No it is not true, zebra crossings need to have at least one of the amber beacons on or flashing to be legal. However common courtesy would indicate that if practical you should still give way to pedestrians

Zebra is a non controlled crossing, marked by black and white stripes on the road. It is a pedestrian crossing. It has poles at either end with alternate black and white rings and a yellow flashing lamp on top.

is it legal for vehicles straddle a light controlled pedestrian crossing? is it right that a vehicle with or with out trailer can legaly straddle a pelican crossing? even if theres traffic as i have to regularly put up with this. I was told by my county police switchboard that they can. How ever the law might have changed, for when i passed my test you had to wait at the solid white line till it was clear a head. and if this is the case how are the blind supposed to tell the vehicle is there? It is illegal under the crossing regs and also constitutes obstruction of the highway.
Xbox 360 question: Is the pelican cooler pretty good? I went to gamestop.com and read come coments from customers and some say the pelican cooler works great. but people say u won't get hd graphics. but that is not my biggest concern about it. Some people say it does not relly works and you will still get the red light of doom if you play for 2-more hours. is this true because i don't want to buy a cooler for my xbox 360 that dosen't work. thanks later Here's the truth. The coolers are pretty much worthless. Not only that, but they can also cause problems. If you wanna keep your Xbox 360 running cool, just place a regular separate fan on the side of the Xbox 360 so that it can blow out the hot air from inside. And if you have an AC, turn it on it could help you out a little more. This method works for me, and I'm sure it could help you too. So Good Luck.
Anyone else have problems with Pelican 7060 flashlight? When I first got my Pelican 7060 LED flashlight it would not charge. I contacted customer service who a factory error set the charging screws in too tight, and to back them out a couple of turns. Did that and it worked. Lately, however, the light just stops working unless you turn the rear cap, but if you turn it too much it goes on by itself. Then one button stopped working altogether. What's up with this flashlight?
I've had mine for almost a month, and have no problems. If I had your problems, I'd send it back.
