How does the Hand clutch work on a mini pocket bike...? Im about to buy a nice X19 S2 pocket bike and i wanted to know if any of you motorcycle rider out there can explain how to work a hand clutch cause i have no idea how to get from gear to gear. OH and i am 14 years old .. don't wanted people to think im a 25 year old buying a kid size motorcycle You squeeze the clutch lever and put the transmission into gear by pressing down on the shift lever with your foot. Now SLOWLY ease out the clutch lever until the bike just begins to move. Begin to open the throttle as the bikes begins to move, DO NOT release the clutch lever until you have traveled 10 -15 feet. Practice this starting process until you can make the bike start moving without stalling the engine.
Once you have mastered that, then practice shifting from first gear to second gear and back down to first gear. 1) When you are riding in first gear, pull the clutch and roll off the throttle. 2) Pull the shift lever up and EASE the clutch out while rolling on the throttle just like you were starting out in first gear. Downshifting is just the reverse, roll off the throttle, squeeze the clutch, press down on the shift lever and EASE out the clutch.
