What voltage should a 3v Lithium battery (CR123) read on a voltmeter? I have two 3v Lithium batteries that indicate exactly three volts on my volt meter. Other batteries, (fresh)such as the standard 1.5v flashlight battery, always indicate a couple of fractions higher. Should the 3v battery also indicate a couple of fractions higher? not necessarily
Anyone use rechargeable camera batteries in their Surfire flashlight? Looking at some other cr123 batteries for cameras and wondering if anyone has used them in their flashlight,wondering if rechargeable cr123 batteries will work?
Well, yes they will, although they have a slower discharge rate (results in less juice getting out to power bulb) and a lower mAh (total charge) than primaries (not rechargeable), you do appear to lose a few lumens and definitely have less operating time (both less negatively affected using led bulbs rather than xenon). However there is a large cost savings - just depends on what's more important to you. If I was using my 3 battery (xenon still) Defender for critical purposes (law/rescue) I would use primaries. The way I use it now (seldom), it is more desirable for me to use rechargeables. I'm kind of a rechargeable freak anyway - I have many - all types. I also have a lot of led flashlights that I use rechargeables in totally.
Be sure and get high mAh (milli Amp hour) batteries, which for CR123As is going to currently mean about 1,200. The battery manufacturers keep upping the ante with secondaries (rechargeables) by increasing capacities on a regular basis.

To the point at hand, which is it a laser or a red dot sight? Most of both use those "coin" shaped batteries also known as watch batteries. Take the cover off and dump them out, the kind of battery it is should be stenciled on it. You might need a magnifying glass though, their kinda small.

what difference would using two batteries make on my flashlight instead of using just one? I have a Flashlight that came with one CR123 (16340) 3.7V (880 mAh) battery. It also came with a part that extends the length of the flashlight, so im guessing, that by using that extension part i would have to use two batteries.
If you wondering what flashlight it is..., its a solar force L2m.
so what would happen if i use two of these 3.7V batteries instead of just one. Is it risky? could i kill the LED by doing so? if not, would i get brighter light or would the batteries just last longer?
The extra part is most likely cosmetic. Some people prefer long flashlights, others prefer short.
Of course, you can probably use it as storage for an extra battery.
Even if there is wiring, most likely it will be using the second battery in parallel. This will just provide extended battery life.

Fenix TK15: Ready for Harshness by Nutnfancy The Fenix TK15 user manual promises the light is intended for harsh conditions. I found that to be a true statement. In my backpacking, water testing, and tactical shooting clinics, the TK15 excelled and no failures were noted. Expect to find an incredibly easy to use UI in this 6.0 oz medium sized tactical torch that runs on CR123 primaries or rechargeable Lith Ion protected 17670 or 18650 power cells. Accessable modes and mode memory are discussed and shown. The ease of use is refreshing here and on several levels, the TK15 s simplicity is a key selling point. Brightness is impressive from the Cree XP G LED emitter (details given in vid). Throw is slightly less than the still excellent 4Sevens Maelstrom G5 but still good to about 75 meters in the weapon light POU. The pure whiteness of the XP G is always a welcomed attribute for me and this version of TK15 throws bright and clean. The smooth and somewhat deep reflector shows no artifacts, has excellent spill, and has just a slight donut phenomena (common for lights designed for throw). Construction and quality are outstanding: good knurling, permanently attached emitter with no failure points, tactile feel on buttons, thick walled 6061 1 diameter aluminum tubing, strong enough blackened pocket clip, squared anodized threads, fore and aft impact springs, AR glass lens, excellent digital regulation, and drop and waterproof to reasonable levels.
