Which circular saw to chose for good quality? Milwaukee Tilt Lok Circular Saw (50degrees)
or
Bosch 56° 7-1/4" Corded Circular Saw
Does how much it bevels matter to much if it is only by 6 degrees
Give me an opinion on if you dont think any of these are two good and what you think is a good circular saw.
I prefer the table and the motor on the Bosch, there is a little less vibration than with the Milwaukee. My favorite for finish work is a Porter Cable though, the motor is very well balanced and the table is very true cast aluminum, perfect for running along a straight edge.
Don't worry too much about the angle, anything over 45 is generally only an issue when you're cutting rafters for a gable, something that having a decent miter saw is all about.
I'll side in favor of either the Milwaukee of Porter Cable simply because they are American and replacement parts are more accessible when in doubt.
Milwaukee V28 impact wrench review? I am interested in purchasing a Milwaukee V28 impact wrench. My Father & Grandfather use pneumatic impact wrenches alot but unfortunately, all the ones they use are 50 years old and very, ahem, crappy. Not to mention, dragging that darn air hose everywhere and getting it wrapped around stuff is a pain in the neck! I would just like to get a few opinions on the V28's performance. If anyone here has one or has used one, please let me know what you thought... I have the V28 circular saw, hammer drill and Sawzall and couldn't be happier with them. Hopefully, the impact wrench is just as good. Thanx! I use Makita, but you cant go wrong with Milwaukee is a professional tool too, as well as DeWalt both make exelent impact wrenches and very well built - The Lithium ion battery makes it a bit expensives, but well worth the extra cost -last much longer than ni-cd or ni-mh and nuch lighter- go for it! I would recomend for a impact wrench = DeWalt and Milwauke are the best and you will be happy with either tool
Which circular saw is better? The Milwaukee 6394 or the Craftsman 10871? Both are 13-amp, 17.25 inches Thanks! You not going to get many good answers asking this in toddlers section. LOL. I will say craftsman b/c it's the brand my husband uses.

Question on power tools? I am looking to buy a kit ( Drill, Sawsall, Circular Saw, Grinder, etc ) Milwaukee is too expensive, I am looking at either DeWalt, Makita, or Bosch. I've used Makite and DeWalt and liked both but Bosch is way cheaper. What should I get? Depends on what you plan to do with them and how often you will use them. Milwaukee or DeWalt are worth the money if you will use them every day, but are overkill for the average home owner or weekend handyman. If you're in the later catagory I also recomend you check out Skil as being excellent quality at about half the price of DeWalt. I've never been disappointed with Makita tools either. By and large once you decide how much you're willing to spend which brand you get is a personal decision. It comes down to how it feels in your hands. Which tools do you feel has the most comfortable grip? Is the trigger and safety switch spacing comfortable for your fingers?
What is the best brand of cordless power tools? I've been thinking about buying a set of power tools to use in carpentry applications (Im tired of borrowing my grandfathers). I'm in the process of remodeling my home and need a circular saw, a drill/screwgun and a recipricating saw. I saw the Milwaukee V28 set and it looks like just what I need. My grandfather who is a very experienced carpender tells me Milwaukee is a very good brand. Tell me what you think.....thanx.
Milwaukee V28 tool kit is very good (my brother has them-I use them) They are, however, not cheap - $600 (at Amazon.com) for drill, sawzall (recipricating saw) circular saw, drill and flash light. The V28 batteries are Lithium Ion, (the same type as laptops have) and last a long time, so unless you are doing a lot of work they probably will last all day. If you go with 18 volt nicad kit with the same tools in Milwaukee, it costs about $480, lithium Ion 18 volt $455. However, I have heard bad reviews of the 18 volt nicad Milwaukee batteries, although I have the 18 volt nicad drill, and haven't had any problem with the batteries.
Other brands: Dewalt. Dewalt makes a 36 volt lithium Ion kit, about $800 at Amazon, however, replacement batteries are expensive, $130 compared to $95 for Milwaukee V28. Bottem line: maybe Dewalt 36 volt price will go down, but for now, between the two of them I would go with Milwaukee.
Other brands to consider: Makita makes a 18 volt lithium ion kit, light, compact, powerfull, $520 at Amazon for drill, impact driver, flashlight and circular saw. a good buy. bosch makes an 18 volt nicad kit: $500 for drill, recipricating saw, circular saw and flashlight. Dewalt also makes an 18 volt nicad kit:$480 for same equipment as Bosch. All these are good buys, any of them would be fine.
Also, not recomended unless you are doing very little work Ryobi, $250-$350 for same equipment as Dewalt and Bosch, however, very low quality, frustating to use, and short life time. Good for low useage.
Overall, go with the more expensive brands, and stay away from Rigid. Rigid is about as exspensive as the good brands and not as good. Best bets: Milwaukee, Dewalt, Bosch, Makita.
I hope that this helps you!
Bosch or Milwaukee Circular Saw? I'am stuck between these two if anyone has either one put your two cents in please! Also, if you know which one youd go with tell me why, thanks! Bosch
What kind of saw to cut 16 gauge 1" square steel tube? I'm doing a project that requires cutting 1" 16 gauge square steel tube. I need to make about 50 cuts, many of them at an angle. I am going to be welding these pieces together after cutting. I was originally looking at circular saws but then came across mitre saws and realized that I could measure out the angle cuts much easier. Anyway, i don't specifically need a mitre saw or a circular saw, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to cut this pipe accurately. I can probably spend around $130. Maybe there are cheap non-mechanized saws that can cut this steel with a proper blade? maybe there are cheap jig saws that can do the job? maybe there are cheap sawzalls? I need these cuts to be relatively clean and so my tool wont break on me or kill me or bankrupt me? help anyone?
Here are some I was looking at but i'm not sure if they can do the job:
http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-C10FCE2-10-Inch-Compound-Miter/dp/B000V5Z6RG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1276808976&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-PHS550B-Powered-Handsaw/dp/B000CA6FDY/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1276808976&sr=1-6
http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-6390-21-4-Inch-Tilt-Lok-Circular/dp/B0000222UX/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1276808976&sr=1-2
You need a portable band saw. With the right blade the compound miter saw would work, but I have cut all types of material working in and building Refineries, and a portable band saw is the best way to go as far as versatility. you can even find one or two usually in most pawn shops for a fair price. I would smell the unit first before buying used to insure the motors and electric haven't been overworked.
A strong burnt smell = don't purchase
Circular saw blade location? I'm looking to get a circular saw, and have realized that almost all of them have the blade to the right of the motor. I'm right handed and would think that the blade on the left of the motor would make more sense because you could see it better? I have found a Milwaukee that has the blade on the left, but it's the only one I could find like that. Am I missing an important safety point or something. Just looking for some thoughts on this.
Thanks
The blade is located "outside" because if the saw were to bind and then kick back, it would most likely go away from your body.
If it was mounted "inside", and it kicked back, it'd kick straight back into your body...not fun.
Would these be good starter power tools? I do not have enough money to be upgrading from decent quality tools to great quality tools, so this is why I'am trying to find some of the best tools out their..I'am going to be starting woodworking classes and want some good quality tools are these very good or not? Corded drill:Milwaukee 1/2 in. Magnum® Drill, 0-850 RPM Corded Circular Saw:Milwaukee 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with Quik-Lok® cord, Brake and Case Cordless Drill: Bosch 18V Litheon™ Brute Tough™ Drill Driver Jigsaw: Bosch Top Handle Jigsaw Also, how long do you think these tools could last if properly cared for and used 2-3 times a week or something like that,Thanks! Honestly in later years I am not that impressed anymore with Milwaukee tools, in fact when I went in business in 97 I thought the same way you do about buying tools and bought a Milwaukee Magnum 1/2" hammer drill, the hammer function failed withing 3 years. I bought a Dewalt to replace it and it still works fine today. I would opt for a Makita circular saw and a Dewalt or Hitachi corded drill. I like the Bosch jigsaw but I would choose the barrel grip model it gives much better control. The Bosch cordless drill is a great tool. Later when it comes to sanders stick with Porter Cable they also make a great plate joiner (biscuit cutter), for routers Bosch or Hitachi. Good luck
