What should I store in my Geocache box? So far here is the list of items I've compiled so please no repeats. I plan on visiting the local dollar store tomorrow and hope to make something. What I make I have no idea yet. Any suggestions? I really need some help here cause it is going to be a big box and I want it at least 3/4 the way full. I also have some geocoins and travel bugs to store in them as well. Sounds like a good start. A neat idea is to put in some ready-to-go cache containers for people to get and do their own hides. A few people around here have done that, and the new ones are called things like spores, eggs, or sons of the original cache. I like to put extra AA batteries out for those who need some. Sometimes people put in a fancy, more expensive item for the FTF. Extra pens/pencils are good, too.

Survival gear,is this too much? I have recently taken a few things out of my survival bag to drop some weight and make room in my bag.I pack it all in one backpack,put the backpack in a GI duffel bag with my sleeping bag.The contents of the backpack include:12 inch KaBar USMC in waterproof sheath,canteen/cook cup in green cover,zip lock bag with long sleeve shirt and pair of wool socks in it,mess kit with a few crackers,2 oatmeal packets,a little salt,sugar,stainless steel bottle,cheap regular size multi tool,small multi tool with mini flashlight,headlight,small led flashlight,about 150-200 ft of para cord,2 garbage bags,survival book Army field manual in zip lock bag,2 nails for shelter making,traps,etc.Small candle,pocket size fishing/sewing kit,signal mirror,a couple of small pocket knives,safety orange poncho,p-38 can opener,2 waterproof match boxes,flint magnesium firestarter,2 strips of duct tape,about 6 q tips,alcohol pads,neosporin,bandages,headache medicine,small rag,shemagh,OD green watch cap,leather welding gloves,3 zip ties,blue sleeping bag rolled up tight,it is all relatively light weight,mostly waterproof,my duffel bag has straps so I can wear it as a backpack,I know I could lose a lot of my gear but It fits and doesn't take up too much room,what do you think?Constructive critism is welcome. I am not sure what situation you are expecting to use this gear in but any time you can go lighter you are saving energy. Everything you do in a survival situation has to do with maintaining thus conserving energy and gaining energy.
Things I would loose off this list are: One of the multi tools and all of the pockets knifes. All you need is one good knife or multitool
-You only need one light source so choose one and bring extra batteries, Also get rid of the candle. I would rather have flint and steel than a candle.
- I might be able to understand one survival book but familiarizing yourself with the techniques in the book before hand is probably a better idea so learn the books and ditch both of them.
- I dont think you need traps, you can make traps from natural objects you find.
- I dont know why you need the leather welding gloves.

More Mossberg 88 Accessories Questions? Its me again, and now that I've got my gun I want to get a few things to protect it. From more than a few people, I've heard that sometimes these shotguns suffer heat expansion which cracks the plastic, do heatshields prevent that or at least help dissapate the heat faster? Or are they only to protect the person holding the gun from getting burned? I'm also looking at a shotshell holder for some part of my gun. I'm not sure about getting on on the stock, I'd think it would get in the way when I would be shooting. Lastly, I want to get a small flashlight to go on the end. Basically, I'm looking for some pretty cheap stuff, I need all of that for under $50. Anyone recommend some good sites? I've looked around Midwayusa.com and will probably buy my heatshield from there (if it helps the gun disapate heat), and if there are lights on there could anyone give me a link? I looked all over that sight and I don't think there are any on there. Read details. Not enough room on here. I found this crummy little site, not sure if I should order from it or not. But it has a shotshell holder that screws in and is only $12. It also has a little light for $3. Too good to be true? The Heat Shield might look cool but it serves no purpose and is pretty useless. You could just wear a pair of gloves and save yourself a few dollars..The light ring for $3 is only the bracket to mount it (The Mini-Mag lite flashlight isn't included). The Shotshell bracket that holds the extra shotshells will work as long as you mount it on the opposite side of your stock from where you hold the shotgun. (If you are right handed the bracket would mount on the right side of the Butt Stock)
*Keep the slide and action of your 88 lubricated, paying close attention to the slide rail that goes into the receiver behing the forend...Follow the maintenance instructions in your manual...

What are the best LED flashlights out there? A friend of mine let me borrow his surefire led flashlight to take camping. It was awesome. Small, light, tough, very bright and waterproof. I know that surefires are expensive. But are they the best? Are there any other companies that make similar or better LED flashlights? Cheaper? The main thing I want them to have is to be tough, reliable, bright and waterproof. A lifetime warranty or better would be awesome as well as it seems that most if not all of surefire's flashlights come with one. I'm a big fan of the surefire flashlights!
I also have a 3 watt Maglite AA. It puts out great light but, it's tempermental at times - batteries, contacts, some days it just doesn't like me. Other than that it's a good size, with a good reflector, and good light out put. My complaint is that you need two hands to turn it on and you can't get the accessory push button switch.
Pelican head lamps are very good too - unconditional lifetime warranty, very durable, go with the LED as the others can drain batteries quickly.

How can I make a cheap scenography projection for a play? Hi, I have a play with some friends, it is a small in-house show. However, I'd like to make a really easy and cheap light projection scenography/set. How can I do this? Like, can I take a flashlight and drae a picture of a city on a plastic slide and project it onto a screen? Please give me tips and even source material if possible. Thanks indeed!!! flash light won't be strong enough, if you want to go that route try some slide prodectors, or those overhead projectors. gonna take some time and experimentation to see what you can get to work and be bright enough

Can you get a tan using uv flashlights or blacklights? On ebay, they have plenty of UV flashlights, and UV blacklights. Now, I have myself a tanning lamp that works great! It was made in 1982 thought... Question 1: Can you get a tan with these simple gadgets? Even if there are health risks I would just like to know. Question 2: Why have they stopped making small tanners that can tan the whole body? Is it because it is too cheap for people to do in their homes and the government wants you to go to a salon? The only ones I can find are made from early 80's or cost over 1000 bucks.

How to replace an led flashlight bulb that is soldered to its switch "component" with a lightbulb with wires? I have a cheap dollar store "finger" flashlight.I took out the guts and it looks like this... It takes 3 very small watch like batteries (LR41 size). It has an led type bulb soldered to a small board that has a switch with batteries extending beyond that. My intention is to create a lamp for my dollhouse roombox (a dentist overhead light to be exact). I need to revamp this thing so I can switch it on and off beyond the walls of the box. Could it be possible to remove bulb and replace with one with wires attached so I could turn light source on and off from a distance??? Note: I know very little about either electronics or soldering. ok,so to start out you will need a soldering gun and maybe a toggle switch or an other sort of on and off switch.first heat up the solder gun and melt the old solder off the led type bulb and board to seperate them and solder on a - and + wire to each end and then solder on a battery source and the on off switch.

Their small bags kept in the house for a quick exit. Each family member has their own bag, so it’s tailored for them. The bag looks like a large gym bag and it has shoulder straps. In each bag there is a change of clothing and stout shoes. A travel size first aid kit. (cheap from Wal-Mart and Dollar Store) A small sample size toiletry kit. (cheap from Wal-Mart) Three days worth of food, like energy bars and mountain house freeze dried food. Ziploc bag with salt, pepper and plastic cutlery. Small pocket knife and multi-tool. Space blanket. Windup flashlight ( cheap from Dollar Store) One chemical light stick. Two army canteens with drinking cups and water purification tablets. Two packs of travel size Kleenex. One butane lighter. Two small tea candles. Pepper spray (for 2 and 4 legged varmints) Small AM/FM radio. Rain poncho Xerox copies of birth certificates, drivers licenses, insurance papers, address books, etc. Rechargeable phone calling card with at least 120 minutes. A small notebook with a pen. Also each bag has $300.00 in small bills and two rolls of quarters. The bags don’t weigh much, but they can be worth their weight in gold if needed. Not such a joker afterall !! ☺☺☺
I am ALWAYS ready ---- I live in the smack middle of tornado alley and have had three of them run slap over my butt within my lifetime !! So, believe me, here --- at a moment's notice -- I can be GONE from any activity at all with not even a glance in the rearview mirror !!
I wouldn't trust FEMA to be able to find its own tail with directions from God printed on the palm of their hand !!!
