How much would it cost to start an archery shop and range in Australia? I know alot depends on the areq, but an approximate or an average would be good thanks. One day, in the far future, i hope to own an archery shop and range. Selling equipment and supplies, as well as indoor target shooting and 3d archery, beginners coaching, stuff like that. So around how much do you think it would cost, and where would be the best place to set up shop. You are the only one that can figure that out. Archery Ranges in Toronto? Are there any others that are IN Toronto besides the outdoor range by the Ontario Science Centre and the Hart House ranges? I haven't heard good things about the OSC range (arrows lost in grass, targets not properly taken care of) and the Hart House range is not open during the summer...any other places? It doesn't matter if its indoor or outdoor..thanks Not sure about the range. But there's something you can do to remedy bales that are already way past it's service length. If you find your arrows passing through the bale, all you gotta do is buy those floor/play mats. Toy stores or automobil stores usually carry those, it's made of foam about 24"x24". Stack 2 of them one on top of each other and nail them onto the bales and it'll stop just about any arrow.
Sometime we have the same problems down here in California, so I always carry a few of those in my trunk.

For indoor archery - What is the space or distance that should be allotted for each shooter or target? In an Indoor range I see shooter standing very close to each other. I am starting an indoor range and wondering if the targets need to be a certain distance and if the line of people need to be a certain distance apart? Maybe my question is not clear.... Is there a certain distance between shooters on a line when shooting at in indoor range or competition? Is there a certain distance between targets? This is for a paper targets like one spots or 3 spots... So, the link that I attached is for a range layout document for both indoor and outdoor. It specifies standards for both lane width as well as backstop depth, height, etc. Should have everything you need.
I found it an amusing note that it states that 24" is an absolute minimum for lane width and for "mature" adults 30" is much better. Personally, being a lefty I prefer something closer to 36" for lane width so that when face to face with another archer it feels less cramped, particularly while drawing the arrow. I can probably also say that I fit the euphemistic definition of "mature" as used here and carry enough bulk to want the wider lanes to feel comfortable.

Is indoor archery event held in olympics? Hi, I read information about archery and it says, 18m and 25m indoor archery 30,50,70,90 m for out door. But when i browse for events held in olympics i'm not able to understand how it runs. actually what distance is for target archery event competition. Please help me. Thank you Please give specifications for both men and women events. If 70m is for olympics, what is 90m for? Archery is an outdoor event at the Olympics.

I do a lot of archery shooting. Both target and hunting. And use basically the same arrows. For target just change the tip. The tips are the same for both indoor and outdoor target practice.
You need to make sure your arrows are the proper ones for your bow. And any good archery store will help you get the proper match.

An end is one quiver's worth of shooting, there are many different types of round. The word 'end' comes from the old days, way back when, I'm talking about back in the medieval ages, when archers shoot they have target bales on both ends of the field to maximize shooting time. So when all archers has finished shooting their quivers, the command to retrieve arrows was to 'change ends'. They'll walk to the target bale and shoot from the other end of the field. A round is several ends put together. A FITA outdoor round for instace consists of 36 ends, 12 ends for the long distance part with 6 arrows per end, and 24 ends for the short distance part with 3 arrows per end. Then there's the FITA 300 round, the 900 round, field round, Olympic round etc.
2. Unlike the FITA target with a maximum score of 10, the NFAA target has a maximum value of 5. So a 300 round in the NFAA uses 60 arrows instead of 30. The NFAA 5 ring is also about the size of the FITA 9 ring.
