Let me ask this again, I Want to hunt foxes at night with a flashlight, will an LED spotlight scare them away? I want to shoot them not scare them... If it will scare them what kind of light do I need to buy? Where I live, it is illegal to use artificial light to predator hunt at night. I know it is legal in TX. Most people use a red light since supposedly they can't see the red light. I have been out at night looking for cattle or something and seen coyotes with a 1,000,000 candlelight or more spotlight. They watch the light and slowly walk away. It does not appear the scare them.

What is the best hunting light? I am looking for a powerful flashlight that will mount to a picatinny rail. It would be nice if it also had a laser combination but I can add that separate if I have to. I'm looking for a light that will spot game up to 100 yards at night. I hear that red lights are invisible to animals. If so, I will go with that. Any ideas on which brand/model is the best? I have a Mini 14 that I put a rail on and a stinger flashlight; it's good for about 45 yards on coyotes and pigs. I can make out cows and horses to about 60 yards but that's it. I've used red lights and spot lights for hunting varmints and found this to be the best way. Normally a hunting buddy and I will go out together and set up our area. Several hours after nightfall we begin our calling and use a 3 million candle spot light with a white light. What we do is shine it just over the brush line where can can just make out eyes in the glow. The spot light operator is right behind and above the shooter, we scope in the area and then go right on the animal. I spent a few nights practicing before we went out and was surprised at how easy it is to do this.
I don't know of a small enough light to mount directly on your firearm that will give you 100 yards at night. Most are going to be to big and clumsy to use.

Why are geese afraid of my flashlight? Now that it gets dark at 430pm, I carry a flashlight on my walks. And down at the reservoir, there are geese sitting on the shores. One time, I flicked on my light to see them in the water, and hundreds flew off. I felt bad. They don't seem to mind much me being there, except for some extra honking. And then while sitting on the shore, I used my light to check my pack for something, and they all flew off again; I wasn't even shining it directly at them. Are there people who use flashlights for hunting? Yes there are people who use Flashlights for Hunting(Lamping is what it is called).They use the lamp to blind they prey.momentarily.

What equipment would i need to go ghost hunting? I know you need a digital video camera with night vision/infrared, EM Pump, Digital EMF detector, flashlight and motion detectors, am i missing anything? You don't NEED any of that equipment. Although a camera and camcorder is useful for documenting your investigation. I assume you are not putting on a TV show, so most of that fancy equipment will be useless. You can conduct investigations in the light or during day time even easier than at night in the dark. Mostly on TV they do investigations in the dark to make it more dramatic.
For normal purposes, you could get away with a pen and note pad, good obsevation skills, logical mind, and minimal knowledge of how to conduct and investigation.

The Elzetta flashlight holder looks like a great product for less than $30. Add a $36 Surefire light and you should be all set for under 70 bucks. Can't beat that.
