How does the Sears Craftsman lifetime tool replacement warranty work? I dont have receipts for the tools. The are anywhere from slightly to extremely rusted. Do they give you a 1 for 1 replacement? If you have a socket or other tool set, do they give you a total new set? Even if 1 of your socket pieces is missing? It's 'unconditional' guarantee: rust alone will not qualify as it does not inhibit the functionality of the device.

Be cautious: Craftsman tools have been going a bit down hill in the past few years, and some of the older specimens are actually better tools (rachets are one example).
Clean off rust with steel wool and re oil. Older sockets unless they are fractured are perhaps better steel.
I've owned Craftsman tools for 40 years, but have moved to Snap-on and Husky brands for the above quality issues.

Are Sears Craftsman work gloves also covered by the lifetime warranty? I just wore through my pair. How do I determine the wireless remote # to use for a Sears Craftsman garage door opener model #139.53975SRT1? I bought a house with a Sears model #139.53975SRT garage door opener. The wireless remote left at the house was a #315 Craftsman. It does not do anything to the door. I bought a new #315 remote and it doesn't do anything either. I don't know if I have the correct remote, or if I need service on the GDO. It does open and close with the control inside the garage and the keypad outside. HELP!!!! The remote must be matched to the opener by matching the dip switches both on the opener and the remote. This operation is covered in the book that came with the unit.
If switch 1 is in the top position on the opener, it must also be in the top position in the remote, and so on. Matching all the switches will syncronise the remote to the opener.

No power to my Sears Craftsman Garage door opener? It seems as if my 5 amp 1/2 horsepower garage door opener is not getting power to the motor. A green light comes on when the power button is pressed, but only clicks from the unit without engaging to the motor. The gears appear to be in well working condition. Any ideas? Motor does not engage while the green light flashes on the unit. One thought. Check the security lock out button on the wall unit. When that is pressed, it stops the door from opening or closing. (This was put in for when you go on vacation or want to secure the area and someone else has a variable remote). If in doubt, press the security button once and then try to open the door.
