Due to Rising Energy Costs, the Light at the End of the Tunnel Has Been Turned Off: How to Have a Happy, Fabulous Life Even When Your Circumstances LoEXCERPT FROM CATALOG You remember how I mentioned all the stuff muscles do? I said they give us strength, determine our paths, get us going, keep us on track, and even help us change our worlds. There's something else they do for us. When we find ourselves flat on our faces in a dark place, muscles get us back on our feet, moving toward an exit, and reaching for the switch that makes the world illuminated and bright once again. And the next time the light goes out at the end of one of your tunnels, a well-toned sense of peace, hope, and joy can do the very same thing. In the following chapters, we're going to talk about ten ways we can stretch, flex, and tone our peace, hope, and joy. Every day. Rain or shine. Even when it's dark outside. Especially when it's dark outside. Life is too short and too rich for anything less. After all, you and I've got places to go, things to do, people to love, life to live, and dances to dance. Who wants to stay home in bed because of a little inclement weather? The bad news is that sometimes skies are gray. The good news is that you and I don't run on solar power. Whether we realize it or not, we really do have the moxie we need to hone the moves that will help us get the most mileage and joy out of our lives. Even if we do look like C3PO when we belly dance.$3.98

who knows the corporate zodiac? MARKETING: you are ambitious, yet stupid. You chose a marketing degree to avoid having to actually study in university, concentrating instead on drinking and socializing, which is pretty much what your job responsibilities are now. Least compatible with sales SALES: laziest of all the corporate signs often referred to as a 'marketer without a degree' you are also self-centered and paranoid. Unless someone calls you and begs you to take their money, you like to avoid all contact with customers so you can 'concentrate on the big picture' you seek admiration for your golf game, clothes, car and sex appeal throughout your career CUSTOMER SERVICE: bright, cheery and positive, you are a 50 cent taxi ride from taking your own life. As a child very few of you asked your parents for a little cubicle for your room and a headset so you could pretend to play 'customer service'. Continually passed over for promotions, your best bet is to sleep with your manager TECHNOLOGY: unable to control anything in your personal life, you are instead content to completely control everything that happens at your workplace. Typically you went to trade school because you didn’t have time for all that ‘crap’ required in university. Often, even you don’t understand what the hell you’re saying. But no one else except the engineers knows anyway. It is written that the geeks shall inherit the earth, but the senior managers keep contesting the will ENGINEERING: one of only two signs that actually studied in school, it is said that 60% of all people on the Internet are either engineers, or wish they were. You can be happy with yourself and the latest technology in your field. Your office is typically full of all the latest gadgets, catalogues and half finished spec sheets ACCOUNTING: the only other sign that studied in school, you are mostly immune from office politics. You are the most feared person in the organization; combined with your extreme organizational traits, the majority of your co-workers are convinced that you are completely without feeling or emotion. You are often caught in the bathroom, practicing your frown in the mirror HUMAN RESOURCES: ironically, given your access to confidential information, you tend to be the biggest gossip in the company. Possibly the only other person that does less work than marketing, you are unable to return any calls today because you have to get a haircut, have lunch, and mail a letter! Your favorite expression is ‘now don’t say anything but…’ MID LEVEL MAMAGERS/DEPARTMENT HEADS/TEAM LEADERS: cut throat and ambitious, but you are destined to remain in your current job forever unless a senior manager dies or retires. You measure your worth by the number of meetings you schedule for yourself and the number of subordinates you sleep with. Best suited to marry other middle managers, as everyone in your social circle must be at least a middle manager for appearances sake SENIOR MANAGERS: you enjoy appearing to be the ultimate authority figure but actually, you are completely spineless, and determined to remain in your current job for the rest of your life, unless the head of your organization dies or retires. Unable to make a single decision, you tend to measure your worth by the number of mid level managers you can harass on any given day and ensure that your office is the largest in the building. Best suited to date/marry other senior managers, as everyone in your social circle is a senior manager; besides, no one else would have you anyway Is there one for the service industry?
What colour curtain should i have? i bought this bed linen set from ikea-http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70100119 it looks very busy but in real life it stunning (well i like it) what colour curtains should i go for? I know its quite bold so obviously the curtains will be one colour, shoul i go neutral or bold green? im 14, so it can be bright and bold.
Firstly I love the Linen it FAB!!!! Because your a teen you could have another bold statment (eg.using bold curtains) I would go for white curtains with green flowers on them!!! Or you could go with lime green or dark green!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope your room turns out the way you hope!!!! xxx
Majoring in Psychology... other majors don't interest me. Did I make the right choice? I am currently going to UIC under Liberal Arts and Science (LAS).
Here's some info about the colleges and majors of UIC:
http://www.uic.edu/ucat/catalog/DPML.shtml
Im basically stuck in the LAS college and I seriously dont want to go to any other colleges.
Now in order to graduate, you MUST have a major so out of all of the LAS majors, PSYCH was the ONLY major I liked and wanted to learn more about. ALL of the other majors didnt interest me at all.
Right now I just want to graduate college ASAP with a degree in anything (psych), get a decent job (40k or 50k + per year sal), move away from my family, and live in my own apartment or house. That's my only goal in life right now.
I dont have a plan after college, not sure what good jobs are out there that i can get with a psych major, and I actually don't want to be a psychologist (as much as I like psych, strange huh).
I FEEL LIKE IM IN A MID-LIFE CRISIS NOW!
Is my future lookin bright at all? Did I make the right choices?
I already tried taking several courses req for med & business school. Taking those courses just made me realize how much I hate science and business.
Im not sure but I’m really not happy with the way my life turned out. I’m dealing with a lot of personal issues right now, I have no free time (even if I do, I got no friends to hang with cause they’re busy too), I don’t have the money to dorm, and I’m getting extremely stressed out doing college and work at the same time. I can't possibly image myself taking classes I dont have no interest for (which would also result in me staying in college even longer).
My back up plan is to work for the police department or have some kind of government job with good benefits.
Other then that... are there any other good jobs or paths out there that I can get with a BA in psych??
Keep your chin up. Its funny, but your story sounds strikingly similar to that of my girlfriend's. She greatly disliked school and only found the motivation to finish so that she'd have that important little piece of paper (she majored in communications and minored in anthropology). She was a little worried about finding work with her major once she got out, but didn't have any difficulty landing interviews. It wasn't surprising how many places weren't so much interested in what her degree was in, but more in the fact that she worked a fairly serious job at she same time as she was going to school. When job hunting she didn't allow what her diploma to completely represent who she was and what she was capable of doing...it was just a college diploma. Take a look at the transferable skills you'll be bringing to the table once you graduate...especially the ability to handle a job at the same time as school...many people I went to school with couldn't handle that amount of responsibility! I think that you'll be alright.
Oh, and for what its worth....my girlfriend was able to land a position as an agent for the federal government. Her starting pay is slightly lower than mine (I'm a civil engineer), but over the next nine to ten years she'll be matching my pay. Stick with the coursework, start looking at your marketable skills, and, like I said, I think you'll be alright.
shoes for this dress? I need shoes to go with this dress:
http://www1.bloomingdales.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=464401&CategoryID=18954
the picture they have on the website of the dress isn't as yellow or as bright as the dress is in real life. i'm in 9th grade so no huge heels or anything please! but i was thinking maybe some white heels/wedges. i'm really not sure though. thanks!!
1] low heels, low wedges, or flats, or nice sandals [ no flip flops ]
2] in yellow of dress, nude [ skin tone - see pic ] or white
Is there anyone else who dislikes BRIGHT sunlight? A few months ago my room was constantly dark, but one day my mom decided to pull the blinds up, and I can't stand the sunlight in the morning! (Further during the day it isn't so bad.)
Is there anyone else on here who is more of a night person? Who avoids direct sunlight if possible?
It's rare during the day that I'll step out of my house...only at dusk I come out to go for a walk. Unfortunately I have a job delivering catalogs that requires much expos ion to the sun. But when I do then I load sunblock on like my life depends on it.
I think I'm kind of a strange person right?....I mean...I take extreme precautions when it comes to tanning, that is probably my worst skin related fear.
But I just really don't like being outside in sunlight. When I am all sun-blocked up, then I kind of like a little sun, but mainly I stay in the shade.
So People....is there any one else who has the same "I like the sun but don't like to be in it and tan' issue?
And no, I am not a vampire...(I've pretty much assured myself of that) but I am a goth....maybe I just value my skin too much?
I'm just like that. I even use creams to keep my pale skin looking its palest. I exfoliate and moisturize daily so that way my skin isnt dulled by dead skin cells and i have whitening powder for overtop my makeup when i get all dolled up. I wouldnt be tan for anything in the world!
And I dont come out in the day much. Only when I have to. Im awake all night till about 5:30am then sleep till about noon or one. Ill only work evening and night shifts at my job. and i have blackout curtains in most of the rooms in my house that way I do not ever get woken up by the sun.

do you know what your corporate zodiac is? astrology tells us about people and their future by their time, date and location of birth. the Chinese zodiac uses the year of a persons birth. demographics tells us what others like, dislike. who they voted for, as well as what they buy and what they watch on television. the corporate zodiac goes a step further: simply by an individuals job title, people can pretty much learn about an employees hidden personality traits MARKETING you are ambitious, yet stupid. you chose a marketing degree to avoid having to actually study in university, concentrating instead on drinking and socializing-which is pretty much what your job responsibilities are now. least compatible with sales SALES laziest of all the corporate signs, often referred to as a 'marketer without a degree'. you are also self centered and paranoid. unless someone calls you and begs you to take their money, you like to avoid all contact with customers so you can 'concentrate on the big picture'. you seek admiration for your golf game, clothes, car and sex appeal throughout your career CUSTOMER SERVICE Bright, cheery and positive, you are a 50 cent taxi ride from taking your own life. Is it safe to deal with Bright-Life uk? This company sends mini catalogues through post - claiming to be in uk but it's a company in India. I phoned up to place an order but didn't because they sounded too desperate for my credit card details before even asking me what I wanted to order.
If your gut instinct is telling you that something is not right then you should take heed of it and not give this "firm" your credit card details.
Edit
This is what a quick search for Bright-Life UK brought up...read the comments...

Fourteen year old plans life?!? My best friend has a fourteen year old daughter, who is very bright and pretty. However, her mom has told me a lot about how she is obsessed with her future life- she orders baby clothing and furniture catalogues and scrapbooks the things she really likes, plans each of her children's names, interests, extra-curricular activities, decides how she wants to decorate every inch of her future house (which she is also planning), reads books about parenting, and spends hours on baby naming websites. Is this behavior really abnormal? Is something like, wrong with her or is it just her being herself?
No, that is normal. Even down to the baby cloths. As long as she is not getting the baby cloths..you're good. She's just fantasing about what she wants in her life. I would encourage it!! And with that...you should also talk to her on how she can achieve those goals. Like teaching her about boys, and how to protect herself from getting her heartbroken by them, or how not to get pregnant, and how she shouldn't let a man or ANYONE come between her and her goals!
good luck.
