Should I use a circular saw or table saw to cut 5/16, 3 inch hardwood in half? I have measured my room out and it seems that I will need to split some boards. I know a table saw would do the job, but could a circular saw do the same thing. If so, what would I need to accomplish this? I assume that you have both types of saws available to you? In any case I think that a power miter saw would be the best tool for the job.
How do you cut a straight line on pipe using a circular saw? When using a circular saw and you are cutting pipe or a wood log, how can you ensure that you cut a straight line around the pipe with out making any marking with a pen? To cut a straight line you use a wrap. A pipe wrap costs 5-10 bucks at a hardware store and if you need to make a lot of cuts spend the money and get one. If you only have a few cuts on on pipe use a tape measure. Take your tape numbers in and wrap it around the pipe. Line up where the tape measure contacts itself and pull it tight no wrinkles. and mark one side of the tape all the way around and there you have it straight line. Also hold back a few inches from the end of the tape when you wrap it or the hook will mess with you.. Its pretty much the only guaranteed accurate way. If using a miter saw get the laser attachment and square your fences if you absolutely cant mark it..

How do I install a blade on my circular saw? I was recently given an 18 volt Black and Decker circular saw. It came with a blade but not installed on it. I am having trouble getting the bolt out so that I can install the blade. Is there something that I am missing? I read the manual and it said to just give a quick "jerk" in the counter clockwise direction which I have done numerous times to no avail. Please help!
If this is a *Firestorm* (and even if it's not) the saw comes with a spindle lock for blade changing. It should be a pin type of thing that you simply push in while you turn the wrench. If not, some models have a flat on the spindle that you put a wrench on while turning the bolt. Others (old ones) had nothing at all and depended on the blade to get counter friction for the bolt. This being a battery tool and fairly new, I would think there IS a spindle lock button somewhere on the case.

Can I safely use a 5in circular saw blade in a saw that came with a 5.5in blade? I can't find a 5.5in cement saw blade to fit my Kawasaki 21.6v circular saw. I don't want to dull the 5.5in blade that came with the saw trying to cut cement board. Can I use a 5in fiber cement blade with the saw even though the recommended blade size is 5.5in? no problem.
What type of beetle is flat and has a circular saw looking thing on its back? My husband and I saw this beetle (at least I assume it is a beetle) the other day. It is light brown in color and has 6 legs. It is about 1.25" long and about 1/2" wide. It's body is rather flat. But, what we were most intrigued by is the fact that it had a circular saw looking thing on its back. Any entomologists out there know what type of beetle this is?

Can a circular saw cut down trees and branches? I have a circular saw, and a lot of down branches and trees in my yard. They are all relatively small, but can I use a circular saw to cut them? You can, but you will badly gum up the blade, and the cutting depth is very limited. A better option would be to borrow or rent a chain saw, or at least a Sawzall. Hope this helps.
How do i get a good cut on skirting board with a circular saw? I am replacing my skirts in my house, and i am struggling to get the cuts right, despite having a good circular saw, and a clamp the cuts are not quite snug so dont sit together as well. Has anyone got any ideas or advice on how to remedy this? thanks R circular saw are you referring to a table saw or a skill saw. depending on what saw you are using when you cut with a table saw have the good side of the board up that will prevent chipping from happening, if it is a skill saw then good side down to prevent chipping other way is to pre-tape the board. next what kind of blade are you using for instance get a good plywood blade and sharp one. if that is what your skirting is made out of. the more teeth you have on the blade makes it a cleaner cut. or if it is not the machine then you need to get more practise using the saw,to get good cuts. one other thing you can do is to back bevel the cuts then the two face edges can be pushed together tighter. good luck watch the fingers.

As I stared at them for a few minutes, I realized that the lights each went in its own circular path and all of them met up at one point once their path cycles were over, which was every few seconds. The lights seemed to be above the clouds and were quite fast and agile. I rushed home, grabbed my camera, and voila. This video was born. Seriously, what are those lights? Any ideas?
