of the various phases of the moon and position of the sun in the sky used to mark the passage of time. How did people before clocks mark how long a day was and how many days transpired? How did they look at the position of the sun as either high or low in the sky and mark the seasons? How did they realize that there are more moon phases (for example, the Full Moon in December isn't always on the same day each year, but cycles) between each winter solstice? "The day winter begins, the shortest day". It may be fun to create a visual from the perspective of Stonehenge and other places around the Earth that show a similar cycle and ask the question "How did all these places seem to understand the passage of time so long ago?"
3) The effect of the the various moon-sun-earth cycles on the number of eclipses that appear on earth each year and display them in a video to see if they have a harmonic flow from the northern to southern hemisphere. If they have a harmonic flow, explain why and talk about the harmonic motion of the planets and how our earth is seemingly oblivious to these motions.
These are just a few thoughts off the top of my head. I think your teacher is looking for a stretch beyond what you know into something that is new and instructional for everyone there. Making it slick won't do it, but I bet you will do well if you work up something along the lines I've suggested. This is what he means when he is asking for some out of the box presentation ideas.

how do you make the notes box in power point bigger during the presentation? The ppt is full screen during the presentation. Failing that, find an antiques or collectibles dealer who specialises in militaria.
Another option would be to find a trophy shop that offers a medal court-mounting service. The process of court mounting medals generally means that the medal won't fit back into it's box again, so they might have a few old ones lying empty in their store-room.
