One butane lighter. Two small tea candles. Pepper spray (for 2 and 4 legged varmints) Small AM/FM radio. Rain poncho Xerox copies of birth certificates, drivers licenses, insurance papers, address books, etc. Rechargeable phone calling card with at least 120 minutes. A small notebook with a pen. Also each bag has $300.00 in small bills and two rolls of quarters. The bags don’t weigh much, but they can be worth their weight in gold if needed. Not such a joker afterall !! ☺☺☺
I am ALWAYS ready ---- I live in the smack middle of tornado alley and have had three of them run slap over my butt within my lifetime !! So, believe me, here --- at a moment's notice -- I can be GONE from any activity at all with not even a glance in the rearview mirror !!

The only addition I would make is a couple of five gallon cans of gasoline that are rotated out regularly for the sake of freshness or treated with 'sta-bil' preservative, just in case one is caught in a power outage and little gas in one's car.

Has anybody bought a rechargeable batteries with .......? a recharging station. I would like to buy one but not sure which to get. UK Electric Battery Query? Its quite bright but it seriously eats batteries. It uses 3x AAA type and i recently bought duracell batteries for it and on its maximum brighness it lasted about 2 1/2 hours. I take a rucksack and im thinking about wiring up some larger batteries that would last longer. Rechargeable batteries dont seem to last long so i thought that if i got some bigger batteries eg 'C' Type and kept them in my rucksack with a wire running to the light it might solve the problem......but lifes never that easy, is it? I was hoping that someone with some electrical knowledge could advise me on a CHEAP ( i'm currently dead skint!) way of powering this light for about 2 hours at a time. Many thanks Following along the lines of your suggestion, I would buy a plastic 3 AA battery holder that connects the 3 batts in series.
You might want to test the existing unit with a voltmeter to make double sure I am correct that it does run off 4.5 V and not 1.5 V. I.e. batts in series.
The holders can be ordered at
www.digikey.com or www.mouser.com.
Then solder the long wire pair between the holder and the LED device. Make sure you get the polarity correct. If the device has solid state electronics inside, the wrong polarity could kill it.
Standard good grade AA alkaline batts will last much much longer than the AAA batts. My guess is maybe 5X to 8X longer.

"De-memorize" rechargeable batteries? Had problem w/ digital camera rechargeable batteries (AA) getting a "set" and not lasting long after a full recharge. Got bright (literally) idea of getting two inexpensive penlight flashlights that took one AA battery each. I put the flat batteries in them, turned them on and put them in a cupboard and ignored them for several hours. Yes, they will last that long. When they are finally dead, take them out, recharge them, and you'll be surprised at the new life in them. I've been doing this for a year now, no signs yet of them being ready for retirement. My daughter thought I was nuts and "dumped" her "useless" rechargeables on me. She's kicking herself for not trying it now! No fancy flashlights or uses different sizes of batteries. Just a space for one battery, an on/off switch and a bulb does the job. I also remove them from my camera when I'm done but I also put a cheap set in to keep date/time active. OH YEAH, MY QUESTION. Any other battery recharge ideas? Thanks. Good job. I'll just point out that only NiCad batteries have a memory problem. NiMH and Li-Ion do not get this problem and do not need to be drained in this fashion. In fact, they will last longer if you recharge them promptly after use.
BTW, NiCad's are good for about 1,000 charge/discharge cycles if used properly. NiMH and Li-Ion and good for between 300 to 500 charge/discharge cycles.

Where can I get these batteries? online? I have a Fenix L2D Flashlight and I need to find the AA Rechargeable batteries. I need to find the Energizer ones with the charger or the Duracell ones. Is there a rechargeable battery for AA that has a higher output. Like instead of 1.2 like a 1.4 or higher? Can someone please show me a place where I can get those batteries for the cheapest and most reliable place? Thanks ten points to anyone who can lead me to the purchase. All AA batteries are meant to be only 1.2V (that way they work in everything designed for them without blowing any fuses, not that fuses would be used with AA)
Duracell has a relatively new line of rechargeable batteries that is a very good deal. Look for Duracell Rechargeable (they don't look to fancy, but do an extremely good job) at Wal-Mart for $10, if you don't have a store near by, check online.
