After a power failure my PC won't turn on at all. Is my power supply fried or could it be something else? You could try to install a new Power Supply unit (about £18) and see if that works, it's cheaper then a new P.C. but without knowing if it's going to work. Hope this helps you.

three red lights and an orange power supply light? My xbox has the very common RROD with three quadrants red. The power supply light is orange. Microsoft told me that all I needed was a new power supply. Well I got one that is compatible (175w) and still my xbox has the red ring of death. You probably have a generic hardware failure and the arabs at xbox support are just reading off a computer screen to tell you what to do. They don't know anything about electronics and they get paid less 25% of what the techs in Redmond WA make in an hour.
Anyway here are some instructions to get your secondary error code from your xbox. With your secondary error code you can better determine what is wrong with your xbox. You don't need to take your xbox apart so this is perfectly safe.
-First turn on the xbox and wait for the 3 red lights to appear
-Then press and hold the sync button while pressing the eject button, the lights flashing will change and blink faster, write this number down this is the first number in the 4 digit error code.
-Press and hold the sync button while pressing the eject button again, the lights will interrupt and then flash fast again, this is the second number in the 4 digit error code.
-Press and hold the sync button while pressing the eject button for the 3rd time, the lights will change and keep blinking fast, this is the third number in the 4 digit error code.
-Finally press and hold the sync and press the eject button one last time to get the fourth digit in the error code.
-Do the button sequence one last time and the 3 red lights will return.
You can go though this as many times as you want to make sure you wrote down the right error code. Here's how to interpret the numbers
1 red light = 1
2 red lights = 2
3 red lights = 3
4 red lights = 0
There are no 4's in any error code. If you wrote down 4142 the error code would actually be 0102.

This guide will also tell you how to fix the error, i'll leave that up to you. If your xbox is with in 3 years of the mfr date on the back then you have an extended warranty and can have your xbox repaired for free.
I don't see why customer support would tell you it's your power supply without proper testing techniques. Any xbox power supply that plugs in to your xbox will work, microsoft designed it that way. I use a 203W to test all of my repairs, the 203w power supply will work with any 360 besides the new slim.

ther is no standby lights..if power failure will it cost me alot? we need a lot more details. are you saying that there was a power failure and that your computer will not boot? If its plugged into a power strip with a surge suppressor check to make sure the button is reset then try booting. If it does not work then you can either take the power supply out and have it tested or unplug everything and take the box in to have the PSU tested. If you fried the PSU then a cheap on will cost about $30 to $50 depending on the quality of the unit...

xbox 360 3 red lights and orange power light? I plug my xbox 360 in and the power pack light is orange straight away. Then I turn my 360 on and all the lights are green, and it starts to work and the menu comes up, then after about 10 seconds the screen goes blank and the 3 red lights flash on my xbox 360. Is this a hardware failure due to the power pack or the 3 red lights of death? It could be the hard drive. I had that issue with the first unit I bought. I had to disconnect the drive and clean the contacts and then reinstall it. It worked for a while after that but the problem came back so I took it back to the store and swapped it out.

power failure? i have a 99 contour svt. i have a 1500 mono amp and 6000 watt subs running in my car, and as i stoped at a light my car cut off and wouldnt start back up until someone gave me a jump, and after that the car ran crappy down the road like it wanted to cut off, so i turned all the lights and everything off and it ran a little better but still ran crappy. do i need a alternator or a battery? believe it or not, bass can set up a few different problems for the car also, along with vibrations loosening bolts up. the amperage returning to the amp passes through several different systems, causing radio noise in several different processors. the charging system could be one of them. bass can set off a check engine light for various reasons. try turning down the radio and see if that resolves the problem, if it does, double check the ground circuits.
