Classic outdoor Night time games for kids? I'm looking for a few old games to play with kids outside at night. we wanted to get the whole neighborhood together and play a few like flashlight tag but I can't think of that many? Any ideas? Something like murder in the dark or tip the can could be fun..... also just a treasure hunt, having it in the dark would make it more fun and have prizes!

Parents, what do you put in weather boxes for your kids? And what are their ages? I just heard there's a tropical storm out there, explaining our constant rain. So I figured you know, another year of this. Time to get the boxes ready with flashlights, candles and matches, batteries, foodstuff that won't expire. But how many toys do you wind up packing? Or electronics? All those fun things your kids just 'can't live without'. I let them pick 3 things they want to pack and make sure it's their favorite. You can over pack sometimes. This helps keep it simple. But do explain if a hurricane does come your way what could happen or even show after pics. I do this every year with my 3 children.

What is the horror movie called? It starts when these kids park and the car won't start.? A man then comes by with a flashlight and asks if they need help. He then takes them to his place and the killing starts. The movie ends with this kid who escaped walking through the desert and he finally passes out and someone finds him. I know it's not a lot to go on but it has to ring a bell to somebody. You might be thinking of Wolf Creek. They get trapped in the desert because something causes everything electrical to stop working, and their car won't start. An old man comes and "rescues" them, towing them back to his place. Then he starts killing them.

Are these kids really dumb or am I really smart? Funny story.? I live at the end of a quiet road in the woods at the end of a development. We are surrounded by a hundred acres of woods. There are always arson fires near my house cause dumb kids go into the woods and burn crap. One night I am running at one am in my development. I see some flashlights and a fire in the middle of the dead end of the street. I shine my flashlight at them and they freak out. They stomp out their fire and run into the woods. I follow them into the woods watching their flashlight beams for a bit but they get smart turn off their lights and hide. It's pitch black outside. I look for them for a bit and then get lazy. If they go deeper into the woods they will only get more lost, and they can't move without me hearing them or seeing their flashlights turn on. I'm going completely out on a limb and I say very calmly and start lying "look guys I have all night. I know you guys are here. In a few minutes a bunch of my friends are going to be here with night vision goggles and we WILL find you. I also know that you guys live in this development and the only way home is up this street and I am cutting off your only path home." I am thinking probably these kids have escaped. But a few seconds later flashlights turn on and a half a dozen high school aged kids come out of the woods with their hands up. The girls are crying the guys are terrified. Lol I don't know but that is funny!

Buzzing noise in chimney, baby chimney swifts? I have heard and seen chimney swifts in my chimney in the fall/winter. Now its spring and I'm hearing an intermittent loud buzzing noise in my chimney. I keep it locked and my kids dismantle all flashlights so I haven't been able to look inside. Could it be baby swifts? Very likely. They will sometimes fall down the chimney to the fireplace. After they have grown and left the chimney, It's a good idea to cover the top of the chimney with hardware cloth to keep them out in the future. Don't use window screen. The mesh is too small and will clog up with soot. Good luck.

Where can I buy red, blue, and yellow cellophane? I want to do a project with kids where you put colored cellophane over flashlights and shine the colors on the wall. Does anyone know where I can find any? Thank you. The Dollar Tree did have some a few weeks ago and also try Wally world (walmart).Also, not for sure how much you need but you may want to try a local grocery store that provides fruit baskets as a service, they wrap the baskets in colored cellophane and may just give you some.

Good small gift ideas for kids in Ghana? I'm going to Ghana in a few months, and I want to bring a bunch of small gifts to give to people (and maybe trade). Any ideas? I was thinking gum, mechanical pencils, maybe a few small flashlights. We won't be going way out in the sticks. We'll be mostly in Accra, Cape Coast, and the Volta region, but we will be able to get to some outlying villages. Nothing mechanical or anything that needs batteries. Definately not gum. Clothing and shoes even if they are used would be highly welcomed. Normal pencils, pencil sharpeners, wrtting books, toothpaste, mosquito nets, to help combat malaria. Posters or jerseys of Ghana's favourite soccer players like ESSIEN. Bring them some soccer balls. They will love you forever for that.

Do the police have the right to spend the night peeping in my windows? Some cops came to my house late on Saturday night saying they got a complaint about loud children and said they wanted to come inside the house. I gave him my name and told them they'd need a warrant if they wanted to come in. They spent the next hour in my bushes out front and walking around the outside of the house shining flashlights in all of the windows. I asked them to leave my property and they wouldn't go. They apparently didn't witness any loud noise and we never got any ticket, but we really feel violated by the whole ordeal. Don't we have the right to enjoy our home without police officers peeping in our windows in the middle of the night and shining lights in while they look for evidence of a civil infraction? We weren't having any party, but my wifes 2 brothers were staying with us along with the one brothers 2 kids who are pretty much traumatized now by having strange men at the house shining lights in their bedroom window at 3am. Unless they have a reason to believe a crime is being committed, on your property or another property you may have access to, they have no real right to hang out in your yard.
I can't see a cop wasting his time looking in your windows for a noisy child complaint. There was probably more to it. They could have believed there was abuse happening or something else. In which case, they may have been justified in their actions.
I also don't know your demeanor when asking them to get a warrant. That can really create suspicion in a cop.
