Dewalt DE9135 European battery charger? I just purchased a DeWalt battery charger DE9135 from a merchant in UK. Its specs say: INPUT 230v, .75 amps. It has 3 square type electric plug. I purchased it for use in East Europe. I understand that the electric there requires 220v, and they use the round-type electric plugs. I did a search on the web, and the DE9135 is also sold there. I’m sure the East European models have the round-type plugs. Does anyone believe that the UK version of DE9135 will work in East Europe under the 220v conditions (given that I change the square plug to a round type plug)? 230V is Europe wide standard, which can be anything from 220V to 240V.
All you need is a plug adapter, or change the plug/cord. You have to watch what you do, you might void the warranty. If it has a removable cord, you should just change that.

Is there only one type of Dewalt battery charger for all drills? Even for drills a few years ago? you have to get the right voltage charger for your batteries but they all basically have the same footprint.

How do I get power to Dewalt radio battery charger when plugged in? Dewalt radio battery charger is not getting any power. Worked fine yesterday. Today no power at all just dead. Won't charge batteries or play radio. changed to a different receptacle still nothing. Any suggestions? If the cord is the removable type, make sure it is seated properly in the back of the radio. If not, check the cord for damage. The often break near the plug.

Will a Black and Decker FireStorm ps140 14.4 V battery work with a Dewalt DW9116 charger? I am able to fit it in and the base charger blinks like its charging, but the black & decker website says its only compatible with theirs. If the battery fits

can you use a dewalt 18v battery charger for a drill to charge a sawzall 18v battery? No Milwaukee batteries, maker of the "Sawzall", do not fit into DeWalt chargers.
Again Sawzall is a Milwaukee branded name for a recip saw. So if you have a DeWalt recip saw then the battery will fit into the charger, batteries from different manufacturers are not compatible.

My dewalt 18v battery charger actually charges 46 volts and 2 amps, why? Does this set up the NIcad batteries for Early Failure? Shouldnt it be 18 volts and 2 amps instead? the 2 amps is the continuous amperage from the bottom label. The open circuit voltage might be 46 Volts ... but it wont be when the batteries are hooked up. If the charger could maintain 46V while attached to the batteries, the current would go way up and batteries would be ruined almost instantly.
Most chargers have some intelligence built in (as do many batteries) include monitoring of voltage, current and temperature.
I just finished a reverse engineering job for batteries and charger for a major tool company ... the batteries had microcontrollers with A/D capability and temperature sensors on board. The chargers were quite suffisticated as well including pulsed charging schemes and monitoring/balancing of individual cell voltages.
Edit: To be fair, the tools I was investigating were at the higher end. It's true that there are a lot of 'stupid' chargers out there than can really harm/shorten the battery life.

How many watts would a 110v dewalt charger(for 18v batteries) use? I need to buy a voltage converter to convert from 240V (UK) so I can use a 110v(USA) battery charger, but approximately how many watts would the converter need to be capable of converting? I dont have the ampage, or wattage, i need an educated guess, or a way of measuring if its a dew alt 110 volt battery charger they are rated for 2 amps,the charger is rated by 2amps times 110 volts=220 watts,what you need is a step down transformer to bring down the voltage to 120 volts and rated at two amps for the battery charger.

battery charging for a dewalt battery? please can anyone help me with this, i own a dewalt battery charger DE9108 1 hour and a DE9117 fast charger i am told that a fast charge is good but needs to be charged via a three stage charge around every 20 fast charges, is this true ??, and if so is my DE9108 1 hour charger a three stage charger type,. (i am currently on the 18v system with 2.00 ah batteries ni-cd) check this info out
I believe you meant these 2. as to the 20 times I'm not sure. I've never had problems due to only using the fast charger in emergencies. remember these Ni-cad batteries like to be discharged completely before charging. use the simple rule of charging one while using one to allow you to have a battery ready without having to wait for a battery. this will also prolong your battery life
