FAQ about Led Camp Light

How many volts does it require to run 1 LED light? I saw a Mini LED camp light that runs on 4 AA batteries (1.5 volts per AA battery), and the camp light has 7 white LED lights inside it. 1.5 x 4 = 7 (volts), so does that mean each LED light requires 1 volt? How fast would that consume battery power? Most LEDs need around 1.5 volts. Except white and a few other colors which need around 3.8 volts. The voltage needed by each type if LED is quite exact, but they do vary from type to type and color to color. But LEDs do not draw a great deal of current, and so they can be run in parallel so that one AA battery can light several LEDs.
LEDs do not have much resistance, and so you almost always need a resistor in the circuit to limit the power being delivered to the LEDs (Ohm's Law E=IR).
If a battery is used to power an LED without any resistors, it is implicitly relying on the internal resistance of the battery itself, and that will result in a brightness that very much depends on how fresh the battery is.
Many LEDs produce their full brightness at 30 ma, but LED's will produce some light at a much lower power, even a tenth of a milli-amp. So if you have enough voltage, a single battery or series of batteries can power much more than one LED.
There are high efficiency LEDs that produce a very bright light at 10 milli-amperes, but there are LEDs that can use a great deal more power than 30 m.a. too. And some are much MUCH brighter than others.
A typical alkaline AA battery should produce more than 2500 milli-amp hours of power, so if one LED was drawing, say 25 m.a., it would last 100 hours, ten such LEDs would last 10 hours and so forth.

Which LED flashlight should I buy, for camping/hiking/bail out bag? From looking online, it seems like any surfire light is the way to go.. and i would love to have one, but they are so pricey.. is there a LED flashlight for under 50$ (or close to it) that has a high/low (power saver) lumen output setting and a long lasting hours usage on a single battery? prefer a tac light or high lumen but will sacrifice that for price... finally, do those LED lights have a focussed beam? or do they just illuminate an area? Man, reading online is fine and dandy but there is no substitute for experience. You gotta go try out some of this stuff and make a decision based off what's best for you, not what anybody else says.
In my experience no LED lights have as focused of a beam, they mostly just make light. Not always helpful, but sometimes.
You seem to be looking for quality gear. Hate to break it to you, but good equipment (in any field, not just outdoors stuff) is expensive. Either suck it up and pay the money or deal with lower quality products.

What are the best LED flashlights out there? A friend of mine let me borrow his surefire led flashlight to take camping. It was awesome. Small, light, tough, very bright and waterproof. I know that surefires are expensive. But are they the best? Are there any other companies that make similar or better LED flashlights? Cheaper? The main thing I want them to have is to be tough, reliable, bright and waterproof. A lifetime warranty or better would be awesome as well as it seems that most if not all of surefire's flashlights come with one. I'm a big fan of the surefire flashlights!
I also have a 3 watt Maglite AA. It puts out great light but, it's tempermental at times - batteries, contacts, some days it just doesn't like me. Other than that it's a good size, with a good reflector, and good light out put. My complaint is that you need two hands to turn it on and you can't get the accessory push button switch.
Pelican head lamps are very good too - unconditional lifetime warranty, very durable, go with the LED as the others can drain batteries quickly.

Do LED camping headlamps emit harmful UV rays? Can it ruin my eyes, IF they do emit UV or other harmful light wavelengths? no, you're fine.

24 or 48 LED light for camping? What is better? I assume 24 and 48 led are the voltage, right? Which one is best for camping? Is the 48 brighter or what? it is not the voltage..it is the number of bulbs....the 48 would be twice as bright as the 24

How do I wear a light amount of makeup but still look and feel pretty? I wear black eyeliner above my eyelids (liquid) and white eyeliner on the bottom of my eye. Sounds weird, but it doesn't look like much is done, but still opens up my eyes. I usually wear a light brown/tan eye shadow and waterproof mascara. It works because I'm half Italian/Irish, half Vietnamese. So I'm tan. But in a week I'm gonna be on staff at a youth led camp. Being eighteen, and my face still looking like im twelve without makeup, how do I wear less makeup but still look and feel pretty? It'll be hot and any tons of makeup will just sweat off. add a very light coverage of liquid foundation
and add some powder on top when your done
you can keep the eyeliner the way you pleas
or you can just add mascara to the upper and lower lash line
it will make you look brighter, more natural
and not like a little kid

what is the advantage of having a UV LED flashlight compared to a regular LED flashlight? I had a regular 51 white LED flashlight that i got off ebay. and it worked just fine, I'm going to buy another led flashlight i'll be using it for camping and around the house. does a UV LED flashlight create more light or can you see better? UV or ultraviolet is not visible to human eyes. Buying a UV flashlight won't be any use if you want to see something. UV flashlights are frequently used to make hidden marks glow so they become visible. There are marks like this in the new bills and on passports and things like that. But you're not seeing the UV directly, just the glow caused by the UV. See the wiki article at the link below.
