How can i use the serial number off my tractor to identify it? I have a economy tractor but don't know what year it is. All I have is the Serial or Vin #. Go to the website for the company--for example, if Economy is the brand of the tractor, type in "Economy tractor--serial (or vin) number", or "Economy tractor identify", and usually you can find owner's manuals, instructions, warranties, and all sorts of information.

And my father is a diesel mechanic which he will fix any problems I might run into while using the tractor. He has been teaching me about working on diesel engines. Your letter could use a little fine tuning. Your local New Holland store should be able to help you out with getting a loan for the tractor and a letter isn't necessary.

can employer reduce your wages because of the economy ? when you drive a semi-tractor trailer locally Yes, as usual an employer holds all the cards, but you have to agree to it if you don't then they can lay you off or dismiss you (fire), either way I think you will get unemployment, around 50% of pay. try as best you can to get info . as to how long the reduction will last, weather you will have the opportunity to receive lost wages, etc., lots of luck and look for other opportunities

What kind of motors power train locomotives? How economical are they? Can the motors be used in semi-trucks? I was just wondering if there was anyone working on a way to power tractor trailers that would provide an alternative to diesel motors that power them today? At over 4 dollars for a gallon of fuel, can the trucking industry survive without severly driving up the cost of everything in the economy? Locomotives use very large diesel motors driving an alternator to drive an electric motor to drive the train. Sounds complicated, but the electric drive has similar characteristics to steam power, lotsa power at low speeds. The only economy is the loads they can transport, compared to road transport.
As usual, there are losses when generating electricity and then using electric drive. But these are more than offset by the load moving ability.
I think you are probably American. Down here is Australia, much "outback" freight movement is done by "road- trains", huge prime movers hauling many trailers. This makes economic sense also.

Thanx, HB Yep they are cheap and they do work, But when thy tear up your got problems, parts hard to find and can't get anyone to work on them, If you want a good Tractor get a Kubota, New Holland or John Deere, That is you top 3 models or a Lot people think so

B) Through covert means, you get all the blueprints (down to each bolt), know-hows, manufacturing knowledge, etc, and start manufacturing it in your country. It depends. If you start manufacturing it in your country, you would have to take resources away from something else. You need to hire workers, for example. If you take these workers away from producing something that can be produced more efficiently, then it would not help the economy. Having access to blueprints will not make you more efficient than the country that you import from. At best, you could be equally efficient in the short run, but probably not, because you have not worked out all of the kinks in the manufacturing process that the competition has.
It all boils down to efficient allocation of resources.
