Can I have a Police Bike Siren on my bike (UK)???? I live in the UK, I.e - Britain, but i don't no if there is any law Against if you can have a loud toy police siren on your bike. It has the wael and yelp sounds, ITS CRAZY DUDE!!!, It sounds so real. I am sure someone out there knows, feel free to tell me...THANKS PLEASE GIVE ME THE REFRANCE OF THE INFO.....YO it is most likely gonna be illegal if you use it on the road one way to find out is to just ask one of the local cops but it sure would come in useful during rush hour huh

Yes no San Fransisco Police Department markings on the person or bike just curvilain clothes with a 30 ltr pack. He had Niterider Digital police system lights flashing blue and red, siren screaming and a very bright tail light. He was heading towards Golden gate brigde in a hurry. Do police bike patrol do undercover work, its very unusal to see them without hi viz markings, looked very strange indeed. Bike Patrols must be properly marked and the users must be in proper uniforms and only undercover agents are authorized not to have signs and civilian clothes.

Oceanside Police Motorcycle Cop pulled me over on my Bike, took my keys and threw them and LOST THEM. Legal? So I Northbound on College Ave at the corner of HWY 76 and College waiting for a green light. Green light I'll pull forward pretty quick to get in front of the cars i passed while whitelining. I get up to about 50 (speed limit 55) and I here sirens and see lights I pull over. (Note this next part lasted a whole 30 seconds) I turn off my bike. he says "You wanna go to jail tonight?". I say "No, sir.". he says "You might want to make sure there isn't a cop behind you when you take off from a light. turn your bike off." (my bike is off but i fake it for him). I say "Yes, sir.". he says "Gimme your keys.". Yes, sir." HE TAKES MY KEYS AND THROWS THEM PRETTY HARD BEHIND ME INTO SOME BRUSH AND BUSHES! Then he says while getting back on his bike to leave"Go find your keys, if you're here when I get back you are going to Jail. I have a more important call. Go get your keys." As soon as he threw my keys I jumped off my bike and got behind his to see his License Plate Number. 79K64 Oceanside PD Plates. WTF?!?!? Is this legal? anyone have a good Lawyer? are police going to catch me IM ONLY 14 YEARS OLD? i was caught stealing at target he saw my bag open with the stolen items. he was an uncover cop. i stole toys LOL. i tryed to walk away from him but he would follow me talking with his walky talky tell the person on the other line the direction i was going in. i am 14 years old and i ran away from him and dumped all the items in a big plant container where you put soil. he did not know i had a bike so i left then went the fastest i can and reached my house. i live is boston is this a crime? im an honor roll student there was sirens of police in the background when i was on my bike going home. there was only one cop the cop from target. can they get my finger prints on the toys to catch me? he does not have a clue where it is. IM SCARED IM NEVER DOING IT AGAIN!!!!! The only way they're going to get you is if a security camera recorded you leaving, and there's a chance that you weren't recorded, so you may not actually get into any trouble.
Unless you have a criminal record, the fingerprints aren't going to do anything, anyway. Plus, I'm not sure if they would bother dusting some stolen toys for prints when there are killers running around out there.
Look, you don't sound like a bad kid to me. Teenagers do stupid things, I should know, I am one (and due to a medical condition I'm going to look like one for a very, very long time) so just stay out of trouble from now on, okay? :-)

About bike police bikes.....? is it illegal for someone to have the lights and sirens on a bike patrol bicycle? I know it's legal to own a police bike, with the logo of 'police' on the bike and the bike bag, but what about the lights and siren? You would be crossing over in to that area of impersonating a police officer with a red and blue light set up. Needless to say police officers usually treat people crossing that line personally.

Why do some police use bicycles ? What is the purpose of this when they ave got cars to use ? Do the bikes have sirens on them ? Bikes have several advantages...
They are a good community policing tool, as you can interact easier with the public.
The are also quieter, you can sneak up on a potential lawbreaker, especially at night.
Just knowing the bike patrol is out is a deterrent for a lot of people.
They can go many places squads can not, such as bike trails, walking paths, parks, etc.
They are very effective in chasing an offender on a bike, a squad is limited if they cut through yards. They are also very effective chasing someone who flees on foot.
The two big disadvantages are you are not a mobile so it takes you longer to get somewhere, and you can not carry a lot of supplies with you. If they are used to supplement road patrol, a squad is never far away.
They do sell lights and sirens for bike patrol, but I haven't seen many with them. The link shows a combination light/siren.

So Check with the law in your area and State Before you Spend the Money.
I too will use the NightRider Digital Patrol Light System but with no Blue or red Reflectors. Re-guarding a Siren not a good Idea. You can use the Horn portion but the Wail and Yelp might bring you a noise pollution ticket. Blue lights are a Big no!!! No!!! in California! If you are in NY or any other State I am not sure. Be Respectful, Check State Laws, and Your City Bicycle Code and you will be alright if you do all that.And yes gear made for police and military are OK to use as long as you follow the law, Example of this would be Surefire Flashlights. could i get the police flip down lens? The answer is you could buy it but Illegal to use ! You Should Find a Police Boy scouting program called Explorer in your Area. Check with your local Police Dept. And see if they have such a program in your Area. Playing with Siren could mean a ticket. Have fun and Stay safe
