Is the Nite Stalker 220mm Handheld spotlight any good? Whats it like compared to a Lightforce? Is there anything wrong with a Nite Stalker at all? and how does it compare to a Lightforce 240mm Blitz handheld? Which one will shine the furthest? I'm using it for shooting foxes and roos at long distances They are almost alike and both good range. I don't see how you would go wrong with either. For me I guess it would come down to price and availability.

Who is responsible for paying for this broken item at work? This is a long story. A photographer came to my workplace wanting to take photos for his portfolio. My workplace usually charges a fee for this, instead, they offered to let him take photos for free if he'd do some shots for their web page in exchange. There was no contract signed in this agreement, nor any waiver for lost or damaged equipment. The photographer put his $1200 lens out on a table and left the room. A coworker and I were checking out some handheld spotlights. When I handed them back to my coworker, we didn't connect and one was dropped on the table on which the lens was sitting. I don't know if my coworker also bumped the table in trying to catch the light, but the lens was shaken and fell to the concrete floor. We apologized and when he demanded money from us a week later for the broken lens, we went to our superiors to tell them about the situation. In discussions with the photographer, my employers decided that my coworker and I should handle it privately with the photographer. We were told by others not to call him as it was his fault for leaving expensive equipment out, etc. We called him finally because he was threatening to sue us for the expense. He's asking us to each pay one third of the cost, about $400 each, and a used lens is only $100 less than a new one ($1200); his warranty/insurance has run out as the lens is 3 years old. Is this right? Should we pay him or should our employer have paid him? Should he sue our employer instead? Is it just too bad for him and nobody owes him anything? Are there legal issues with this I should know about? Obviously if we tell him to do this or if he does sue the company I could lose my job, I work in an at-will employment state. Complicated, I know. It was on your premises and damaged by you and a coworker, so that he's only looking for 2/3 of the expense is pretty generous.
The business insurance should cover it, since you aren't personally liable because you are an agent of the company, and therefore as much as the owners want you not to involve them, they're involved whether they like it or not, especially considering the original deal was between the company and the photographer, and not you and him. This is actually their problem more than it's yours, which I suspect they know. They also can't legally recover the cost from you -- It's part of the liability a business assumes by having people come through the doors every day.
It's a crap situation all around, and it happens to the best of us. Hope it gets sorted out soon.

is it illegal to do this? hey guys :D this is kinda a stupid question but, i just noticed u can buy handheld spotlights on ebay and i was wondering if its illegal to shine a (noticeable) spotlight into the air for no reason (i know pretty dumb). please try to be nice, im just ASKING. i dont need your sarcastic remarks. p.s i live in california and im not planning to shine it in houses, airplanes or let alone even BUY it. thank you !!!! Depending on strength you cannot shine a laser or spotlight at an airplane or helicopter. You seem to know that already.
You can shine it up in the air unless you are in a restricted area, that means near an astronomy center telescope. Shining it on trees and far off on to the water is actually kinda fun, you never realize how much is out there in the dark.
You also cannot shine it on cars as you are driving, makes then think your the police.

Do the Lightforce handheld spotlights have HID lights in them? I want a Lightforce handheld spotlight for hunting foxes, I want a big spotlight like the 240mm Blitz, but does it have the HID (High Intesity Discharge) light in it? unaware of any portable spot light using HID. most use QI lamps, instant on, good bright light. HID takes awhile to warm up to full brightness.

Brightest flashlight? I work in law enforcement and I need a handheld flashlight that is extremely bright and projects a long distance. I would prefer one that doesn't use the 123 batteries as they don't last very long and are expensive. I'm not looking for a spotlight it has to be something I can hold in one hand easily no bigger than a maglite. What is the best spotlight for hunting foxes and roos with, The brightest one that will shine the furthest? I currently have an old Lightforce handheld 240mm Blitz spotlight that is a great spotlight and it mounts easily to my roof bar so I can drive and spot by myself. But i need a new spotlight and I have heard about these new HID (High Intensity Discharge) lights, Do the new Lightforce hand held spotlights have these HID lights in them? If not, do any other handheld spot lights have them? HP suggests one of these

What should I use to charge this battery? I lost the charger.? I have a battery from SEL that i got out of a handheld spotlight I am modifying. I lost the charger a while ago and I need to know where I can get another one for this battery. It's a lead-acid battery model SW 123 and it says on it 12V 3AH.
