Man suing me and my team after arrest? I work for the City of San Diego as a lifeguard on Ocean Beach/La Jolla. For the most part my job requires me to stay on Ocean Beach. We are told to report suspicious activity to the SDPD and work very closely with them at keeping the beaches safe. Recently we got a report that a man had been hunting lobster illegally (out of season) further down the beach from my post so I responded, we asked him to please get out of the water and sit down. The man was heavily intoxicated and becoming angry, we called the police who arrived within 10 minutes. In that time we confiscated his dive gear,mask,speargun (he did not have a permit any of this), and he began to yell profanity and cuss us out. We turned over his belongings to the police and he was arrested on multiple charges. I thought that was the end of it but now me and my team of five other lifeguards are being sued by this individual he claims we damaged some of his property (appearently his speargun which he was not permitted to have) however I know for a fact and have video evidence of us handling the posessions carefully and giving them to the police, I don't know what happened after that. Does anyone have any legal advice on our situation, I was just doing my job or so I thought. let the city attorney handle this

My friends and I are starting a pro paintball/airsoft team...more just for fun but when we run in tournaments we would like to look as tactical as possible..any ideas where to pick up gear like them? (minus the guns, explosives lol ) especially the black hockey masks those were pretty cool feature to their uniforms...I rather buy online since here in Canada it is hard to find real tactical gear ...so online stores that ship to Canada would be great!!! also please don't think we are "trying" to look real or should just joni the army...most of us are in the military or are police...I myself am having the military pay for my college ATM

You should not have to spend your own money for your defense. The municipal attorney should take care of this themselves or have it turned over to their insurer. You need to be able to do your job which you have. You do not need to fret over crazy drunks who are out to waste your time.

Some questions that I would like to see an investigation address are: 1.Why were the agents armed with non-lethal weaponry in the first place? 2.Why are non-lethal weapons even authorized in a war zone? 3.What are the rules of engagement when our Border Patrol agents are patrolling? 4.Why are some areas in Southern Arizona “off limits” to the Border Patrol? 5.What did the supervisors who authorized Agent Terry’s BORTAC mission know about the area? 6.Are the helicopter pilots who support the ground troops experienced and properly trained to provide the best support? 7.What was the goal of this particular mission? 8.What equipment were they using; weapons, comms and protective gear? 9.Were they wearing body armor? If so, what kind? Were they wearing the kind of vest that police officers wear that will stop a handgun round but not a rifle bullet? 10.Why didn't they apprehend the 5th suspect when he was spotted numerous times and agents on the ground were begging, repeatedly, to be allowed to go in and get him? I agree. I would love to see her answer, under oath, why snipers from drug cartels are easily identified on high ground in / near national parks in Southern AZ (part of USA, for those of you from Rio Linda) are not identified and apprehended.

Why can't the friggin police let Lakers fans celebrate? The Staples center is located in downtown LA - the streets are already empty there at night because all the businesses are closed - it's not like other cities with restaurants, shops etc. it's just tall business buildings for the most part and a ghost town at night. The Lakers fans are out trying to celebrate but there are hundreds of police including a bunch in riot gear telling them to go home. The people are peaceful. They were outside the whole day and throughout the whole game without being able to watch it just so they can celebrate afterward and the police are ruining it. Do they suck or what? Remember last year? Still, Go Lakers!
