Olympus 790SW and 850SW digital camera? How much & where to buy? Do anyone have an idea how much is the Olympus 790SW or 850SW digital cameras in Singapore? I bought my previous camera at Sim Lim Square and I'm wondering if there are other stores offering these models at cheap prices. Here a site for you! What kind of camera should I get? I'm 16 and have been saving money for some time for a camera. Preferably an "in between" one like an Olympus that's quite cheap? (I'm from Singapore). Say ~SGD200 that is not too big and too small (will get lost). The Nikon Coolpix L110 is highly rated and is less expensive. If I were you, I'd look for an entry level DSLR camera such as the Canon XS or the Nikon D40. They give you all the controls that you will need for a good photography class, plus any lenses you buy will work with an upgrade of the camera body, say to a Canon 50D or a Nikon D90.

What is the best and cheapest DSLR camera for beginners? Hello there (: I've chosen to take photography as a subject, and I think it's time to ditch my olympus fe-360, for a DSLR. olympus sw 850 disaster!? i bought this camera last year coz i needed one that is waterproof.. it was fine until i used it for the first time in the pool (nov 8, 2009) after juz some pictures the battery went low.. after a couple of pictures more it died.. the worst part is yet to come.. i went home to charge the battery.. and after charging it i placed it back in.. but it doesnt turn on anymore.. it is completely dead.. i read the instructions carefully several times before i used it in water to make sure i would not do anything wrong.. i bought it in singapore and they stated its world wide warranty.. how does it work? for how long? are there any costs involved? which should i go? or who should i contact? pls help thanks open up the USB and battery doors and leave it open for a couple of days, to perhaps let it dry out.
Charge your battery again,
and try it out.
Chances are one of the doors wasn't sealed when you went in the pool,
and your camera is toast.
Go to the olympus website for your country and contact them to see if you can send the camera in.

You could try sending it to Olympus Service Centre in Singapore, which is located at 491B River Valley Road #13-03 Valley Point Office Tower. This could be a problem with the sealing, or you didn't closed it properly. It obviously has water seeping in already. So you might want to send it to the service centre.
