dorcy LED flashlight i have a LED dorcy flashlight that runs at 110 lumens with 3 AAA batteries. i know a AAA has 950 mah and i want to know how it outpreforms my surefire G2 LED at 80 lumens on 2 3v cr123a batteries. i know it has to do with the efficiency of the bulb which has a yellow tint to it so i can run on the 4.5v source. finnally i want to how i can tell how long a battery will run at a surtain voltage. or if you need to know the wattage and how do mah,volts,watts interweve in this subject.
You need the wattage or the current before you can make any comparisons, and even that won't tell you how long the battery will last unless you have the capacities of the batteries.
If you know the current, you can multiply by the voltage to get the wattage.
To find the actual capacity of the batteries, get the amp-hr number, which may or may not be available, and multiply by the battery voltage to get watt-hours.
With battery capacity in watt-hrs, and lamp power in watts, you can divide to get hours of life.
One problem is that amp-hr capacities are only approximate, and vary with current level.

Which model is it? Going to the dorcy website, I wasn't able find a perfect match to "gel bright flashlight".
You should give Batteries Plus a try, they might have a store near where you live and they'll figure it out for you free of charge and they'll have the new battery you need if you didn't already bought one.
My old sears professional rechargeable flashlight quit. I work in attics and such and need a good flashlight? Sears (for some reason?) quit making their old professional rechargeable flashlight with the real glass bulb (about 4 inches in diameter) and an adjustable base so you could position it aimed at a spot while you worked. Dorcy makes one that looks the same but it's a poor imitation of a great flashlight. Doesw anyone know of a good "working" flashlight? Rechargeable would be nice but not essential. Thanks

Dorcy 41 4416 Metal Gear 200 Lumen Focusing Led Flashlight Review The dorcy 41 4416 is a flashlight with the brightness and strength of much more expensive flashlights. It features an anodized aluminum frame, 200 watt cree emitter, momentary operation switch as well as uses common AA batteries. The light comes in between 20 30 and for the price, it s worth every penny. I took over a week to test my review unit, performing battery drain tests as well as light output over time. It gave me around 3 hours of really bright light and 2 hours of usable light. I like the fact that this light uses ubiquitous AA alkaline cells, versus more expensive cr123a or other less common / more expensive battery types. It comes in at 7.5 inches in length and 1 inch in width, making it easy to pocket and take with you at night. As far as the warranty, this light comes with a 1 year free replacement, which I guess you ll never have to use. This truly is a great light for the money, 200 lumens
