Is it illegal to have a business advertisement magnetic sign on your personal car in California? Though i dont have a ticket yet for some time now, since i used to park my personal car on the streets, but i dont want to get one. I am just not sure if it is okay for me to use the sign. Pls advice There is no state law prohibiting it. I assume that many local businesses have advertising on their vehicles (I don't know any plumber who does not have it)--there is nothing magic about the type of vehicle. (The usual rub comes if you are trying to claim use of the vehicle as a business expense for tax purposes.)

In most cases, the dealer who leased the car to you will be responsible to accept it when the term of the lease is over. They will want to inspect the vehicle for damages, and close the contract.
It is not their responsibility to call you, and, if you do not hear from them, you should make every attempt to contact them. The penalties for a late return can be severe, and simply failing to return a leased vehicle because you have not heard from anyone, will not save you from these penalties......

What would be the penalties for driving a personal car on company time? Just a quick question really, Say for example I had a personal car and i was asked to use it for company business but the employer had left it down to the employee to make sure their car was under the correct insurance, what would happen if I was out driving and had an accident or something like that, and the police or my insurance company found out it hadn't been properly insurance for company use, what would be the penalties for it? would they be serious or is it not really that major of a problem?? They really don't care if it is for company use or not. It is your car and YOU are responsible for making sure you have the right insurance on it. Period.

In the State of Virginia, are you able to use your (car) personal property tax payments as a tax write off? I paid about 1000 dollars this year to the county for my cars I own. You can use the personal property taxes on the car as an itemized deduction. If your county requires you to buy a sticker to show that you've paid the tax, the cost of the sticker can not be used as a deduction.
Also remember that you get either your standard deduction or itemized deductions but not both. So the total of your itemized deductions must be greater than your standard deduction for you to see any tax benefit.

For the same amount of money, as the shipping cost across the whole Pacific Ocean, you can buy a good used car here, and save all the headaches. No importation costs, no safety inspection, no emissions testing, no fuss.
You remind me of the Brit who moved to Canada, and brought all his plumbing fixtures with him, in the container, along with his furniture and appliances, only to find out that in North America none of the electrical stuff would work. Sure got a good laugh from the new neighbours, in Alberta.

Should I rent a car or take my personal car? I'm going to go on a road trip from PA to Times Square, New York with 2 friends(I'm the driver). I'm just not sure if its worth paying like $80-$100 to save the mileage on my personal car. Its not like its not able to take it, its a 2008 Dodge Avenger SXT, so its reliable to be able to get there and back but I don't want to add that much mileage at once. If the rental car were stolen in NYC, the rental company would charge you
rent for every day until they get the car back and in rent-able condition - unless
you paid the big bucks for their insurance. Be sure to check that out. Many people
have been in big trouble over that clause.
Also, walk around the car in good light to be certain that it doesn't have
any dents or dings or scratches on it anywhere - Outside or in.
And be certain it has a spare tire and jack because if you turn it in without
the spare, you will be charged.

Should I go in person for a personal car loan? I am trying to get a personal car loan from my bank. I can apply online but I believe I would have to give my SSN online wouldn't I for a credit check? Sorry if this is in the wrong spot, wasn't too sure. It doesn't matter how you do it.
Apply online, they run your credit real quick to see if you might qualify, then they send that application to one of the local loan officers.
If you go in, they just take all that information from you, then you leave and they call you back when they've put it all through.
Its normally a faster process if you do it online
Its completely safe to do it online if thats what you're worried about.

Are drivers obligated to drive the same make of car they sponsor for their personal car at home? There is no way there can be a "set rule," because drivers may drive two different models in two different series. For instance, Bobby Labonte drives the 43 Dodge in the Cup series, while he alternates with a few others driving the 77 Chevy in Busch/Nationwide series.
