I would like to know what is recommended for making a small 4 led pocket flash light? I am using a 5mm l.e.d. with 3 aaa batterys. But i am not sure what intensity and what angle i should use. Also will i need to use a resistor of any sort? I made the first flash light and one of the 3 batteries blew up. i am not sure what caused it, since the rest are fine. will putting some type of magnifying glass over a led flash light help make it more bright? No lens will increase the brightness of a light. However, it may be possible to focus the available light into a more intense area, which would make it more usable. MagLight has had adjustable beam flashlights for years.
LED Flash Light? I bought an LED flash light. It came with a red bulb for the night. I tried both on a pitchblack room, The night-bulb gave a red glow, but it was still a bit dark, when I used the LED bright light, it lit the whole room.

The bright white light afer you've used it for awhile will kind of leave you blind (you know, when you see spots) in the pitch black as your eyes adjust back to the darkness. But the red light is bright enough if your in the dark, your eyes can adjust much quicker after you turn it off.
Also if your camping in the pitch black getting one of those bright white LED lights in your face kinda sucks, use the red light and you won't blind your friends.
The last benefit of the red LED is that it much more Arnold "Terminator" like, you can reenact your favorite scene.

Why, in Windows Vista, when you safely remove a flash drive, the LED light doesn't turn off? How to fix this? In windows XP when you safely remove the flash drive the led light on the flash drive turns off. but on vista the led remains on. is there a way to change this so the light turns off when you safely remove it? The light is on when the computer is accessing the drive. In XP the computer cuts off access to the drive. In Vista, something different happens, so the light stays on. There is really no way to turn off the light, unless you disable the USB port in the Hardware Manager. You shouldn't need to worry about it, as long as you aren't transferring data when you unplug the drive.

Where is the LED flashing red light when Blackberry 8900 is on silent? I put my Blackberry 8900 on silent but the flashing red LED light seems not to work under this profile. I don't want my phone to ring but I want to know if I have any messages waiting. Is it possible to both have the Blackberry on silent and have the LED light flashing?

My BlackBerry Curve 8310 is currently on silent and it flashes a red LED light, located at the front of my phone at the top right corner, whenever I receive a new message. However, there have been a few times that the LED light won't notify me if I have a new message waiting, even though my settings are correct. I guess it's just a minor glich. But to answer your question, yes, it is possible to have your BlackBerry on silent and still have the option to be notified of incoming messages or not. If your light is not flashing, check your settings and adjust your profiles to designate if you want to be notified or not.
EDIT: Well, since both our phones are Curves, I'm going to assume they work just about the same....
In order to change the settings:
Look for the "Profiles" icon (this is where you can make your phone loud, vibrate, quiet, etc.) and click on it and then scroll down to "Advanced..." and click.
Next, from the Profiles menu, click on "Quiet" and from there click on every option you like, whether it's Calendar, SMS Text, Messenger - New Message, Level 1 Message, Phone, etc. and you can designate the ring tone, volume, LED Notification, etc.
Once you're done, save your changes, and you should be all set.
