I need help washing white socks manually? I don't know how to use my mom's washing machine, therefore I need someone on here to tell me how to wash white socks manually. These are white socks. How do I wash them without using a washing machine? Get a fingernail brush, the kind you slip your fingers into(they look sort of like brass knuckles). Make the socks thoroughly wet, add a little bit of detergent, then scrub with the nail brush. You can get the brush in any drug store where they sell the nail stuff. They don't cost much.

Question about baby laundry detergent? I was just wondering if I absolutely have to buy baby laundry detergent or if I can buy any laundry detergent that has no scents or dyes, such as Dynamo Free and Clear, or All free and clear. I just wanted to know so I could use this on the whole family's clothes and not have to buy 2 separate brands. And also until what age should I use baby detergent before switching to regular detergent? And one more question....I got a ton of stuff at my baby shower, clothes a million blankets towels and everything. Should I wash everything before I use it or is brand new items ok to use first without washing? you can use any detergent you want. your baby will be being held by people who are wearing shirts washed in other detergents, they'll be laying down on your bed which was probably washed in 'normal' detergent, etc. you can use whatever you want -- baby detergents are a scam I think, they're so expensive and unnecessary. we use all free&clear and ecos free&clear and use it with everything including our cloth diapers.
I have been guilty of NOT washing stuff before putting on my son but you really should...they get touched by a lot of people in the stores and apparently there's chemicals used on them to 'preserve' them. that new clothes smell is a chemical on it that repels stains from people touching them. anyways, wash it if you can BUT don't wash everything you've got. you might want to keep receipts and tags on stuff in case you need to return it if your baby never ends up wearing it. I know that with a lot of my newborn stuff, my son never wore it and I was excited and tore the tags off and washed it and hung it up and we never used them. even if you can't return it, you'll get more money for stuff with tags on it at consignment stores or craigslist or at a yard sale -- just a thought...in case you're into selling used stuff to make some cash after they outgrow it. now I keep tags on everything until I know I'm going to use it. hope I helped.

is dynamo 2x free and clear laundry detergent considered low sudsing? Unless it says HE on the front it usually is NOT considered low sudsing.

How to remove stain from leather patch on white jeans? I noticed stain spreading from the leather patch (dark drown) on my white jeans after the first wash. The jeans was hung dried and Dynamo (liquid gel type detergent) was used during laundry. Please offer tips to remove the stain, thanks! What you're talking about is "bleed" from the brown patch to the white of the jeans. That may be a tough one to get off, and you'd really have to be careful. I'd first spray the area that has the run off from brown with Shout and work it into the brown staining with a toothbrush. Try to get most of it out with the Shout. Then, if that doesn't get it, you'll have to try using a COLOR SAFE bleach to get the rest of it and work with the toothbrush. Do not wash these jeans in warm water. They, obviously shouldn't have been washed in warm water in the first place. BUT, if it says on the lable that warm was safe to use and that's what you did and this still happened, I'd try taking them back to the store!!! Good luck, but, if you work on it with the brush and the things I told you to use, it very well could come out.

washing white socks - still need help? Ok, i have my white sock soaking in warm water. I scrubbed them a little bit on the bottom, but not sure if i did a good job at all. I would use tide, but thats just because thats what i use most often, you shouldnt really need fabric softner or anything, just some detergent in the water, let it sit a few mins, come back and swish it around real good, scrub some dark bits a little if you want. then let them sit a little, then dump out the water, refil swish.. let sit, and then rinse well. Im not sure if this is the perfect way to do it, but its how i did it when our washing machine is broken.. if your not satisfied with how clean they are, dont allow them to dry. but they should be clean enough to wear again, they just might not be super bright. My aunt used to boil her socks once in awhile with lye soap, she said it made them bright white again, im not sure how to do all that tho. when my socks start to become less white i soak them in oxy clean over night, seems to brighten them back up, but really, when i wear socks im usually wearing long pants, and shoes or boots, so nobody really sees them anyway... But yeah.. add your detergent to the water, you can add a little more to tough spots.. dont use as much as you would for a normal load of laundry, only really need enough to make the water soapy.. i never really measure tho. make sure you rinse them really really well.

Are more expensive laundry detergents really better than cheaper detergents? I've been using Dynamo, which I think is one of the cheapest you can find out there. I'm wondering if it cleans as well since my towels tend to regain their 'used' smell after only a short time using them. I always hang up wet towels to dry them, but it seems they get smellier quicker after each wash. I don't seem to have that problem with clothing, but the concept is the same...if my laundry isn't getting clean enough, do I really want to wear it? Any suggestions aside from trying every detergent out there? BTW, by 'wet towels' I mean after showering. I always dry them in the dryer after washing them. The cheaper ones are watered down...
