Car temperature gauge shows reading of LL.L . Does anyone know what is wrong with it? Hi Product: All Ride 12V Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer. I brought an Indoor/outdoor car temperature gauge which can be powered by both battery or I have a cigarette charger. They gauge gives me reading of the inside but the reading for the outside of the car shows as LL.L. I have taken the battery from the product several times and even used the cigarette plug to see if that makes any difference but it doesn’t. Can anyone tell me what the problem is. Any help will be a lot of help. Thanks Outdoor sensor faulty or not connected.

Is my plasma globe (those toys) interfering and/or interacting with wireless signals? I mean, I know it is--at least in this instance that happened earlier today: I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer that also measures barometric pressure, and displays the time and date. The time is also being calibrated often to the atomic clock's "reading" for accuracy. The wireless transmitter that picks up the temperature and barometric pressure is out on my balcony, where I keep it in the shade and away from anything that could block it or get it dirty. The distance from the transmitter to the receiving (main) unit is approximately 25 feet. It is a new gadget of mine, and it has always performed exceptionally--no problems whatsoever. But I was rearranging my living room today and I put a rather large plasma globe one foot away from the main/receiving unit. The unit flipped out; all the numbers started going crazy and it was basically freaking out like it was having a seizure or something. When I moved the ball away, everything went back to normal. Now: What happened? How did it happen? And if these little glowing balls and decorations with streaks of electricity within them disable electronic functions, isn't there a way to "weaponize" them--you know, like EMP's and the like. Could I plug a couple into my car and strategically place them in hopes that an officer cannot get a reading on my speed? What other mischief can come from playing with these things? You receiving unit is suffering what is known in radio biz as "Desensitization." Your plasma globe is putting out a lot of RF energy, though not particularly high frequency. But it is likely overloading the radio receiver front end, which is designed to pick up electric fields on the order of microvolts.
Sorry, the only way to "weaponize" this is try to talk the traffic cop into carrying an operating globe with him/her in the vehicle. Ain't gonna happen.
Also, the type of transmitter/receiver for radar units operates enough differently that a plasma globe wouldn't affect it. Much less for the laser-style units.

where is the best place to attach an outdoor CAR thermometer for outdoor temperature? I have a "Perfect Solutions" digital indoor/outdoor car thermometer (the outdoor thermometer is wired) but I am not sure where to attach the outdoor temperature sensor, but have 10 feet of wire to work with. Am installing this in a Scion XD. Any suggestions would be very helpful! What has worked best for me overall is the front of the car, either dangling free in the grill or hanging down below the front. Attaching it directly to the car can result in the sensor getting heated by the warmth of the car itself. I once also dangled the sensor of an outside mirror and that works well for the most part, though it may not be aesthetically pleasing.

Any help will be a lot of help. Thanks For it to work it must have connected a outdoor temp sensor which has to be outdoor. If you have one properly connected then it is clearly faulty. They normally take the form of a thin pair of wires terminating at a small plastic tube which measures the temperature - this must be outside in dry still air.. The other end is either permanently attached to or plugs into the unit you have bought.
