Any experience with Browning Firearms customer service? I have a new, never fired A-Bolt stainless stalker with a very bad bolt. I have cycled bolt a few times. The bolt is not smooth and brass is coming out with scratches, sometimes very deep. I have been unpleasantly surprised with the online research I have done so far. There is no warranty and I did not see positive comments about working with Browning. I wish I could just take it back, but that's obviously not an option. I was wondering if anyone has had experiences working with Browning, or if I need to dump more money into this gun through a gun smith. Thanks! What date was my Browning Sweet Sixteen A-5 made? My dad just gave me a Browning Sweet Sixteen A-5 shotgun. It has the serial number located on the reciever. The serial number reads 73S 12872. I have looked on Browning Firearms website at the decoder. I left there more confused than ever. If anyone knows, it would be of much help. Your gun as stated if a hump back A5 would have been been made in 1954-1955 and is a light weight model.
No other info is usually known unless you contact Browning to see what dealer it was sent to in 54-55. No other records would be kept as to where it might of went to or sold to back in 1954-1955 when you could mail order a gun with no name or background ck. Buying a gun back then was like buying nails........there where no cks or names required by the BATF.

What firearms designed by John Browning are still in production today? Rossi makes a copy of the 1892 Winchester rifle, and the 1897 pump shotgun, and a pump action rifle I don't know the model number of. Norinco makes copies of the 1911 Colt automatic pistol and the .22 automatic rifle. Winchester and Browning make 1892's, the 1886, 1895, and the1894 rifles.
Colt, Kimber, Springfield, and several others make the 1911pistol.
I'm not sure, but I think the 20mm aircraft cannon are still Browning designed. Pretty good when you consider that some these things were originally made over 100 years ago.

Is browning a good name in firearms, im getting a used shtgun wanted to see what people think.? Please disregard what the CoD commando above me said. Browning does make good guns but you still need to be careful when buying a used gun because the previous owner could keep the gun in immaculate condition or let the gun rust and the barrel pit because he never cleans it.

What is the difference between a full auto and semi auto side plate on firearms? Im mainly asking for a 1919 Browning, I know the fullauto parts are thicker, but what is the difference between the two side plates?
