FAQ about Mini Mag Lights

Mini mag light? are mini mag lights waterproof?? I hesitate to say that they are "waterproof" but they are very water resistant. I know they can take a dunking but I don't now how long they can stay under water without leaking nor how deep they can go before they start to leak. From a practical standpoint, though, the Mini Mag is pretty waterproof but is not a dive light.

What size belt will the holster that comes with the Mini-mag led 2aa accommodate? I need a small flash light for my duty belt a t a reasonable price...any suggestions? I just looked at the Minimag flashlight on my desk to be sure. It is NOT an led. That said, I can guarantee you can find a holster to fit both it and ANY belt you may have.

Can you see the laser on a DVD r burning laser pointer? like the one Kipkay made using a mini mag light flashlight and a dvdr diode. I planed on building one (for physics class) until i saw a question under the FAQ: Q. Why can't I see the beam like I can see in the video? A. I used smoke to make the beam visible. ..........ok? Besides my Mossberg 500, what other items should make up my disaster/survival kit? Sorry I had to ask in the hunting section, but you guys are the only ones who'd have a clue as to how to survive a massive disaster in my opinion- for those of us who dont know how to catch food would surely be the first ones gone! Here's what I have in my Kit so far: First AID kit for 2, plus AID kit for Dog. Water filtration water bottle (filters up to 80 gallons without replacement) MREs- 30 of them Mini mag light Mossberg 500 interchangeable barrels with 100 rounds of slugs/buckshot and several hundred #4 birdshot. a few 20lb propane cylinders a few 4lb propane cylinders Coleman Camp stove Cold weather clothing/parka Flint/Magnesium Stick Survival Knife with fishing line and hooks, light anywhere matches., etc Anything else you think I should get... IN CASE... GOt a Remington 597 .22LR, keep about 500 rounds, so Ill get some more Have a Dodge Ram 4x4 with nice brush guard... Great tips guys, thanks! Itll be tough to give a best answer! You have a good start for a list, do add some plastic tarps they are handy for many things. I would also invest in a good light weight tent and quality back pack.
I prefer a hobo stove as you can find fuel for it about anywhere and they are light weight.
I agree with the suggestion to have a .22 rifle of some kind. 22 LR ammo is cheap, takes little space, its quiet and can take small game. It should be in everyone’s survival ( or bug out) kit. Have 4 bricks handy and that’s 2,000 rounds of 22 ammo. One brick of 22 lr (500 rounds) weighs about the same as one 25 round box of 12 ga shotgun shells. Also a long barreled 22 pistol like the Ruger mark 2 takes up little room in your gear.
I would also suggest a more extensive first aid kit, with suture kit and any medications you might need.
Some books on edible plants with photos would be a plus.
Some rope and cordage would be a good idea also.
I strongly suggest you read the great information on that survival site it has a wealth of information.

I won`t a bulb for a mini mag light. Help? Hey bud. Check behind the spring on your flashlight. their is always a spare bulb. open your flashlight like you would to change the batteries. Behind the springs you'll have a spare bulb.

Why when you look into a light you see a rainbow around it? I was looking at my mini-mag led flashlite and noticed that. prism like materials are able to produce rainbows

EDC flashlights? or favorite flashlights? I never see any flashlight questions on the hunting section... (besides the dude wanting to mount a light to his shotgun). Whats your favored flashlight? If you would have asked me this a good few months ago i would have said my standard AA mini mag light. But Here last month we went through a period where snow knocked out our power for a good 2-3 days, while the maglights kept working they were pissing me off because i had to change the stupid light bulbs or they just werent lighting up enough. So i did some research and studied away and saw guys were really like these new Cree LED lights. I looked at SureFire and saw what people had to say but from what i picked up, while they are good lights they just arent worth the money and guys were talking about Fenix and 4Sevens as coming up to being serious competition for Surefire. I went and picked up a Fenix LD20 and ive got to say. It is well worth the money and now im curious why i never looked at these types of flashlights before. Its my first investment in a flashlight but im happy and hell its bright enough i would use it for night hunting out to a good 100 you can see there eyes and im sure it would give you a positive Id on what they are out at about 40-50 yards. So whats your favorite flashlight? Oh wow, I am a flashlight maniac! I am not fooling when I say that I own about 50 different flashlights; everything from the little keychain LED lights that can fit into a breast pocket of a shirt, up to the 6 cell Mag Instrument lights.
These days, the absolute best value that I have found are the Coleman 115 lumen LED lights that sell for about $25 at most big box retailers. These things really put out the light and are small and compact enough that they can fit into your coat pocket. The battery life in them is pretty good and the bulbs are supposed to last a lifetime.

i have a mini mag lite which takes 2 AA batteries.well i kinda just found out that it takes two, i was looking? in the battery shaft and i found out that there was an old battery that had leaked and is now basicly glued on to the side of the inside of the mag lite. how can i remove that battery without messing up the mag lite? and i think it leaked into the top of the flash lite because i cant seem to open the mag lite to change the light bulb. theres a white/grey chalky thing inside the mag lite thanks spray a spray on lube in to the inside of the tube. wd40 or gt85 sort of thing then leave to stand, after half an hour try turning it over and banging it down on a piece of soft wood as not to damage the torch. this should remove the cell from the flash light. but the corrosion could have damaged the contacts inside so it may not work after either way. this is not covered buy the warrenty either

My mini mag light won't turn off? I changed the bulb in my mini mag light. After I put the batteries in, it turned on, but now it won't turn off unless i pull out the batteries. It is supposed to twist on and off, but it won't. Help You got something out of alignment when you changed the bulb. Try unscrewing the the lens again like you were going to replace the bulb, the reflector should pop up when you remove lens bezel. It should be spring loaded. When you push the reflector in the light should come on, when you release it the light should go out.
