My door ajar light on 2000 Taurus mostly on, and now my remote key opener (driver's door) won't work??? Doors, hood and trunk are all shut. I see the "door ajar" question has been asked before, but don't see anything about the remote opener. When the door ajar light goes off, the remote still won't work?????? Spray WD40 on the drivers door latch and open and close the door several times. May take quite a bit of spraying. If the light still doesn't go out you will need a new door latch. The remote should work after that too unless it is a separate problem.

One of your switches is bad. Purchase replacements and replace them all. Or disconnect them one by one until the door ajar light goes out and then replace just that one.

You need to find out if you're alarm is aftermarket or stock (came with the car). An easy way to know, if you could still remember the remote, if it said "Cadillac" or was just blank it was prob stock, you could take it to the dealer. If it said something else (viper clarion, black widow, etc.) then it's aftermarket. If you can't remember, look under the steering wheel. If you can't find it, look for a siren and follow the wires...

It's virtually a certainty that you have bad diodes in your Alternator. Disconnect the Negative cable from your battery. Then remove the thick red wire from your Alternator, and wrap the end in a rag or something to make sure it doesn't touch any thing metal. Then re-connect the Negative Battery cable. If the light is no longer on, replace the Alternator.

I am not familiar with this model however I have come across this problem with a built in Miele W/M and T/D which began to move back into the appilance opening The door wich was mounted on the front of the appliance then fouled the cabinate meaning that the door would not close properly.
To fix the problem I had to pull the machines out a little bit probably only about 5 or 6 mm then put a blob of grip fil or good quality silicon behind the front feet to stop it going backwards into the opening. Has worked for the last 4 weeks so I will keep my finger crossed hope this is of help!
