Do you think the SA government should subsidise energy efficient light bulbs and put a ban on osram bulbs? Conventional osram bulbs uses a lot of electricity (more coal burned - greater environmental impact), whereas coil tubes, tubelights and LED's uses much less energy and in the latter case last longer.

In the mid-1970's a strong implementation of environmental policies made New York (your current city of residence) a much cleaner and better place and had a significant positive effect on the increase of visitors.
Problem is energy efficient bulbs are more expensive than regular bulbs. It's one thing to expect the government to use these bulbs in public or municipal funded areas. But to put a ban on then all round would be catastrophic. Many people in SA are so far below the income bracket that spending more than R10 on a light bulb makes no sense for them, even if it is more energy efficient and can last longer.
In theory it is a great idea, but in practice it is more difficult than that.
are OSRAM mobile LED spot lights waterproof? im not sure if these lights are waterproof and im wondering if id be able to use them for a fish tank you do get condensation underneath the lid of the fishtank but the light looks sealed but im not sure if it is waterproof Would not take the risk i have LCD lights in my tank as most of my plants need darkness and i got mine from an AQuatic shop for a fish tank
