Making a flashlight out of homemade materials, can I use hot glue to hold it together? I have to make a flashlight out of homemade materials, and I was wondering if I could use hot glue as a way to attach the wire to the battery. I thought that as long as the wire and battery are connected the electrons could still flow through. Will the hot glue interfere with the light? i think i wouldn't.
the reason is that hot glue flows, and it would be fairly easy to get a little between the wire and the battery.
on the other hand, if you use a piece of cardboard to hold the wire down, and hotglue that to the battery, you should be okay.
that's actually a pretty cool project.
you could role a tube around batteries, put a few layers of cardboard as the top, glued inside the tube, with a hole the size of the bulb, and run a wire from the hole down inside the tube to the other end.
then you just have to fasten the wire, and make sure the batteries don't fall out.

flashlight?????????? Suppose that two flashlight beams are shone on a white screen, one through a pane of blue glass and the other through a pane of yellow glass. What color appears on the screen where the two beams overlap? Suppose, instead, that the two panes of glass are placed in the beam of a single flashlight. What then? Theoretically with the 2 flashlights the colour would be green.
With the 1 flashlight shining through 2 panes there SHOULD be no colour coming through. This is because the blue pane absorbs all but blue light and the yellow pane absorbs all but yellow light. When the overlap all light should be absorbed in ideal conditions. In the real world the colour coming through would probably be a faint yucky green or blue colour.

How do I take off the attachable flashlight on my handgun? How in the heck do i take off the attachable flashlight my bf bought for my handgun? It's a XTI Procyon flashlight on a Sig Sauer hand gun. You have to reach up from under the light with your hand. There are two buttons/levers towards the front of the slide/clamp area. Grasp them and pull down and slide the light off the rail.

Why does the rubber on my flashlight smell smokey and how can I get rid of the odor? I just bought a brand new non-brand flashlight from Meijer. I opened the packaging and the rubber grip reeks of a smokey odor. I imagine it's because it was made in China and they probably put some horrible chemicals in there. How do I eliminate the odor. I left it outside for two dys and it still reeks every time I pass by. This is what I would try: scrub it with baking soda, then let it sit, still covered in it for a day or so. Baking soda is great at absorbing odors, and should not damage it in any way. Just don't let any of it accidentally get into the battery compartment. If that doesn't do it, then it may just be the chemicals used in making the rubber itself, and you may just be stuck with it. Good luck.
