My 18 volt craftsman battery charger doesn't charge? I dont know if it's the batteries or the charger, 1 battery is dead but when I put it in the charger the green light stays on like it is charged, the other starts out normally then jumps to green but still has no charge. I had the same problem with these batteries, your best bet is to get on Ebay and get another charger, you might even find a whole set (used)really cheap. I finally gave up on the craftsmen and went with the Dewalt, but in the end wound up having the same problem with them. Over time they all wear out, you just have to buy new ones. Or better yet if you still have the reciept take it back to the store. I have returned many craftsman power tools over and over again.

Craftsman charger for 16.8 (1323414) battery? I have looked everywhere for a battery charger for my Craftsman Drill. The charger Model # is 1425009. I have not been able to find one anywhere. Does anyone know a replacement battery that can go in the drill or where I can find a replacement charger? You can order replacement parts from Sears on line. They ship right to your house.

craftsman 12 volt battery charger, charging a car battery? I have a 12 - 14.4v craftsman cordless drill battery charger. I would like to know what the white wire inside the charger would be used for. the red=positive, black= negitive, but i am not sure what i should connect it to? It is a quick charger. i think i should mention that. thank you The battery cut out? does the stop the battery from chargeing? i know that the lower the amp charging the deeper the charge. that is that i am chooting for it is actually a 2.x amp output at least. its a quick charger. should i connect the white wire at all? and just guess when its charged? or would it go to the positive so show full charge? Not a good idea. A car battery is capable of absorbing in excess of 60A at 14V. Your charger is probably rated at 1A at 14V. It will not only take forever, it will destroy your charger in the process.

Does this mean the battery is dead or the charger is no good? Thank you:) Most probably it's the power output on the transformer that's gone, it's quite common with these units.
More common than the battery itself failing...that tends to be more progressive and you notice it not holding charge like it used to for some time before it fails for good.
It might, just might be the neon indicator that's failed and the battery may still be charging.....you'd have to check the voltage at the charging outputs to be sure.
Highly unlikely though.

I'm looking for a 13.2V battery charger for a Craftsman drill? Sears no longer carries the chargers. I have 2 batteries and a gfood drill, but noway to recharge. Any suggestions I suggest that you take one of the batteries into you local Sears store and compare it to the current 19.2 ni-cad type battery, not the lithium. If the connector design is the same between the two, than the charger for the 19.2 will also work with your 13.2. I have one of the 19.2 and the charger is good for batteries between 7.2v and 24v. If the design is different, check it against others to see if it is compatible.

Does someone knows how to fix a Craftsman 19.2 V, 1 hour battery charger? Hi, I connected the charger while I was using my solar system. It buzzed a couple seconds and then turned off, maybe I should say blew away. It do not smell like a burned component. I haven't opened it as I do not have the proper screwdriver, but will do soon. It would be more expensive to repair the charger on your own than it would be to replace it. On the comment of craftsman no longer making good tools that is opinion and I have seen almost every brand of cordless power tools with battery and charger problems. Also craftsman tools can be found to be half the price of other brands and just as reliable. A new charger will cost you $29.99 compared to dewalts $69.99

Multimeter reads about 3 volts. fully charged it should be around 21. i have read that you can use a car battery or car battery charger to 'jump start' the dead battery so the charger will recongize it. is this possible? is it safe? thanks a nickel cadium battery is different ..every time you recharge it the less life it has.. recharging this kind of bettery is like letting one pint out of a five gallon container.. now you say it is three volts.. this means it is chemically done... i think this is one of those emergency batteries for starting.. if it is new then you can get a replacement.. providing it is in the age guidelines.. ok gilermo.

can i charge a car battery with a 12-14v craftsman battery charger? i have taken apart a 12-14 v craftsman battery charger. there is a red, black, and hite wire. red being positive, black being negitive, but what is the white wire for? do i need it to charge or is it for full battery? can i use it to charge and to tell when the batteries are full with a car battery? :)
There should be two sets of wires.
1. Input from the mains. The should have 3 wires - €Live, Neutral and Earth. Some chargers may not have the earth wire.
2. The output leads. Thie would be positive and negative.
The output leads (the conductors - not the insulation) should be fatter than the input leads.

Evaluating light on 9V cordless drill battery charger stays on and will not allow the battery to charge? When I place the 9V Sears craftsman cordless battery into the charger the evaluating light stays on and the battery will not take a charge. If I lift the battery out of the hole just a little bit and the evaluating light does not go on then the battery will charge. The problem is that the battery needs to be propped up very carefully and a spacer added to keep the battery from falling completely into the hole and this takes just the right tough. Many times I return to check the battery and the eval light is on and no charge. So I start again. Can the eval system be disabled? Unplug the charger. Use rubbing alcohol and clean the contacts on the battery and charger. Does it happen with both batteries? If so then you probably have a bad charger. If its just one battery then that battery is bad. There isn't any way to disable the evaluation process most chargers check the battery when you first insert it.

How to fix a craftsman 19.2 battery? My 4 year old Daughter left my craftsman light 19.2 on all night. When i went to charge it, the charger said the battery was defective. The charger normally says charging or fully charged or defective. The battery may still be good... but I think it is deeply discharged making the charger think the battery is defective. A dead or defective NiCad battery can be fixed using another GOOD fully charged battery.
The good battery will slowly safely charge your deeply discharged battery. Power will flow from the good battery to your bad battery.
Example of how to connect a rechargable NiCad AAA AA C or D battery. Note connect the positive to the positive and the negative to the negative.

Now your craftsman 19.2 battery has two Positive and two Negative terminals... as shown below.

Give this about 15-30 minutes and then try using your charger to charge the bad battery normally.
This has worked for me. Saved me the cost of recycling the battery and buying a new one.
This is safe since batteries can be connected in parallel normally to provide more amp hours to a device.
Think of a battery as a cup of water. Where water is the power. One cup is mostly empty and the other is full. Connect the cup and the water will flow and the empty cup will fill up with power.
