Why did my Gerber Daisies die? Hello, I bought gerber daisies about 2 months ago. I potted them in a window box in an area that got alot of light. At first they did very well, and I watered them everyday. I even got new flowers to grow. But after a few weeks, they began to die... rapidly! I even moved them to the shade to see if it would change anything. Nope. Then to almost constant sunlight. Still no luck. Now, after 2 months, I have maybe one semi-healthy flower. All the others died. I read they need plenty of water and sunlight, but that they can't get too hot. Was it the heat that killed them, did I over-water them? I loved these flowers so much, can anyone tell me how I can grow them effectively? With any plant if yuou water it too much or if it doesn't have proper filtration it can die. Was it "potting soil" that you used or something different? Also does your window box have holes in it so that it can let the moisture out? If not then you need to put holes in it. Also only water your plants when they are dry. And when you plant the flowers, leave about 1/2 an inch of the plany sticking out of the soil.

Does it look nice or cheap when a bridesmaids holds one single gerber daisy? The colours of my wedding are apple green, light pink and chocolate brown. My bouquet will have a combination of apple green and light pink gerber daisies with some other floral added but I was thinking a single light pink daisy for each of the bridesmaids against their Chocolate brown dresses. It's an outdoor wedding if that helps you visualize. I love your flower choice. Please consider, though, that gerber daisies are not the heartiest of flowers - they wilt, and they wilt quickly. And you don't want your 'maids carrying a wilted flower, do you? You may want to consider a small bouquet of pink daisies and some greenery. Like one other answerer said, it looks lovely when the bridesmaids carry a smaller version of the brides bouquet.

Anyone have pictures of light blue hrydandas with gerber daisies and rose? Maybe creme roses? I'm assuming you mean hydrangea

Way way tmi, but I gave my son gerber puffs for the first time 2 days ago, now his poop is pale colored. Could? Could the puffs have caused this light colored poo? Yes!!! The same thing happened when I gave my daughter the Puffs. Also, bananas gave her gray colored BM's. Changes in diet will change the colors and/or consistency of the BM's.

Live in Maryland. Can I keep Gerber Daisies over the winter inside; maybe use grow light? I would like to bring my gerber daisies inside over the winter since they are full of blooms and very pretty. Is this possible? Thought I would put a grow light on them. Would appreciate any help I can get. You surely may bring them in and just keep in a sunny window...however, gro lights would be even better....the main thing is to keep where the temps are in the 50's up until no more than 70 degrees...the biggest problem with Gerbers in the house is that roots at the bottom get too wet. If this happens, use 1 tablespoon of peroxide per 8 ounces of warm water...don't let it get on the leaves...they need good drainage in the house. You might decide to divide the plant and make two plants. In this case you could create a better draining soil.

If all matter is light (Gerber) - what significance does "measuring" the speed of light have? all matter is not light.
matter has a very simple definition: it has mass and takes up space.
light, a.k.a. photons, have a mass of precisely zero.
as far as we know to date, photons are also point particles - they take up no space.
Gerber is a just another in a long line of people that have heard of a few formulas and are mixing those formulas together with
a) his incomplete understanding of these equations
b) metaphysics and religion
in order to arrive at conclusions that seem intriguing but are in fact completely wrong in terms of the basic science. this basic science has been tested in numerous experiments. that's what counts to scientists.
sorry - i am trying hard not to be harsh. i do not discount everything he has posited (i am not a "student" of his ideas). perhaps he's got some good ideas.
but this kind of extrapolation from some small number of facts (culled from a number of random & disparate locations) to complete nonsense is not all that uncommon.

Gerber daisy questions? Ok.. so I just purchased a beautiful gerber daisy that I want to keep in my office. Any suggestions about how to keep it healthy and happy? It gets probably at least 2 hours max 3 of sunlight but is also getting the lights in my office which are soft bulbs.. I have not repotted it.. but should I ?? Any suggestions would be great!!!! thx I'm not very good with indoor plants ( or perhaps it is my daughter who keeps touching the leaves and flowers or my son who thinks it is funny to cough into the terrarium! ) but I think it would be a good idea to repot.
A pot that has a built in drainage tray that clips on is a good idea in case you happen to over water. Only water the plant when the top of the soil is dry.
Turn the pot a quarter turn each day so that it grows evenly straight. Protect from drafts and fertilise with a liquid fertiliser as advised on the packet for indoor plants.

Does the fact that gerber knives are now made in China bother you? I used to swear by these knives but now i see that they are made in china. i really want to continue to support the company but i dont know if i can in light of the fact that they are made in china. has their quality done down or is it the same? Yes...Good bye Gerber...

Also, why are you wanting to continue to support a company that has outsourced their labor? You are supporting a company that fired US workers to employ Chinese at a wage considered here as poverty...or they use the Chinese penal system for labor.

What are other good first foods for my child, besides Gerber? All you see in the stores for starting baby's solid food is made by Gerber. Can I give him regular applesauce(maybe with a little less sugar) or mush my own fruits/vegs? Please shed some light. Sure, you can make your own baby food and would probably be much better than anything Gerber makes. You can steam veggies like squash, sweet potato, carrots, green beans, etc... and mash or puree. Add water to thin if necessary. Mash soft ripe fruits like bananas (the easiest and most plentiful - I don't know why anyone would ever buy jarred banana), peaches, pears, papaya, avocado. This way you can also vary the consistency for your baby and they'll be less likely to be fussy over texture later.
You can buy unsweetened applesauce in big jars that is exactly the same as what comes in the baby food jars. No need to buy into Gerber.
