How to make a MagLite flashlight blink? It says the switch can make it blink but doesn't say how? I think I have it now. It says signal mode is manual, momentary on/off. It means that I can click it on and off repeatedly. That's so dumb. Stop calling it a 3 position switch! How to get a leaked rusted battery from a maglite? I have a small maglite, it holds 2 AA batteries. One day one decided to leak and it got stuck in there (near the bulb). I tried getting it out by soaking it in anything acidic: lemon juice, cola, nothing worked. So after a few weeks of neglect, the battery inside it has rusted, and I think it has lodged in there for good. Is there still a way to get it out with home-based products? Thanks. If you still want to do this on your own, and you can see an end of the battery, then you can try drilling a small hole in the batter and then drive a self-tapping screw into the hole and use the screw to try to pull it out. Be careful about getting the electrolyte on your hands, eyes and clothes. It is caustic. Use eye protection.
Or after drilling a "starter hloe", get a BIG drill-bit and drill out the middle of the battery so that you remove much of what had caused it to expand. My maglite makes a ton of noise and it REALLY annoying? I have a full sized maglite and I hate how much the loose fitting D-batteries make noise. I have it on a mount in my truck so i cant just throw a towel over it. I have heard some ideas, like wrapping it in things like duct tape. Do you have any other ideas to make the damn thing SHUT UP! Any help would be great!

how come those big maglite flashlights are so weak compared to an small led flashlight? I thought the bigger maglite would be more brighter.

Can you help me find a way to safely purchase a maglite rechargable flashlight? I have found lots of websites offering these under $100 dollars, which I think is a great deal.. BUT I am not sure if I should trust the websites. Can anyone help me??? I can't afford to lose 100 dollars and I can't afford to have my debit card info leaked. (can anyone???) I usually only shop on e-bay, which have better systems in place to help determine whether you should purchase from the buyer. Go to a local hardware store or sporting goods store and buy it in person. That way, you'll feel 100% safe.
Having said that, major online merchants are safe like Amazon.com. If you haven't heard of the web site (Bill's Best Flashlight Deals), then you should be leary.

How do I replace batteries in a Maglite? My friend gave me a mag lite. The bottom battery cap, is tightly closed. I tried opening it with my hands, and with my wrench, but it's really closed tightly. How can I open the cap? I don't have a drill. Spray the part where the battery cap neets the case with WD40, or another similar lubricant. This should be enough to loosen it, but you may have to let it soak in for a while. If you use a drill, you'll gain access to it, but will destroy the end making it useless as a torch, and it's too round to use as a paperweight.

How do I change the bulb on my mini maglite? It doesn't seem to unscrew and I can't seem to pull/push it out. Anyone know how to remove it? Anyone know where to get a replacement bulb? pull straight out

What is the best way to clean out damage from leaked batteries in a MagLite torch (5D)? I have a 5D Maglite torch which some batteries leaked into. I am trying to find out what is the best way to clean the damage out from the inside of the torch. No damage was to the contact its just a build up of gunk inside the battery compartment. first up, the battery manufacturer may warranty that the battery will not leak, you may be able to get them to buy you a new MagLight.
second, the mag can be disassembled. get down to all the parts.
You can use any detergent to clean the parts, then using a baking soda wash, scrub all the corrosion areas to kill the oxidation.
rinse in fresh water and allow to dry.
reassemble.
