how do i install spotlights on my car? hi everyone i just recently bought a p71 police car, it does not have holes for spotlights but i do have two of them that i want to install but that's just the thing, I don't know how. can anybody tell me how to install them??? or where can I get them installed plus I would like to know how can I get them to turn on once they are installed??? please no bad comments. thank you to everyone who answers my question. =) I'm assuming your talking about the lights that are mounted beside the windshield and if thats the case any b ody or repair shop should be ab le to in stall them and it shouldn't be very costly probably around $100 for both. Some electronic/stereo installation businesses can install them or rather wire them up for you. But they will not cut the holes necessary to install them thats why I say a body/repair shop would be your best bet. IfI'm wrong and your talkin g about fog lamps them the electronic/stereo shop could install them completely for a reasonab le amount.

how do i remove a spotlight out of an old cop car? In a local junk yard, rests a retired crown vic police interceptor. I got a good price on the spot light (drivers side), so i decided to buy. One problem.. i cant figure out how to get it out of the door frame.. how does it disconnect to let the unit come out? the handle blocks a straight pull one way, and the the light blocks the other. even if the light or the handel was removed, it would still not come out.. how do i remove it?? remove the muffler and gas cap.much easier that way

Why do so many young black people say "F da police" and then go out and buy the retired Crown Vic Interceptors with the spotlights and dark tint and like to pretend they are cops? where to buy those old 80s car rear window stickers (orange horizontal stripes with car make)? Anyone remember those rear window stickers that were big in the 80s, in the UK (and poss in europe too).. you know.. the ones sold in Halfords that covered the entire rear window, with a series of horizontal orange stripes, and the name of the car make in italic letters... new or good condition second hand.. I'm after the "nissan" and am prepared to pay good money! Also, while we're at it, I'm after some 80's style rally spotlights.. I've aquired a near mint contition 1988 nissan sunny hatchback, and am aining to pimp it up in full period style! (show these young'uns how it should be done!) I've searched everywhere.. ebay, internet, and can't find anything suitable.. anyone able to help, or maybe even have said articles for sale? thanks in advance! are spotlights on cars legal (like police)? recently bought former detective car. has holes in pillars where spotlights use to be. Can I legally put spotlights back on car? I know cabs have them but can civilians? no plan to hook them up just want to put something where the holes are. Duct tape and patching are not a viable option. Should I buy a former law enforcement car from an Auction? It's a 2001 Chevy Impala, what do you think? I am not positive it was an actual cop car - but it was owned by the city. It just looks like it was used for law enforcement - it is white and has those huge spotlights on each side of the windsheild. It's a 2001 Impala and is going to be at an auction this week. Has anyone ever bought a car from an auction or bought a former city-owned car? I was told I could pick it up for a pretty good price, but wouldnt it be in pretty rough shape if it were used for a police car? It doesnt have any siren-type lights or a cage inside, so maybe it was used for detective or undercover type work, i dont know. Can anyone give me some insight? My friend bought a car from a similar auction for city owned vehicles. It worked out OK for him, but you never know what you are going to get. If the price is right and you know that it may need work , I'd say go for it. Good-luck!

Is suspicion enough for a cop to pull over a car? I am 18 and was recently at a party, I consumed a few beers but I had full control of myself and could safely operate my vehicle. I then left the party to go buy a pack of cigarettes and upon returning found that cops were parked along the street, so I then drove around the neighborhood and parked my car away from the street. I received a text a few minutes later asking for a ride home from someone at the party and that the cops had left. I pulled into the street but noticed a cop car spotlighting the house so I turned around and drove the other way a little but the cop followed me. As I pulled around in a cul-de-sac the cop stopped me and arrested me for a DUI even though there was no visible proof that I had committed any crime to warrant a stop. I agreed to a breathalyzer and registered a .02 and am aware that any detectable amount is illegal for underage drinkers but the cop had no reason to pull me over. (I was not driving recklessly or anything of that nature and was obeying all street laws and signs.) It even says on the citation that I can only be issued the DUI if I registered a ".08 or greater" OR if I have any "detectable amount of alcohol FOLLOWING an arrest for an offense involving the operation of a motor vehicle". I had a detectable amount BUT there was no arrest for any other offense meaning he pulled me over for suspicion because he had no other reason that would warrant a stop which would not allow him to issue me the DUI. Am I correct in assuming that? I talked to my lawyer and she agrees and thinks it will be thrown out but I would like a second opinion. In California,
Mere suspicion is not usually enough for the stop, but after reading thousands of DUI arrest reports, the person arrested seldom knows the real reason the officer pulls them over until they read their police report. You'll have to trust me on this, there will be a reason why the cop stopped you.
Arguably, the cop made it up after the fact, but that is something an experienced attorney will have to fight in court.
