I have a green laser that runs on batteries, I want to convert it to run on a AC / DC power supply? Laser is rated at 5mW, power supply is rated at 300 mA. Laser runs on 3 AAA Alkaline batteries at 4.5 V, power supply switchable from 1.5 to 12V including 4.5V. If I drilled a hole in the side or back of flashlight battery compartment, then ran a wire from negative side of empty battery cartridge and then did the same with the positive side, into a DC input jack and then to my AC/DC adapter, set to 4.5 V would that work? The battery cartridge is negative toward the front (toward laser and two red/white flashlights) and positive toward rear spring. If I install the input jack, making the pin input negative and the outside of the input (grounded to flashlight body?) positive and then do the same with the "switchable" pins on the power supply, will it work correctly, or is there something else I may need to do, such as some extra electronics to allow this process to take place and protect the laser? This is a $135.00 laser I use on my 16" Dobsonian Telescope to locate stars, but the problem is, the laser will only operate for 1/2 hour on a set of batteries, before it wont light! I figured if I can connect it to a constant supply of DC power, it will last most of the night and be so much more convenient than it is now. This green laser is actually a laser pointer that will shoot out to any star (to infinity) and when adjusted to the Telescope you are using, will "point out" any star, planet, nebula, etc. you point it to! Last night I saw Saturn and it's rings! Fantastic, except for the fast battery drain! And each time you have to replace batteries, you have to remove the laser and then readust it to the telescope. Very frustrating when you have to do that once every 1/2 hour during a 2 to 8 hour star gazing session, not to mention expensive! Any help with this will be appreciated! I need a green Light for hunting were can I get one cheap? I need a Laser green flashlight for hunting hogs? Were can I find one that is not expensive? Here is a link showing you what you need. The laser light is good out to 250 yards and has a bow hunting mode that lights up a 25 foot circle at 35 yards. The light is available in white, red, or green. I believe the green lets you see the game better then red does and does not spook the game either

*HELP* Do green laser give off radiation, like x-rays? Heard of a new method that is an alternative to x-rays. It's where you hold a green laser under the spot being watched, then a picture is taken. It's almost like putting a flashlight under your hand, not much but a glow. Does anyone know if this laser gives radiation? My guess is you don't. But it would be great if you did!!! Light is just another form of radiation. X-rays are useful because they perfectly pass through soft tissue but not through bone.

My friend pointed a 30mw green laser at my eyes, im kind of worried. please help.? My friend pointed a 30mw green laser at my eyes, but he said he only pointed the many dots that spread out at my eyes, not the real laser. Isn't the many dots that are spread out the real laser? ever since he pointed it at my eyes, my eyes have been hurting, and sensitive to light, and everytime i try to focus on something my eyes would hurt, and i see dark spots..it feels like im going blind. he pointed at it yesterday and im starting to notice the effects today. But he said the green dots that spread out is just like a flashlight, its not the real laser. Is that true?

I have a green laser pointer that uses 3AAA batteries, I want to run it on a 4.5 adapter, will it work? The battery compartment negative faces laser end, positive toward back end spring. If I remove spring, drill hole, install input plug ( negative to tip, positive to frame) soldier wires from battery pack to input plug, insert plug from 1.5 to 12V adapter, set at 4.5V, will it work? It also has a red and white flashlight which comes on with left or right twist at front, but all power provided from rear battery pack. Laser is rated as 5mW, DC adapter says maximum is 300mA will it work??? if so, how to do it correctly? This laser is being used on a 16" Dob Telescope as a finder and eats 3AAA batteries in 1/2 hour. Laser has a one minute on cycle, repress button for another minute, etc. 30 minutes, batteries drained for laser, but flashlights still operate. I think when batteries reach 4.0V, laser is non functional? Thanks, Vance It will typically work on adapters that have good voltage regulation. Cheap dumb adapters have high voltage at low load and normal voltage at rated load. A dumb 300mA adapter could give 4.5V at full load but 5V or higher when load is only 150mA or less. A cheap adapter with poor voltage regulation could fry your laser pointer.

Strange green laser problem? I got a green laser pointer from Think Geek last month, and now the laser dot has expanded in radius and decreased in brightness. Now instead of producing a bright focused point of green light, my laser is more like a weak green flashlight. It just happened completely randomly during normal use. I tried cleaning the lens and taking the (fresh) batteries out and putting them back in, but nothing worked. Is this a common problem with a simple fix? Or should I try to get it sent back? Well considering how lasers work (Google it if you really want to know and don't already) it doesn't seem like something that would happen often. Just an educated guess. I'd "bug them" about it in their live-chat-customer-support-chat-type-thing.
By the way, I envy you... I've had my eyes on TG's lasers for months now...
